Adopting a big team mentality is always a weird change. Honestly, I don't think it's that tough to get over spending £150m on a star player. The real mental block is learning to spend £50m+ on a squad player or a back-up just because they fill out your team, especially when that 40 goal a season superstar striker you have only cost you £15m three or four seasons ago. It took me a while to learn that a world class player willing to sit on the bench is worth their weight in gold.
From my experience almost anyone can be pegged down to squad player just by changing their playing time even if they wouldn't accept a contract like that
My left back cost roughly €104M to convince Bayern to sell. He's been by far the best wing back in the world for over 10 seasons. If the guy is world-class and helps you to take the next step, it's always worth it
I agree. Got Wigan up to the Prem. After staying up for a year I was rolling in money. I bought a 22-year-old English striker regen that had amazing stats. He was just about to start being regularly called up for England. Spent £70m on him, and I was anxious about it all season. I think it was because my record signing before that was about £24m for a winger. After big spending, I go back to buying young players and loan farming them to develop them for the main team.
My system is pretty straightforward. For every single position I have 1st team - TOP player 2nd choice - TOP / strong player 3rd choice - wonderkid When I take over a new club my focus is on making sure my entire 11 has top players and I only sign players max age 25, loaning for depth where needed for 2nd and 3rd choices. When I’m happy with my 11 I’ll bring in quality in my 2nd choice slot and then bring in wonderkids once I’m all set there. By the time my 1st choice hits his 30s and I’m looking at cashing in on them my wonderkid is usually ready to take over or even my second choice may be good enough. I sell players as they leave their prime: GK - 34 Defenders - 31 Mid - 31 ST - 30 Which ensures I’m getting a good payout for my stars and keeping things fresh
My favorite trick for signing players a bit out of my reputation range: Find a player with 1-2 years left on their contract and attempt to loan them. Praise, support, cuddle the player while he’s on loan with you. With a bit of luck, I can become a favored person, and the second he reaches 6 months left, try to sign him for free. Got plenty of players over the years that would otherwise have never signed for me.
On my main save this year, I learned a lot to have that "everyone is sellable for the right price" mentality. I found two Argentinian superstars early in their career and I thought they'd be here forever, especially because I was playing in Spain and one of them was Italian 2nd nationality. Two years later both were gone to the prem for over 200€M. Each. It was hard for me to actually do it because I thought they were going to win me everything this year but after looking at potential replacements I saw that I could replace both for less that what one of them would bring me, and actually built a team full of players of that caliber in almost all my positions, winning everything 2 years in a row.
@@hoodie5004 I was managing Sabadell, one of the closest towns that have a playable team to the one I lived in for the longest time in my life before recently moving out, Rubí. Started in Primera RFEF, managed back-to-back promotions after a lot of luck and a Deportivo bottlejob of epic proportions then took a few years to settle in LaLiga and get into Europe, but once the money started rolling in and the wonderkids were found I started to compete for everything, eventually winning domestic double into a quadruple in my final 2 seasons.
Glad you made this video. I feel like a lot of people (myself included sometimes) get caught in the wonderkid churn and need to transition from having a team with future value to one that is good right now.
I started a Crystal Palace save in February and it’s the first long term save I’ve done in FM24. I’m now half way through my 3rd season and we’ve won the FA Cup, Carabao cup and snuck into the UCL consistently. My first signing was Marcos Leonardo for just under £30m which we could just about afford after selling some players. I’ve managed to keep Eze and Olise although they might both be sold soon but mainly because we are only ‘okay’ financially and I honestly think we can grow better as a squad without them . Because of our low reputation I’ve been able to sign a lot of high potential young players for reasonable prices, like Roony Bardji, Solet, Omaridion. We’ve also been using the loan market, to get quality first team players from huge clubs that are transfer listed most notably Carlos Soler from PSG and Wijndal from Ajax. We just started going into the FT market, with Kyle Walker peters signed and Doue and Pablo Torre on the list for next season. The best signing we’ve made so far has been an unhappy Pafundi for less than £20m. He is unreal. I kinda recognised the name from some rebuilds I’ve watched but I never knew how good he was and I don’t pay attention to wonderkids so I had no idea. I’m looking forward to continuing at Palace. We are currently first in the league and looking for that title . Love this vid as it’s so inspiring to think about what we can achieve. They sky is the limits
I totally agree that it's important to know when to "switch" from ammassing wonderkids to make a profit to just buying superstars to improve your starting lineup. I managed to win UCL with AS Roma many times and the first few seasons are all about selling the extra players and getting cheap wonderkids, free transfers or bargains. Then when you get to the level of the big clubs you just need to get the new superstars that pop up in lesser teams ASAP even if they cost a lot of money... And not be scared of selling your starters when an amazing offer comes. I remember selling El-Shaarawy for like 100M to PSG after a good season, he was valued like 20 the next one.
