To answer some of your questions at the end, Min Hee-jin is a traitor. Hybe is not perfect, but Min Hee-jin is delusional. She already has her due and is just greedy to get more. She is the highest paid official at Hybe. She makes a higher salary than the current CEO of Hybe (side note: Bang PD is the Chairman of the Board, but he resigned his position as CEO so he could spend more time producing music.) Bang PD also let Min Hee-jin borrow money from him so she could purchase more shares of Ador, and she still owes him money for that loan, so she is trying to steal multiple things from Hybe--money, a label, and the girl group New Jeans. He bent over backwards to give her what she wanted, but she started making requests that he couldn't in good conscience fulfill. To give you an idea of how far she's gone, Ador's offices are located on the top floor of he Hybe building, above Big Hit and BTS. She deliberately chose to release New Jeans' music when RM had scheduled to release his new album to directly compete. She wants to defeat Hybe and BTS. But what is almost worse is she has brainwashed the New Jeans' girls and their parents into believing they need her to succeed, even after her text messages were released to the public where she called the members lazy and fat. She takes credit for all of their achievements and doesn't give credit to the girls, and I think some of the members are still minors.

Also, she took the New Jeans trainees from the label Source Music and transferred them to Ador, which means she left Source Music with a bunch of trainee debt, which her label does not have. There's a ton more that she's done that is very shady.

People want to see bts fall so bad, it’s been like this ever since bts started surpassing the biggest groups at the time. As a 2014 army I am so tired of these smear campaigns, I saw a tweet a few weeks ago saying veteran armys (armys that have been with bts since their early years) have become numb to all of this and that is very true, I witnessed other kpop fans, the media, and now MH try to take down bts and they have failed every time. The cult rumors are outrageous, it’s like people find it so hard to believe that bts’s success is organic so they will spread/ believe this rumors. I hope Hybe vs ador feud ends soon because Jin is coming back soon and it’s a shame if he comes back to the company him and his group built from the ground up, in chaos. MH has shown that she is against bts, bts’s money was used to fund her group/company yet she was clearly planning something since she contacted Bts’s accountant, she has no business reaching out to their accountant. I find the first video is biased as she left out important facts on the situation and seemed to be leaning towards painting MH as a victim when it’s clear the only victims here are the groups dragged into this mess.

I think when you say "she's trying to get her due" it's because of that first video being your introduction. it's HIGHLY biased and inaccurate.
Here's the shortest version I can think of: she cherry-picked the best trainees out of Source music (with them having trained them) so they took the financial hit to prepare them, took them, created Ador, did heavy media play to call NwJns BTSs little sisters, (two of them even appeared in one of their big English MVs), used heavy media play using BTSs name, and when you look at the chats and timings, the planning to do this started before Illit debuted, so they were most likely just a useful excuse (as you could see, she accused other groups of "copying" also). She planned to damage hybe to the point where either she could force them to buy her out to make it stop (with her getting tons of money) or making them vulnerable to takeover. Either way, she absolutely had been planning this for a while and was planning to use private info of artists to hurt them and HYBE... she is NOT a victim in any way, shape or form.
...oh and BSH loaned her a million dollars for her stake in the company to begin with.

