Roam across an expansive meadow - dotted by colorful wildflowers and stunning views in the distance. Exhale and cool down while meandering along the shady path beneath a canopy of ancient California redwoods, the oldest living things in the garden. As you continue along the path crossing Mission Creek, you’ll find more shade in the canyon area - or wooded dell.
The Santa Barbara Botanic Garden is located in the hills of Mission Canyon, less than ten miles from the beach. But, on a sunny summer day, temperatures could be 20 degrees warmer than the coast. Because of this, it’s more comfortable to visit when the weather is moderate.
There are lots of unique sights to see throughout the garden..with things to delight all ages. This is an ever-shifting landscape throughout the seasons, you’re sure to find new and different plant life during each visit
There’s a plant store and gift shop. Cross the road to see the Island View area, featuring views of the ocean - and channel islands on a clear day.
