I heard you say this blanket can be made in 7 hours. I’m like no way. Somehow you can speed crochet faster than me. I can do a double crochet fast but couldn’t do that blanket in only 7 hours. I also love to knit, but I drive for Fedex ground and crocheting these items don’t take too much concentration. Motion sickness when my codriver is driving is not good, lol. @Craft and Crochet I finished both of my Blankets. Since I had leftover yarn I decided to make the sister of one of the Baby's a little purse. I did 45 chain. I slip stitched them together to do it in a round.Then of course ch 3 to start the dc. DC in ea of the rest of the 44 ch to make 45 dc. I did 12 rows, 6 dc rows and 5 rows of the ch 3 and Sc in space between the 3rd and 4th dc as your instruction. Then I did your edging. I made handles by ch 24 using Blue, Pink and White for one handle and Yellow, Green and White for the other handle. It could hold an IPAD.

Omgosh, Ive done my blanket with the white and Ive just finished the first pink border and Im half way through the white border before starting the next colour. This is the first crochet project ive ever done and Im so proud of myself. That makes you a great teacher, seeing as Ive never crocheted in my life. Ive even done 4 of the caterpillars body. One thing Im finding is that my edges on the blanket are all curling up!!!! Looks great but for the edges. Can you wash and iron these? How will I stop the edges from curling up on my last row!? Please help xxxx
That’s a beautiful set, I crocheted a bunch of sets last year anticipation of my first grandbaby coming. But unfortunately my daughter miscarried and now I have all of these sets and yarn and no desire to continue. But it was a pleasure listening to your voice and your teachings.
That is so sad. Have you thought of maybe making a teddy or doll or something else and using the clothes so your daughter can have a memorial gift to remember, cherish and cuddle when needing comfort. That's what I would do as I think that if I'd been in your situation, I couldn't gift the set to my daughter in the event she went on to have a successful pregnancy, as she would always know that it was for the lost baby and it might be too upsetting. By utilising the set for a teddy, a doll or another type of toy, then she will have a memorial gift. You could consider giving the teddy, doll or whatever you think be suitable some wings to represent the baby as an angel. My niece list her baby last year at the start of spring, the first quarter of the Covid pandemic, at the time I'd started making a blanket for the baby. I turned the blanket into an angel blanket for her to put the baby in for the funeral. I also made a similar one for my niece to use in her memories box with the other items I'd made. I just couldn't use them for someone else's baby as in the back of my mind would always be that they were made for someone else who died...but the recipient would know as well and might feel uncomfortable or uneasy accepting a gift that had been made for another child. That's how I feel and what I did. Please accept my condolences to you all. It's a very difficult period for mothers, miscarriages are very difficult for mothers but with the current situation, is unbearable as the mother will be alone without any usual support due to social distances...such a horrible time. I hope your daughter was and is able to get the right support during the initial time.

Would you use the usual bright red, green, white colours? Maybe the metallic silver, red and green maybe a row of white in between each colour. Or would you use the pastel colours, red, green and white. Or slightly darker? Just wondering as my daughter is expecting Xmas or New Year timeframe and thinking about maybe making a set in Xmas colours but whether to use traditional DK colours, or the metallic, pastels or varying shades.
