The tie that came with the neutral dress is probably for your hair… Last year I was given a lot of really pretty vintage pieces from my aunt’s closet when she passed away and every dress had a hair accessory like that. If you have the urge to cut so many pieces of clothing lol you should really just sign up for a sewing class at a junior college! Even community centers sometimes have classes taught by older ladies who just want to share their skills.
I looooove that dress as a skirt! I don't think it's a sin at all to alter vintage clothing. A piece will get more use and not go to the landfill if someone upcycles it into something they love and will wear often.
Upcycling/altering vintage clothes is ok if there are already pretty much your size, but it is very much frowned upon in the vintage community to buy something that’s way too big and completely change it, because finding good quality vintage clothing in larger (and even mid) sizes is already really difficult. If you’re not that keen on it, just leave it for someone else who is that size and will love it. I actually really liked the floral dress as a dress (minus the shoulder pads 😂) so maybe do as someone else suggested and have it made into a two-piece skirt and blouse, so you can mix and match them separately or together. The little pink lace jacket was super cute! That looked like such a great vintage shop!
Completely agree!! Make it a 2 piece that would be so adorable bc you could wear it with a less modest bottom to balance it out! Everything looked absolutely adorable as usual 😁
DYING over the light green dress. Absolutely gorgeous. I would wear 50s/60s dresses to work everyday if I could find them in my size. Looked adorable on you!!! Also love the pink jacket. Great idea with the bralette. May even look good with a white bralette!
Altering vintage clothes was my favorite thing to do in my twenties! (I'm 34 now) the one piece I got the most compliments on was a long sleeve jumpsuit I turned into a sleeveless mini dress, don't be afraid to alter your clothes, it's so much fun and you'll have one of a kind pieces that you'll be so proud of
Really liked this sip and thrift! That second dress is stunning on you and also love the cardigan. I think if you alter an vintage item of clothing and that makes the item in a way you love and wear the piece, it is always the best thing to do. Instead of buying new we have to try to wear as much clothes that are already available to help the planet and if that means the items need some alterations than yes I am all for it. And how amazing you have a unique one of kind piece to show and that item that was laying on someone’s attic now can be loved and worn again. Love it! ❤️
Sip and vintage thrift is a definite yes - you look amazing in vintage. I think it speaks to you and fits your personality. The floral skirt would be beautiful. Maybe you could remove the shoulder pads and keep the top to go with jeans.
I absolutely love everything! Definitely turn that dress into a skirt! The sweater/jacket was so adorable with the jeans! That beige dress was stunning on you! Get it repaired. It was a gem. I would also look into altering that last dress. The pattern is great and would look so good on you. I love vintage clothes. Still my favorite go to’s when I want edgy or sophisticated cool.
OMGoodness, you should make hunting for Vintage Clothing your next great hobby. That pale colored dress looked like it was custom made for you. All of your Vintage Clothes seem to fit you so nice. You def would nvr see a repeat on anyone else that is for sure. You could hv so many one of a kind pieces & those gems are out there, you just need to find them. This was a fun video & Id love to see more Vintage shopping days!! TFS
I love the vintage clothes. Don't feel bad about changing the dress into a skirt. The classy boat dress is amazing and would look good with pearls for sure. Upcycling anything is ok. The Hawaiian outfit would make a good romper. Video idea tour of cool things in Texas.
Also because your fashion is literally goals to me and I have started buying everlane and madewell pieces because of you, would you ever consider doing like a closet tour or clothing collection video? Would love to see your top favorites, must haves, etc. :)
As far as upcycling goes, a good rule of thumb might be - Even if you bought it at a vintage store, if it seems like something you might also find at a thrift store, go for it. If it seems like something really unique and special and obviously from a certain era, I wouldn't change it too much (other than slight resizing). Get it to someone who will value it the way it is.
absolutely loved the blue/green dress on you! also I think you can definitely alter floral one to just be a midi skirt… ignore anyone who shames you for not following “rules” on vintage clothing! it’s about giving the clothing another life (in whatever form that takes)
Just here supporting you, from Namibia. You are much younger than me but such an inspiration to me in so many ways. Your strength and being intentional is out of this world. I love that you are so honest that it's not always rosy and when you are overwhelmed, you recognize it, which is human. Wishing you all the best with the new love. You deserve the best.
Love all the finds! The floral dress looks like there’s enough fabric for you to have it altered into a skit and a top! Then you could wear them together or separate 😊
You're giving life to something that would probably otherwise stay in a store forever or until the style comes back so I'm all for alterations and upcycling!
When you picked up the lacy jacket at the store, my first thought was..... "Michel, no, no, no.... It's definitely, something my Nanny wore with matching polyester pants!" But then you tried it on and I am dying to find something similar for myself! It's adorable on you!
Get a sewing machine! Some of those alterations would be so easy. Just watch a few tutorials - it’s not hard once you learn the basics and you would have so much fun flipping second hand pieces.
I love the 80s dress as is ! No judgement if you want to make it a skirt... but I think it would look so cool as is with a slicked back bun and bold earrings! That would be so fun and bold, but it’s also a very cute skirt too.