He's probably the most high level utility player out there, one of the most valuable assets as a super team. Signed him off a 173m release clause in my Arsenal save because he could easily cover all my midfield positions without a drop in quality. Squad rotation becomes a big thing, at a certain point in that save my second 11 could beat every Premiership team, because I was bringing in players like Camavinga to bridge that gap and make sure we were still at full strength even with a starter out
I actually just did the whole "Move to a fallen giant" thing. I was managing in Portugal and doing extremely well, I had the league and Champions League on lock and I had a loan farm of like 50 of the best youth players. I saw my beloved Manchester United had just finished 17th, barely a handful of points above relegation, after 10 years of finishing outside of the top 5 and I decided that enough was enough so I went out of my way to get the job. They were in absolute ruin. No money, overpaid average players, facilities had gone to tatters (Even morso) and the dynamics were in the mud. I had about 12m to spend and managed to make about 100m in player sales but it was nowhere near enough so I mostly used amortisation to get them out of the pits. I bought a bunch of the youth players from my previous club for anywhere from 20-40m but I spread the payment out over 8 1/2 years (3 12-month, 6 6-month and 5 6-month instalments). I racked up about 400m in transfer debt doing this but I had a team of future world beaters. Managed to finish top 4 in the first season and came 2nd in the second season but now the team was really growing into itself. The next season I won the Prem and came runner up in UCL. The sponsorships increased a lot during this time and so did the rest of the commercial revenue so I had a decent amount of money and managed to shore up the squad with more wonderkids for depth. Won the Quadruple (Quintuple if you count the community shield) in season 4
What I do in FM for many versions now. Use my own calculation sheet in Excel that calculates a score based on the roles of your tactics and the values of those attributes. Looks like something Squirrel_plays created, but then the score is based on my tactics and my way of playing (stronger players goods headers etc). I know this score will raise when players develop, but it will go up with max 2 at the age of 20 max 3 at the age of 18 and 4 at the age of 16. So for example , in Bundesliga, I will only take an 16yr old player with a score of at least 10 at 18ys 12 etc but when I'm playing in, for example, Mexico I will take an 16yr old with a score of at least 7 etc. So I totally avoid the CA and PA potential scores and use scouting reports for revealing the attributes and knowing if he gets injured fast, loves big games, and loses his cool fast. And trust me this works perfect!!! Raised many wonderkids into worldclass players and sell them for big money to get more and more wonderkids. No matter what FM version your playing. Use the highlighted attributes per role give them a score how important that attribute is in your tactics, and find some more attributes that all players should have and create your own CA to determine who is gonna be your guy. A lot more fun than using Genie scout trust me.
The problem I find with his scouting is that if you select multiple positions the scouts will ONLY “Find players who can play all selected positions”, which means that if you need a Rb and only have like 3 days left on the window your scouts will only have found players who can play both lb and rb and then that could be a problem as those players might be more expensive or not as good as someone who only plays on one side.
since 2013 i play same old FM14 with same old my own database. I degraded Millwall to lowest league added players like buffon, pirlo, torres, adriano (striker), kaka, ronaldinho, gerrard, terry, vidic, Xabi, and so on - set their potential to 200, changed their age to 16, and anchored their contract to 2099 :) this game still gives me so much joy to bully teams like PSG, Barcelona, Man City or so on - and yes im aware that im cheating but as long as im doing this in my game, and it does not hurt anyone else i guess is fine :)
You can pretty much almost always bring down the playing time by choosing the option of "I must say you are not of that quality" or something like that (top line first right one to the center). Didnt work only once when I used it on my best CD, but then I brought better CD and it worked again. So its working 9 out of 10 times I would say
@@lisaruhm6681 The trick to that is to go for the mutual termination option, and this leads to your board denying it because 'the player is too valuable to let go'. This also satisfies the player so its an easy win.
One of my main problems this year has been promising playing time. There were a lot of players on my team that every time I wanted to renew them they wanted more and more playing time even if they didn't have the skill to be a "superstar"... I struggled more renewing players than signing them and all because they were always asking more playing time and they never wanted to negotiate less.