For the record, I still don’t think Illit copied New Jeans, but I think MHJ knew there would be enough superficial similarities even before their debut to make kpoppies believe her bullshit so she could cry out about mistreatment.
Most kpop girl groups exist on a sliding scale from girl crush to cute in terms of concept, and with underage members in the group- does MHJ think debuting minors is her own original idea?- cute was the safe option. There are also other restrictions caused by them having girls who are still in high school in the group, including that they can’t dye their hair, so a more natural look makes sense styling wise (again not a copyrightable concept.) But the thing is, even if both groups use cute concepts, they both have very different interpretations of it. Illit has gone for a soft, girly vibe, while New Jeans from the beginning has had this tomboyish, athletic, confident vibes. They have the same concept in the way that Mamamoo and Blackpink have the same concept- technically both girl crush if you squint.
The other similarity they have is literally caused by neither of the groups having any powerhouse vocalists or experienced rappers, so maybe if you don’t know shit about music or genre, you might thing they have a similar sound when in reality they just have a similar tone. They’re not even in the same genre, New Jean’s foundation is R&B and they’ve been going into different club styles with their newer releases, while Illit only has a couple of songs so far, they’re way more into house and synthpop then anything New Jeans has ever released.
The comparisons between them is skin deep, but that’s enough to convince Kpoppies because so many of them have zero reading comprehension skills.
I do wonder if Jonathan will do a “reacting to Illit because fuck Min Hee Hin” video, but honestly, I’m pretty sure they’re not his vibe and that’s perfectly okay.
Edit for added note: Belift (aka the sub-label behind Illit) is now suing MHJ for defamation

Nothing she's done was 100% original so she has no right to cry about copying. The way Kookielit uses "BigHit" and "HYBE" interchangeably is also incorrect. BigHit is BTS and TXT's music label, which existed independently long prior to HYBE's creation. HYBE is the corporate company that was established by Bang PD in 2019, which controls several businesses and labels *including* BigHit, Source Music and ADOR. To suggest that BigHit and HYBE are one and the same is to a) exaggerate BigHit and BTS' power and influence in this situation, and b) place blame on BTS by extension. HYBE is controlled by a board of execs, and Bang PD is not the CEO but the Chairman and Founder. BigHit, also founded by Bang PD, operates independently of HYBE but is still under its influence to a certain degree. I don't know all the specifics but Kookielit is twisting the narrative by making "BTS' company" seem like the bad guys.

The most absurd thing with all this "copying" accusations against HYBE groups is that turns out, this is New Jeans who copied older groups music and choreography.
Also, Min He-Jin keeps dragging New Jeans members and their parents into this mess and this will damage their careers so much, I'm not sure they could recover from this. And these girls are teenagers, so this should be the beginning of their careers. It's really sad.

i mean, you’re right about the whole “jealousy” thing in kpop overall, but i doubt that’s the sole reason for big hit music only debuting male groups. specially since now hybe is a thing. the company already has girl groups, many whom interact with bts, and big hit is still only accepting male trainees. also, imagine the age difference a new gg would have in relation to bts lol idols nowadays are also constantly interacting and filming tiktoks with groups from other companies too, but even if it was strictly about sharing the same workspace, there are ggs there already. even before the “new gg project”, gfriend and fromis_9 were technically already there at that point. so it makes no sense for that to be the only reason to not debut a gg under big hit. bang pd has mentioned how big hit works better with bgs (whatever that means) and having their only gg in history have such a big controversy probably weights in that decision too, but saying it’s just so armys don’t get jealous is crazy 😭
cuz they seriously went “he was reluctant to debut a gg, but when he “finally gave in” he told her it had to be under a different label bcs of “bts fangirls being jealous 😡” even tho all labels under hybe use the same building + txt is there too and would probably be closer in age to any new group they tried to make”

Hybe owns NewJeans songs, name etc, so if NewJeans breaks a contract they leaving with nothing + debt for breaching contract. Could be 5050 situation. But if Hybe lets NewJeans go..... Thats why mhj sayings hybe mistreats newjeans. Which how? By claiming Bang pd didn't say hello back in elevator, while in 2023 each member yearned 7milions. Me personally would give 0 fcks over boss not saying hi to me. But that's maybe just me.
And you need to see dialogue revealed how mhj talks about the girls. Thats disturbing. She has also certain reputation about young girls too.
Also when it all started before BTS becoming the target & shaman dialogue & Bang pd copying her with BTS, when Hybe revealed she needs to go, because of her project against Hybe & her revealing idols private information, inside label abuse etc, mhj came out with response these groups copy paste, ignoring serious accusation. Then that press came out & she was just blah blah, while her lawyers seemed done with her & tried to shush her.
The whole mess seems like kdrama, where vilains just babling to sway people, while main character just sits & lets vilain put foot in theirs mouth. And then its main characters time to speak.
While BTS got in the middle of that mess just because they build Hybe from near bankruptcy label.