Love this segment of sip and thrift (vintage)!! For the last Hawaiian print dress I definitely think you should try upcycling it and making it more modern and wearable by cutting and making separate top and matching skirt! Have the top a cropped shirt style, shorten the sleeves, and then elastic or add zip to skirt! It’ll look super cute
I think the flower dress is pretty as it is. Only the last one you thought as a swimwear cover up is soo huge it must be altered to fit you. The pink jacket is my favorite out of all, so feminine and girly. The sage/ light green dress is my second favorite one. I hope you get all those. Even the last one if you can have it altered.
Such amazing finds, these look amazing on you! The light green dress is by far my favorite 🤗 I would love for you to do an Old Navy haul, I feel like they’ve really come back around to have good clothing and workout gear again.
I loved the vintage pieces. I was surprised at how good they look once on. The jacket is sooo cute and the one you’re turning into a skirt is awesome. The green dress is so classy. I hope someone can make a romper out of the last one, love the material 😁♥️
Turning the green & cream dress would be adorable as a romper! As far as saving a piece unless your actually a flipper there’s no rules. Saving it & giving it new life IS better than it going to the landfill!
Michel, this video feels like you. You are so happy that it’s making me happy. It’s so nice to have you be happy again. Legit, this is why I followed you. Your energy is electric! Also that skirt idea. Bomb! Do it! Beautiful!
Would love to see the outfit with the lace jacket with like a pastel colored bralette under, or even like a neon bralette! I think it would be so cute to give color block vibes!
I just love the idea of upcycling that dress into a skirt, it definitely is very becoming on your frame. The last dress, oufff, quite the challenge to turn that into a romper, and boy that just brought me flashbacks, lol. We have many thrift shops where I live and like you, I love to browse and find something I can take home instead of buying something new.
Love the modest dress and the cardigan! Would personally wear the cardigan with a regular length tank instead of a bralette. Love the dress as a skirt! Gorgeous and belt is very flattering. Don't love the Nancy Drew pants. No to the Hawaii dress. Love the sip and thrifts! So fun! =)
You pull off vintage and modern styles so well! Vintage sizes are way different! A 12 is usually more around a 6. There's no "rules" for vintage clothing lol. If you want to alter it...do it!
I’m on a solo trip for work in TN for two weeks and I miss my boyfriend and cats so much, and haven’t been able to stop crying… until your video thanks for always bringing light to peoples lives!
The pants are an easy fix in alterations. The white jacket type blouse looks super good with the flip of vintage and trendy. Repairs are easy on the soft green dress. It looks adorable and you do t need a boat to wear it. It’s just stunning. I love the skirt look No issues in changing parts of the vintage looks. Vintage is your vibe and it looks good on you. I don’t like it on you as a dress. I love the sage green dress. Have it altered. It’s worth it or send it to me.
That dress as a skirt is seriously dreamy! I think it’s absolutely okay to up-cycle something so that it will be worn and loved instead of hung up on a hanger the rest of its life. Love your vids as always, Michel! Love from California ♥️
I absolutely love the white lace jacket and the first dress was gorgeous. I hope you do get the 80's looking dress made into a skirt. I would love to see someone make that last one into a cute romper for you. Keep us updated on what you end up having altered. Great video!
I would encourage you not to care if anyone thinks it is ok to alter these pieces. I love antique furniture and paint it all the time even tho some would gasp at changing the orig. finish. It is yours, do what you love with it. What you tried on looks darling on you. I look forward to seeing your amazing growth here and seeing you so happy with your boyfriend. Would love a Q&A with the two of you! All the best as you navigate this journey. God's blessings Michel.
You should check out Blue Velvet Vintage! They sort their clothes based on decade. It's right down the street from this area, right next to a great coffee shop too!
Hi Michel, this was so much fun and you have a great eye!! Now I get it😮 I think you should start taking some sewing lessons so you can play with the clothes yourself. You have the perfect figure for vintage clothes. You would look great in the dress that you want to make into a skirt which is fine but think of something you can do with the top of the dress to make it your own. For instance make it into a cropped top or a little short jacket.I love the pink blouse on you, so beautiful and the other dress. The color of the dress really looks pretty on you. I’m excited for you, I hope you show us the pieces after they’re altered, hemmed ect.
Great hall, and yes to upcycling the floral dress to a skirt. I would actually consider using the material from the last one to turn into a skirt as well.
Love these pieces on you! I think the girly lacy shirt might be even more awesome with different buttons. Can totally imagine it. Wish we had vintage shops this good in my city.
Favourites are pink flowered jacket. The style of jacket is Jackie K/O. Like it with jeans and edgy black belero. I had a similar dress of crossover in the 60's. Both of these vintage pieces definitely suit you. So fun to see you try these pieces on. Great vlog.
Love your pieces. I prefer white with the skirt over black, or even pink, but that lacey sweater top is my fav- so many possibilities of styling options!
The green dress is so gorgeous! Also, the flower dress is so beautiful! Definitely looks 60s. But do what you want to feel comfortable. It's just such a pretty dress.
Yes!! I love that dress as a skirt!! You should get a cute scrunchie or headband made with the extra fabric from the top half!
I think a matching bow tie for Max 🐶
That’s such a cute idea!!!😍
Maybe a scarf for Paris.
Genius idea!
I think she could also turn it into a thick strapped cropped tank and make a cute matching set!
Vintage is the best type of pieces to pick up for a wardrobe curation.
The tie that came with the neutral dress is probably for your hair… Last year I was given a lot of really pretty vintage pieces from my aunt’s closet when she passed away and every dress had a hair accessory like that.