This guy is incredible, has been providing this video quality and incredible tips on FM for years. And I'm not even talking about his spontaneity and how funny he makes it. Thanks Zea
I always go for 4 full squads + 7 benchers in key positions. 1st squad - Ol' Reliables 29-32 year olds for a season or two exclusively for important matches, international competitions and some league games to keep'em sharp in between. The very best of them I keep for a long time for mentoring. 2nd squad - Main Squad 23-26 year olds who are gonna replace the old guard in time, they play most league matches and cups, the workhorses. 3rd squad - Youngins up to 20 year olds who play for reserves, get mentored, typically moving them up after 3rd season and replace unwanted ones via transfers when it's time. 4th squad - The same as above, I play both squads on rotation. Benchers - Extra GK, LB+RB(yeah i'm fucking up someone's future deliberately for the benefit of the team instead of making their secondary role LM or LW), CD, DM, CM, AM and ST cause injuries are a bitch and when it rains it fucking pours. Never have I ever had only 1 injured player, when there's an injury it spreads to AT LEAST 3 players because of reasons. And since I have basically 3 tactics I always go for, multi-roling isn't an issue since I limit it only for fullbacks, BWM, APM and strikers.
@@shoobydoobydoooo 1st squad is only there for a season or two if they hold up, after that I'm moving up better reserve line up and have 3 squads+7 and promoting youth onwards. Promoted youth become reserve and play all matches while worse reserve who stayed I loan out to 3rd league or equivalent. It also depends on my goals for the club, sometimes I just take a job for a trophy and move on after a season not minding bankrupting the club for a good line up lol.
Some of the player demands are bollocks. Wanted to sign a Japanese wonderkid who wanted to be a star player, refused to be a regular starter, signs for Liverpool as a breakthrough prospect
How old was he? Sometimes with the 18 year olds they assume they are going into your youth team so Star Player reflects that level. Just signed a guy in Serie A who wanted Star Player which scared me, then clicked through and saw he wanted £8k per week so this was referring to my youth teams.
@@pbh81 how much wage did they want? Unless they were wanting to be around your highest earner then they may not have actually expected to be a Star Player
16:05 Depends probably which club you’re managing. As FC Porto manager I had plenty of business done in January. Teams were bidding a lot for my players 😂
Loan with future fees are such a great way to get rid of players that you don't need and don't really have clubs lining up to buy them. I mainly use it to get rid of youth players that just aren't gonna make the cut, but still are worth enough money to be worth selling. Most of the times there is little to no interested for a transfer. However, a loan with a mandatory future fee almost always works and I can usually get a fee that's really close to their transfer value. Same works with first team players you want to get rid off, but have no clubs interested in a transfer.
I completely disagree with the playing time thing. I just bully players into lower playing time by lowering it and after 2 months they stop being unhappy (except for my backup goalkeeper who is 32 and 4.5/4.5) but thats another story as i want my first choice keeper to reach 1000 games for the club (he's 36, from GUINEA BISAU, 4.5/4.5 and only 40 games away or so.
Your player might be given a certain value, but it doesn't mean he's worth the same to other clubs without the same reputation or money, you might have to lower your expectations a bit
I think it depends from save to save. Here are a few things I do: 1) Offer them out at a lower value to start a bidding war (I believe Zealand has covered this in a previous video). I have been able to raise the price higher than what I would have accepted by doing incremental higher offerings every couple of days and rejecting the lower offer. 2) Loan out a player if the wage is a problem and they have more than a year left on their contract. Sometimes a player not playing can put teams off making an offer. If they play well on loan, you might get a suitable bid in the next transfer window. 3) This goes against Zealand's advice and works best for German and Dutch teams (where there's no registration rules) - buy 2 CA/4-5 PA young players (preferably 18 year olds) from nations where it's cheap. Their value will increase when they join the club. Any who get into your team even as an impact sub will help you fulfill homegrown rules later down the line. Have them available for U19 to continue their development. Loan out the rest to teams with good facilities and playing in good leagues (bonus if it's a domestic club). You can sell these players for a profit in a few years if they don't meet your team's standard and repeat the cycle. I did something similar with PSV in FM22 and took their bank balance to over $1b. Every year I was selling off not good enough youth players for $100m+ combined, which allowed me to spend big/compete with European heavyweights in terms of salaries. Works even better in Germany as Bundesliga/2 offers good money for their league place finishes. I'll add more if I can think of anything else. Oh and having w competent and big scouting team is essential, as Zealand has already mentioned.
