    Love watching your builder gel videos! Sadly there’s not nearly as much here on RUclips as there are acrylic videos. Beautiful as always!

    Is the violet carbide bit in coarse or medium grit? I’m assuming coarse, but Erica has both versions and I want to order the correct one. Thank you for your excellent tutorials.

    I just completed my gel nail technician course, so I’m a beginner.
    When prepping the finished shaped nail for nail art, I find that the nail art gel “bleeds” into the scratch marks from my finish file. Do you buff is smooth before you apply the design to avoid that? What grit do you use? I don’t want to buff it so much that it wrecks the shaping I just finished.
    Btw, love your work ❤️

    My luminary in drive and serenity is always separating, is there a reason why it would be doing this? I stir it right before using it and it’ll still separate while I’m working with it on the nail.

    • @NailsByKatieDutra
      @NailsByKatieDutra  2 года назад

      How old is it? The shelf life for Luminary is about 1 year, and unfortunately around that time it will start to separate.

  • @cynthiajones9621
    @cynthiajones9621 2 года назад

    Great video. You use a lot of different brands. I noticed you used one coat for the stripes and checker board. Between Akzentz luxio and magpie, what would work for only using one coat for art?

    • @NailsByKatieDutra
      @NailsByKatieDutra  2 года назад

      The Magpie gels are a little thicker so I probably used their Like A Diamond top coat 😀 Its also possible I top coated twice and just didn't show it.

    Is luminary nails hema free?

    • @NailsByKatieDutra
      @NailsByKatieDutra  2 года назад

      It has Bonded HEMA. So it is generally safe for clients with a HEMA allergy because the molecules are bonded together so they aren't small enough to absorb.
