Wow, this is the second DLC sized mod that has come out this past week!
(Well it will be DLC sized when its finished, from what it seems like!)
I am really curious where this one is headed lore wise, since the events seem to be happening post saint... :o
Mod is "Desiccation " by "airy"!
(It is still a heavy work in progress, but it's worth trying out!)

Hello, I'm a friend of the creator of the mod! I'm sure you felt like you missed a few things, as there's no clear way to find them neither in the description, or through gameplay. I won't spoil too much, but I can say the abilities of the slugcats :)
Dreamer:
Diet is dependent on karma level! Low karma makes the Dreamer carnivorous, while high karma makes it herbivorous. It can also maul on low karma.
The dreamer can do a serious of mid-air jumps at max karma (same as arti, different effect), and is heavily nerfed if you're below max karma.
The Dreamer also cannot digest mushrooms (intended), and there's a bug where the Dreamer cannot pick up karma flowers while holding spears.
The Dreamer can also hold two lantern mice at once!
Immune to worm grass :)
Design wise it only has four arms and four eyes when its at max karma.
Is cold immune at max karma.
The Siren:
Based of an inside joke, no clue if Saltedsour/Airy will actually make it a character lol.
The Viper:
The newest slugcat! Has one arm and potent venom!
Stun a creature to maul it (careful not to take too long though!) and wait for your venom to take hold.
Has a weak spear throw, as to encourage players to use it's venomous maul.
The Trailblazer:
Slow walking speed, fast crawling speed.
Due to its spiky body, it can roll, slam, and fall on creatures to damage them in the same way as gourmand!
It cannot use spears, or fall on to hurt scavengers as they are friends! There's some issues with this though, as you can still roll to inflict damage onto scavengers, as well as throw spears at them when they're stunned.
In turn scavengers are hard-coded to not to be able to hurt Trailblazer either, unless targeting a different creature and the Trailblazer is in the way... such as vultures.
Has a tongue for mobility.
Is cold immune.
The Idk:
I don't know what the "IDK" is and I'm too scared to ask.
The world has changed quite a bit from where we left The Saint, only through exploration one can find the changes :)
LTTM and 5P both have expansive dialogue, and more! Though currently trying to access 5P crashes the game, one can still use the warp mod to teleport directly to his room.

I figured I hadn't explored enough as the dreamer yet, I noticed while warping that the outskirts was changed so I knew I definitely missed things, but the video was already so long that I figured I would leave it for a part 2 :P
(Which will definitely need to happen now that I have the full extent of the slugcat's haha)
We haven’t seen much but the dreamer slugcat seems interesting, the description says seems to tell that it is a slugcat with A BUTTLOAD of knowledge of the past and has some unique abilities and the karma flower part seems odd
Yeah for sure! I didn't play a ton with the dreamer yet, but it seems to be the most developed one along with the trailblazer!
The dreamer is absolutely fucking broken as well. Dude can chase after vultures

i've heard the karma flowers were there to represent monk and survivor from another video i watched about the mod, but im not sure
26:08, She did! But I noticed it's called the Bloody Monument, and monument means "a reminder of something notable or great."
We saw where Monk and Survivor ended their journey, those two karma flowers in OE at the start of Dreamer's campaign. Perhaps the scavengers did respect Arti in some way after all; all of those /explosive/ flowers on the throne do look like they were planted there intentionally; either to honor her life and death as a warrior, or to mourn it.
It's called bloodied monument, but only in Trailblazer's campaign. To others, it's "Mourner's Tower"

I’m so excited for this mod!! The Trailblazer really got me hooked- I was shocked when I recognized the new area as collapsed Metropolis, I LOVE that.
I play lots of custom slugcats too. I found the Diverse Shelters mod can mess with the starting position. At least it did for the Outsider.
Just a observation. Otherwise, great video and will certainly check out the mod myself.

the ambient noise in those snowy rooms for the scavcat seems to be a bit too loud and it stays consistently monotonous from room to room, they could atleast make the volume different depending on which room you are in if not adding in different sounds
I would do that but most of the time I do not play with audio on

While the mod looks good I sadly can’t really play it, I freeze and have to alt-f4 every Time I hibernate

i had a mod idea.. the slugcat's name was the dreamer... it was set in the far far future... thats great now all that concepting is for nothing because its just gonna be seen as a copy of this
You can, just, like… name it something else and then it would be fine
All you need is another name, tbh
Sorry. Your slugcat is now the legally distinct slugcat known as the "insomniac" because they cannot dream ever or else they're a copy of mine.
While making concepts and having ideas is cool, we can't just take up names and slots with ideas, otherwise it will kill the creativity of those who release mods themselves.
I suggest that if you want to bring a concept to life and "reserve" it, you should look into slugbase and try to cook something up for the workshop, it's easier than you think :)
Lets be real. YOu were never gonna put in the effort to make the mod anyways.