How do you sort the scouting, like one assignment was named "Speed". If you cant add attributes to scout for anymore (like pace and acceleration), how do you go about making that assignment and what does it consist of???
I think my challenge is actively assessing players correctly. Sometimes I just sign a player and sell another because it feels good too but not necessarily because I know the player is better.
dribbling, finishing, and first touch attributes. Due to the fact they're all right next to eachother in the attribute list and are 3 of the most important stats for any attacking player
I may be wrong slightly but i can point you in the right direction. he always refers to the holy trinity as the attributes "First touch, dribbling and finishing" i think. along with pace basically these players will win you games at the top level. I think its those 3 attributes : )
To have a cleanup every season, and also sell your darlings, is a key. The biggest key is to get young players and develop and give them a chance around 19-21 years old. If they havent developed once they are 22 you sell. If you have a star at 25+ but require like 400k pluss in wage, sell him and promote one of your elite talents. It will keep you making a lot of money so you can buy whoever talent you want. You have lower wages cause younger players have lower wages. So make superstars, dont buy them :D
Spent over 150m on fm22 with Havant. A unbelievable cmA/AMC for around 43m upfront over 160m all in. I didn't continue the save for long after....but my god was he unbelievably good. I needed nothing else so he was well worth it.
Though looking at him and seca they are almost identical....now I wanna know what seca cost. I can't feel bad I got a world class striker for 4 mil cause of a relegation clause so had the money to burn🤣🤣
I always end up with my teams looking like this simply by building around signing youth talents and just keeping them until I have a strong enough team, strong enough reputition, strong enough economy and strong enough rating with club owners that I can say no to basically any offer that comes inn for my top players. Building a super team, in my experience, is only possible with a long term project (save). Even if you're Real Madrid, Man United, Man City, Barcelona or PSG you end up having players that you can't move on. Even if you get them moved on there's rarely available top players to instantly take you to the super club status.
Very interesting scouting method, has anyone else had success with this? The recruitment focuses are super tedious in newer versions and this looks much easier
Hi! When you said that locker room atmosphere was what wins and loses you games, has anyone tested that? I'm thinking there might be a risk that it is kind of a "the chicken or the egg" type of situation where statistically when there is good atmosphere you win OR is it just that when you win there is good atmosphere?
Yall should sign youngsters (19 and below) with potential for the first team due to homegrown rules especially in England the homegrown rules in the champions league are frustrating if u don’t pay attention to how many hgc and hgn players u have
If youre open to suggestions for new videos bud, id love to know your thoughts on players that are simply unable to remove inappropriate traits, for example ive got an incredible DLP wonderkid that likes to bomb forward. Ive been trying to remove the trait thru training, for the last 1.5 seasons and it looks like its stuck. Does it matter? Playing him DLP and having contradictory trait, does he stick with instruction or do his own thing? Or do you suggest i try to mould him more into a CM or AP/attacking role?
Hey Zealand, I’m having trouble using the newgan manager v1.4, when I click replace faces it doesn’t do anything, this is the first time I’m using it in fm24. Pls help
We have very different definitions of "healthy shortlists" though 😅 I keep track of a couple of players which I will absolutely sign if given the opportunity. I have found that in the case of having to replace a squad player (not a star necessarily) it is rather easy to just go through the scouted players. That way I can spend a LOT less time on scout reports...
You said attributes of your players go up +3 max is it only for the one you buy? because the one from my academy gained up to +9 +7 and a lots have +5 in many attibutes
What I'd really like to know & understand is why certain players even when they're playing well / on good form their attributes all start dropping/declining. Idk if you already have a video on this perhaps someone could point me in the right direction.
Future transfers is EXACTLY what I've been doing. I went from signing kids to more established players, then when all established players were mid to late twenties, I had huge squad registration issues. So I started getting a lot more under 18s again, but very carefully scouted, to get them home grown and club grown and it's working well. Some, just end up being sold as they don't ever reach potential, but some really surprise you and end up amazing!
Does anyone know how Zealand gets his newgen faces to look so good? I've downloaded the Newgan facepack for FM24 but all the faces just look so obviously AI-generated it kind of ruins the immersion, but his looks so extremely real, how does he do it?
