my jvc hr-j205eg does not fully eject the cassete. it won't play any tape either as the timer is stuck on 0:00. it also won't rewind, only fast forward works.
Does not look like your take up motor is working or belt may be perished. If those don't work your tape will spill out like that on eject since it can't back the tape back into the cassette and it will not play. The capstan drives the tape but if the machine does not detect the take up spool moving it will shut off.
thanks. i took it apart entirely and still can't find the mode switch. i think that's the problem but only if i could identify it. i can't find a circuit diagram anywhere for it.
@@razvan6133 theres a youtube channel called 12voltvids he has tons of videos on how to clean mode switches on vcr's, he is really good at what he does. That should give you an idea.