Yeah, no on MHJ. She's a manipulator and is not just doing things the wrong way, she was doing things the illegal way. Beyond that, she was sharing information about minors to outside parties, let alone all of the other confidential information she was sharing. I am not defending Hybe in any way - entertainment companies are shady by nature. I have so many issues with her, though, stemming back to her work with Shinee and through everything she's pulling now. She can drag Bang PD all she wants, I really don't care. It's all this other crap that I have a huge problem with. The one thing I will say is that all she's done is drop rumors and tried to sway public opinion - she never once addressed the very real legal issues she's been accused of. Bora barely scratched the surface of everything that is going on since she focused (understandably) on BTS.
Also, it's a little rich for her to be accusing anyone of plagiarizing NJ considering they are an almost exact replica of a group from Mexico.

main takeaway for me from this situation is: i don't trust hybe officials a single bit, i think most of them are shady money hungry people who don't care about bts and bighit and what they built and most of them came in only after hybe was created anyway, to collect money. so they're not clean either. but damn min heejin is absolutely insane. firstly, the plagiarism claims - it's basically her saying there can only be one group of very young girls making rnb type music in korea with jumpy moves in their choreography, because that's newjeans style!!! what is she smoking? it's easy to see what she's trying to do there because your eyes see vague similarities, but when you sit down and think about it, it's as dumb as bts plagiarism accusations about school outfits and hair colours. it's nonsense. and they don't even do the same type of music, they just have childish girl voices so your brain connects the two dots. newjeans do mostly rnb and the y2k concept, illit just have a general cute concept and their music isn't really pure rnb like that. the main thing connecting them is they are both very young, and min heejin probably has an issue with that because that's her actual main selling point with newjeans, if you look at all her words in this fiasco. not to mention the fact newjeans and min heejin have their own plagiarism accusation looming, of them copying a mexican group called jeans. the photo evidence has funnily, coincidentally, now been removed from the korean forum where it came from, but the evidence looked more solid than the illit copying newjeans accusation from min heejin, ironically.
secondly, min heejin's press conference was an absolute trainwreck in which she basically didn't manage to defend herself a single bit, just go on the attack by using the fact she's a woman and big 3 company kpop fans hate hybe and some crocodile tears to turn the situation in her favour. i've been following the situation from the start, followed the press conference live and i was flabbergasted by the fact it had that effect on the public considering how comical it was. she is evil, but she's also very smart. as she said in the messages leaked, she doesn't care about actually being correct, she only cares about how the headlines affect the general audience, who don't care enough to check the context or follow the situation thoroughly enough to see if the headline is correct. they only care that illit is accused of copying newjeans, not if it actually holds any water if you sit there and check. they only care that bts is accused of plagiarism, sajaegi, being in a cult and whatever else, they don't care to actually see if it's true or not and they will regurgitate that point for years to come. that's her strategy, and it's working for her.
the only good thing is this thing has gone to court, and unless she managed to buy the court too, i hope this situation gets resolved swiftly and bts don't have to come back to this mess.
in conclusion, bang pd screwed up by letting the snake in and giving her too much power and now both bts and he have to pay for it.