Who is that beast called Belarmino Seca? Been playing this game since I can remember and I never came across this guy and I can't find any information on him, anywhere! I'm also portuguese and never heard about him in my life...
@zealand or anyone : what I find hard to do as a big club manager is to spend near 100m on a under 22 player, i.e. you dont know if he likes big matches or not. My philosophy still is that he has to have good personality AND good important matches. How do you feel and deal with that ?
Just signed a guy with Everton for 188 mio€. Only one world class player that was willing to join the club, and he was 22, so I just had to spend more than triple than what I've ever spent. It's also all about who you can attract.
Im on xbox playing FM, and i have 2 options. Continue my first save in 2030 with Osasuna which i took them to the ucl in 2028/29 after being with Derby county for the other szns(fa cupa winners and 1/4 of uel) 2nd option- start a new save, but im stuck if i should i start a new one because idk what team to do. Please leave suggestions for which option and if it is 2 give me a team
Man, Pape Matar Sarr is a great player, my team is Tottenham(because they dont know how win the premier or any competitions) and Pape is my best Midfielder 4.5 stars and 7.5 ovr in my first season.
It would be really nice if you could make a video on how to raise your club reputation, because it is really hard. In my save i started as a club in second tier of Croatia and even ten seasons later, after winning the last 6 national leagues and getting to the knockouts of the CL for 5 straight years (once round of 32, twice round of 16 and twice quarter-finals) i'm still at the level of Luton, Galatasaray and Olympiacos. Oh yeah, i also won a Conference League as well the season before the first CL knockouts. I sold two players in two transfer windows for 220M+ yet no top players wants to join, no matter the money.
Scout Uruguayan, Chilean and Colombian newgens would be my tip. They're so much cheaper than Brazilians and Argentinians. You can pick up wonderkids for only a few million.
I Signed Sarr at Barcelona and he’s a DAWG for me!! But he demanded 24mill/yr on his extension and kind of screwed me on the salary cap. 😂 it’s crazy how different the same players can be in different saves.
Im surprised that he didn't mention this but every single year i check the players which they contracts are about to end (1 year or less), i put in the wishlist and i sign the most valuable of them even if i need them or not, even if they demand to be the star player and they will play as sub, then they are mad and you sell him for a good price and if that offer isn't enough you still keep him as a crazy good sub or obviously if you are able to got a good loan you do it (obviously that his contract need to be reasonable to don't have a hell of wage for just a substitute and to also have a club that will pay for that wage) , i did this in my first save of FM 2024 and i got +150 Million for initially free Sucić and Greenwood
Currently doing a save with Lincoln Red Imps in Gibraltar. Pretty much always get to the champions league through the qualifying rounds, but when I get there it’s tough to get more than 4 or 5 points. How do I improve the team when it’s tough to attract good players? In 2031 atm
Play Napoli, Ive been sacked by ADL every season, in my best attempt I was top of league but brought to many older players in and so he sacked me. I think it would make a good video going into Napoli's situation, ADL expects the team to win but with the signings the team has made and lost (Kim min jae) its quite the challenge. love the vids... Forza Naples
i have a fm19 save that is pretty much this every transfer window. I have 500 mill budget barely touch any of it due to selling atleast 300 mill every year then reinvesting that into the squad and investment loan fee players.
Keren tal is a face in the game he popped out of Man City in my save and he is half Israeli ik that cause my scouts really like him as I’m with Maccabi Netanya dominating the league and hunting for those young Israeli talents that will take me to the next level as u can’t have more than 6 foreigners in the league so it’s hard
Had the same issue with a maccabi Tel Aviv save. Couldn’t get past the CL playoff round and already had by far the best team in the league. What are you up to?
