For once you finally have to start considering defense (it'll be a while): you can take hits either with your Nikke's cover or the Nikkes themselves. Generally if it looks like an energy attack rather than bullets or missiles you'd rather it hit cover; the ways to force Nikkes to take cover are either to manually control a Nikke and just not shoot or to hit the "everybody take cover" toggle which should be your space bar. A lot of the time you actually don't want to use cover as it's much easier to find a Nikke who's a combat healer (mass-produced model iDoll Ocean will almost certainly be in your roster within the first week) than a Nikke who can restore or reinforce cover, but bosses will typically have at least one attack you should be hiding from if you can't prevent them from using it. Most physical projectiles can be destroyed while incoming, and typically a rocket launcher or shotgun will work best against groups of those - but it'll take experience to learn whether they're worth paying attention to. Your Nikkes might actually shoot these down on their own, but it's uncommon. Also you should read all her skills if you get a chance they give some insight into her thoughts.
Not that surprising I'd say, one of the best gacha game alongside NIKKE; Azur Lane is composed by lead female artists and CEO, many women are actually in the lead in many gacha games, especially in Korea.

If you miss the dialogue, you can re-read it from the Log menu on the top right of the screen I can tell that it's really hard to balance between reading the chats and reading the story, but its probably better to re-focus before you click away so you don't miss the plot Also, welcome new commander 🎉
The Collabs are actually canon to the story. There's a Rapture running around called the Gatekeeper that summons bosses from other universes to try and kill us all. Unfortunately, for it it also pulls in the heroes of that universe too.

I saw you skipped on some of the younger looking nikkes while going through the nikkepedia. Don't worry about lewding "lolis". This game doesn't do that. The school girls have like a schoolgirl crush on Commander but he doesn't reciprocate. Kids like Anne(N102), Alice (she has childlike mentality) , and Rei Commander is basically a father figure. There's a few others that are adults with small bodies like Liter, Guillotine, Poli, Miranda, Yuni, and Signal. But even then they don't go beyond a few shy moments. Basically don't worry about the underage looking ones doing risqué stuff in the game. Chat during stream is a different matter tho.
Yeah now that I've done a bit more I'm not as worried. It's a much more tasteful and thoughtful gotcha than I was expecting given how I was introduced to it(RUclips shorts of certain Nikkes >.>).
Lowkey hurt my soul a bit to not see anyone tell you to check squads when going through Nikkes. You get a rundown on what the squad is for (lorewise) and can see the other members
@@TheLayaKat It's really useful to give you a general idea of them and why they might have certain designs. Also most teams have some kind of naming scheme to them. Rupee, Yan, and Dolla are on a squad together and are all named after currencies Yan (Yen), Rupee, and Dolla (Dollar), for example

There's a slight red glow in her eyes as soon as the colour comes up in the first cutscene. Most people are just distracted by other things.