38:02 i thought a lot about this recently, and to me is not /just/ about the “success” itself. of course lots of people are jealous, but why are there so many moves to smear their names, instead of simply trying to beat them in the actual game? (even if by trying to copy them, which many indeed try)
to me, it always goes like this… you have a person/group that is:
    1) successful (artistic-wise and money-wise)
    2) loved and admired by millions around the world
    3) impossible to actually copy/replace
    4) genuine/honest people
that will evoke jealousy, envy and anger, specially when gradually starting to realize each of these aspects. being jealous of someone’s success can be “harmless” if it simply motivates you to do better. but not being able to deal with greed/envy is what leads them to fall down this specific route:
    1) first, just trying to recreate their success (money, sales/stream numbers, prizes/awards, recognition, etc.)
if they fail to do it organically, they might cut corners or “cheat” to get some of those things (as many do), but they will soon face the next challenge:
    2) getting a huge fanbase to back that up. not only having loyal/supporting fans, but _millions_ of people loving and appreciating your work.
    3) since bts’ legendary level of success/recognition can’t actually be copied in all fronts (artistic value + achievements + amount of support + wealth/fame), this is when people realize they can’t do much but hope for their downfall. either to finally be able to their place as “the most successful xyz”, or to at least eliminate the unreachable standard for everybody else.
since a disbandment will likely not happen any time soon (organic downfall), they hope for a huge scandal to end them, but…
    4) they are actually morally correct people (who would’ve thought!) and barely have scandals at all - much less a huge, unforgettable scandal that would end their careers.
so what’s left to do? well… just blow the irrelevant “scandals” they _do_ have out of proportion. not enough? twist, misconstrue, misinterpret something they said/did or that could be related/linked to them somehow. not enough? just pick at every single flaw/mistake you can find, no matter how tiny it is. still not enough? just fabricate it. make stuff up.
and what we have been seeing, for years, is the amalgamation of all that.
while random haters and keyboard warriors are most likely just jealous, and angry at their own jealousy (they can’t process that envy → it turns to hatred → they justify it with anything they possibly can), there certainly is an amount of people who are very much aware of what they are doing. they are the ones fueling the “random” haters/antis and actively using any power/influence they have to push narratives, engage in media play and facilitate the circulation of hateful discourse. [and just to be clear, these are the people i refer to as “they” when talking about the steps of trying to recreate bts, not necessarily the ones who’d “take their place”]
so then you got people spreading their agenda, and you got people desperately waiting for their hatred to be validated, all of them pushing narratives - whether by having the power to bait the masses or by being easily swayed/wanting to engaging with it.

So much has happened since this video, when it is resolved i hope she makes another video. Mhj has been lying so so much amd doing sooooo much shady shit. That first vid was just regurgitating her arguments after she was caught by the audit. She even wanted to pay to release new jeans from ador so that ador would be an empty shell she could then have someone favorable to her buy so she could buy it away from hybe for herself. She is spreading rumors and damaging reputations of young members of other groups and imo is unsafe to keep at hybe...not to mention all of the illegal business shes doing.

I personally think that aside from some aspects of ILLIT, the plagiarism accusations are ridiculous. Surely MHJ was aware that by debuting a highly-anticipated group with a unique concept she would start a trend? That's just how the kpop industry works - groups follow trends, and with 5th gen it has been all about modernising 90s and 2000s aesthetics, with NewJeans at the helm. She has only catalysed the popularisation of a trend that already existed.

im not on mhj's side in how she's been accusing groups of plagiarism n the smear campaigns, but i do think theres nuance as to why she's being believed in Korea. its the feminist movement. she's the only female ceo in that building, and whether she's telling the truth or not about sexism, i understand why feminists might feel for her. as we see when we watch 'marry my husband', the culture in the workplace is very different over there. i also think that the shaman was taking advantage of her fragile mental state, which probably didnt help with her going off the rails.
either way, im kind of worried about how things are gonna look when jin comes back :/

The fists video siding with MHJ 😂 making it seem as if she's a saint and Bang pd the only bad guy. Both of them did wrong, Bang pd was wrong for letting that SM snake in, that was a huge mistake. He gave her too much power, maybe he was in love with her cuz why tf would he give so much money, benefits, brand deals to someone who comes from SM, a rival company.