@@Pullithard I’m doing an online save with a friend he is with beitar Jerusalem but he is kinda getting sick of it as I’m dominating the league so much won it 4 years in a row. last two years I got to that round before the round of 16 . @@Pullithard I did this challenge in fm22 and it was really hard I got one good striker from the academy and nothing else clubs like Maccabi petah tikva and hapoel tel aviv always seem to develop good young players like in my newer save that I mentioned here there is a 16 years old that generated at hapoel tel aviv that got into the next gen and he is easily one of the top 3 Israeli strikers in my save. Never the less I got really lucky in my youth intakes after 6 seasons I have 3 players from the academy in the starting 11 one is the best Israeli cb which is 18 years old and the 2nd best Israeli cam behind gloukh that’s worth between 15m-20m pounds, I also have a defensive midfielder that’s also 18, and 2 wingers and a cam that r the rotation options so in short I been very lucky to manage to keep these guys and develop them well in the academy that didn’t happen in my other save in 22 and there I felt stuck. Btw I finished the season I talked about earlier by finishing 4th in cl groups and losing the ROF16 to Marseille
As always that was interesting. I speak as a veteran of the franchise but i learn everyday with this amazing game. And yes i manage my friendlies lol, full 2 scouts (lol) and mode building a legacy. The only shame? my original FM 9X save was Bury. I played them for every games they sold. Now i can't i'm so sad :(
the most annoying problem with winter update is that you agree a fee and everything with the clubs and your player still decide to decline moving away.
Well said
Yep, I'm a squad rotation manager, and managing player time and happiness is the big challenge indeed. LOVE those super subs who don't complain
From my experience almost anyone can be pegged down to squad player just by changing their playing time even if they wouldn't accept a contract like that

By the time my 1st choice hits his 30s and I’m looking at cashing in on them my wonderkid is usually ready to take over or even my second choice may be good enough.
I sell players as they leave their prime:
GK - 34
Defenders - 31
Mid - 31
ST - 30
Which ensures I’m getting a good payout for my stars and keeping things fresh
for me defender higher n my dm

Got plenty of players over the years that would otherwise have never signed for me.
Lol this is strat is devious 😂😂, I love to do it in a save
On my main save this year, I learned a lot to have that "everyone is sellable for the right price" mentality. I found two Argentinian superstars early in their career and I thought they'd be here forever, especially because I was playing in Spain and one of them was Italian 2nd nationality. Two years later both were gone to the prem for over 200€M. Each. It was hard for me to actually do it because I thought they were going to win me everything this year but after looking at potential replacements I saw that I could replace both for less that what one of them would bring me, and actually built a team full of players of that caliber in almost all my positions, winning everything 2 years in a row.

It's never easy watching stars you created go
What Argentina wonder kids did you get?
A “long term save” in its 3rd season? Am I missing something?
@@Matt-eq3zw the idea is it will be long term
@@ZoeDS did you won the league?
Love that you show Camavinga as a utility player.Dude's probably only 19/20 and the sky could still be the ceiling for him in centre mid.

Would love to see this spreadsheet. I love a good spreadsheet

Finally this might be the video I'm waiting for my Brighton save 5 years in I'm stuck between mid table and just missing european football
How can you make a Brighton save bad? I won' the league and Europa league in the 3rd season
Leaning in to "You hate Man U" is my favorite part of this video
since 2013 i play same old FM14 with same old my own database. I degraded Millwall to lowest league added players like buffon, pirlo, torres, adriano (striker), kaka, ronaldinho, gerrard, terry, vidic, Xabi, and so on - set their potential to 200, changed their age to 16, and anchored their contract to 2099 :)
this game still gives me so much joy to bully teams like PSG, Barcelona, Man City or so on - and yes im aware that im cheating but as long as im doing this in my game, and it does not hurt anyone else i guess is fine :)
You can pretty much almost always bring down the playing time by choosing the option of "I must say you are not of that quality" or something like that (top line first right one to the center). Didnt work only once when I used it on my best CD, but then I brought better CD and it worked again. So its working 9 out of 10 times I would say
Until they come with "I my client doesnt think, that he has the ability to make a breakthrough here and wants to leave".
@@lisaruhm6681 The trick to that is to go for the mutual termination option, and this leads to your board denying it because 'the player is too valuable to let go'. This also satisfies the player so its an easy win.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZEALAND
One of my main problems this year has been promising playing time. There were a lot of players on my team that every time I wanted to renew them they wanted more and more playing time even if they didn't have the skill to be a "superstar"... I struggled more renewing players than signing them and all because they were always asking more playing time and they never wanted to negotiate less.
I feel attacked when Zealand talked about being sacked as United's manager, because literally yesterday I was sacked by them in my save
This guy is incredible, has been providing this video quality and incredible tips on FM for years. And I'm not even talking about his spontaneity and how funny he makes it. Thanks Zea
He's the GOAT and always brings good vibes. I can't be in a bad mood after watching his videos/streams (unless I'm a Man utd fan lol)
you should make a video about the dark arts of football manger. save scumming, transfer exploits etc
Just wondering, what is the newgen facepack you are using?
