small thing I noticed: they made some tests when he was in NY and they claimed to have found three major things: his peripheral view was claimed to be 30% wider than average (this would be seen in his vision), he had kind of a way too big ankle (which caused him to always walk a little bit leaned forward, one can see this in many pictures from the time) but also made it possible that he was able to jump over 1.20m from stand, giving him a head reach of close to 3m. this would be outstanding even today compared to his size (I read that he often jumped earlier than his opponents, so he used this advantage to stay just the fraction of a second longer in the air, which gave him the edge there). so his jumping reach should be way higher. and the most impressive was, that he had a very low pulse in training compared to his teammates and so he was able to do high demanding stuff "after 45seconds" (iirc), so his recovery was extremely high, too, which should reflect in stamina. when you think about it, with all these natural abilities they found and modern training, what would have been possible today
@@FMChallenger It's actually quite interesting how Ballon D'or only became a global prize in 2007, before that you could only win it if you were playing for a european club and before 1995, you were only eligible if you were from Europe. That's why George Weah was the first non-european to win it in 1995 and I think Messi is the first to win it while not playing at a European club, even though he was awarded for the PSG season.

Brazilian government declared Pele an official national treasure in 1961, which made it impossible for him to leave Europe or other continents when he was at his peak.

small bit - but MLS did not launch until the mid-nineties, the New York Cosmos were playing in the North American Soccer League (NASL) when Pele was apart of their squad! MLS was only founded because FIFA stipulated that for the US to host the World Cup in '94 they would have to launch a new domestic league.