The original Zealand newgan facepack…
That seems like one whole squad too many, even for the Prem.
Sign him as star player. The day he arrives, lower it to what you think is best. He will get furious, but will get over it in a few months.
How old was he? Sometimes with the 18 year olds they assume they are going into your youth team so Star Player reflects that level. Just signed a guy in Serie A who wanted Star Player which scared me, then clicked through and saw he wanted £8k per week so this was referring to my youth teams.

Love seeing all our Twitch and Zealand Live favourites in a main channel video. :)
I was literally looking for a video like this yesterday
I feel like I never get offers for guys. Like if I list them anywhere close to their value, no teams are ever interested
Your player might be given a certain value, but it doesn't mean he's worth the same to other clubs without the same reputation or money, you might have to lower your expectations a bit
the player value is what YOUR staff value him at, not other teams. Same as when buying, just use the value as a rough estimate not exact
If i tried to sell players the way zealand does i would have revolt immediately. Most of the tricks he does do not work on my saves ...
I think it depends from save to save. Here are a few things I do:
1) Offer them out at a lower value to start a bidding war (I believe Zealand has covered this in a previous video).

I've been saying about the scouting knowledge part for ages now. I have 8 scouts all with knowledge of 228 countries (the entire world). It's class.
How does he set up the “SPEEED” scouting focus?
How do you sort the scouting, like one assignment was named "Speed". If you cant add attributes to scout for anymore (like pace and acceleration), how do you go about making that assignment and what does it consist of???
Thought this too, there’s statistical stuff you can add but not attributes so not sure how that works exactly
How do you search for specific attributes like the speed focus?
When you set these scouts do you set areas? And do you assign a set scout per position or just all left over scouts looking for them?

Just wondering how do I start making these different shortlists to meet these certain criteria’s, I’m confused, what do I need to input?
I think my challenge is actively assessing players correctly. Sometimes I just sign a player and sell another because it feels good too but not necessarily because I know the player is better.
What is the "holy trinity" you mentioned at 21:40?
dribbling, finishing, and first touch attributes.
Hey zealand a fifa youtuber named tsarbucks want to change from fifa to fm .Thought you could help him
Lmao this is why I can’t do a Tottenham save, I’m too emotionally connected to players like Sarr and Deki
Oh... €3-5 mill range is my fave technique on finding hidden gems.
Z saying so many facts about the game 🔥
Very interesting scouting method, has anyone else had success with this? The recruitment focuses are super tedious in newer versions and this looks much easier
2:40 is that Belarmino Seca a real player? If so, what league do you need to find him?
Hi! When you said that locker room atmosphere was what wins and loses you games, has anyone tested that? I'm thinking there might be a risk that it is kind of a "the chicken or the egg" type of situation where statistically when there is good atmosphere you win OR is it just that when you win there is good atmosphere?
Yall should sign youngsters (19 and below) with potential for the first team due to homegrown rules especially in England the homegrown rules in the champions league are frustrating if u don’t pay attention to how many hgc and hgn players u have
I came for travel suggestions cause someone told me there's a new Zealand video.
A solid second channel video.
How does one look for pacey players? You can't scout for attributes anymore so what's the workaround? Height and weight?

6:30 All I can hear is Hank Hill there.
What I'd really like to know & understand is why certain players even when they're playing well / on good form their attributes all start dropping/declining. Idk if you already have a video on this perhaps someone could point me in the right direction.
Great videos really helpful for new players, I brought some random Japanese striker for a laugh as he was 6'5 and he's popped off with estevao 🤣
My problem is that I always get the same pull over and over. I've had 8 or 9 banes in 15 or 16 summons over 3 summon cycles.
@zealand how to you create a recruitment focus looking for fast players? i wasn't aware you could make a recruitment focus off of stats
In the recruitment focus window there is further details and the drop down you can add pace and acceleration attributes to the focus
How big a player database you play with? Any advice on that?

@zealand or anyone : what I find hard to do as a big club manager is to spend near 100m on a under 22 player, i.e. you dont know if he likes big matches or not. My philosophy still is that he has to have good personality AND good important matches. How do you feel and deal with that ?
Just signed a guy with Everton for 188 mio€. Only one world class player that was willing to join the club, and he was 22, so I just had to spend more than triple than what I've ever spent. It's also all about who you can attract.

I think sadly the answer is that it happens slowly over time by winning and signing better players