The floral dress/skirt is great. Make sure to get pockets added!

You could check if they can make you a skirt and a top from the floral dress! Would be lovely too 😉
Yes! I thought the same thing! The top could be turned into a sleeveless shirt and look beautiful!!
Same thought!😊
Love the pants so much, they will be perfect for fall. But that dress as a skirt is so cute!!!! 🤍🤍🤍
OMGoodness, you should make hunting for Vintage
Clothing your next great hobby. That pale colored dress looked like it was custom made for you. All of your Vintage Clothes seem to fit you so nice.
You def would nvr see a repeat on anyone else that is for sure. You could hv so many one of a kind pieces

OKAY THAT FLORAL DRESS NEEDS TO BE TURNED INTO A SKIRT!! That is stunning on you! ❤️🔥🔥🔥😘🇨🇦

Michel, you do not have to apologize to us for showing excitement & being happy. That’s what the world needs more of. Not something to apologize about

Love all the clothes. For the skirt flip, love the idea and would totally make the top a halter cause the neck line is amazing. So fun!
This means so much, thank you 🥹🤍
Im surprised how amazing the flower lace blazer looks. And the dress beautiful! 🥰 the flower dress skirt being reimagined is a fantastic idea.
My great aunt had those glasses with the picket fence and the yellow flowers! 😍
Yesssss make that into a skirt. Good idea!!! LOVE IT
I agree that the floral dress seems 80s, I'm almost positive that I had the same dress back in my heyday. Love it as a skirt.
Love the idea of the dress into a skirt ! And thank you for your videos💕 i just love your thrifting videos, feeling like hanging out with a friend 😊
That vintage dress with the crisscross is so beautiful 🥰
The bright flowered dress was and 80’s dress, the thick belt was also an 80’s thing, love it!
Love all the finds! The floral dress looks like there’s enough fabric for you to have it altered into a skit and a top! Then you could wear them together or separate 😊
Haven't been to Room Service since I was 17 and I'm 40 now!! Thanks for the blast from the past.
You're giving life to something that would probably otherwise stay in a store forever or until the style comes back so I'm all for alterations and upcycling!
Maybe you should try styling the last dress open like a long duster. That over a long white dress or white swimsuit would be cute!
When you picked up the lacy jacket at the store, my first thought was..... "Michel, no, no, no.... It's definitely, something my Nanny wore with matching polyester pants!" But then you tried it on and I am dying to find something similar for myself! It's adorable on you!
I thought it was a sweater. I thought if she pushed the sleeves up it would look great with the jeans, more casual, very eye catching!
Get a sewing machine! Some of those alterations would be so easy. Just watch a few tutorials - it’s not hard once you learn the basics and you would have so much fun flipping second hand pieces.
That vintage dress with the crisscross is just gorgeous and you rock it!
Yes to the dress as a skirt!! LOVE!
I love love grey dress and all vintage clothes are beautiful this was a great video
I love the 80s dress as is ! No judgement if you want to make it a skirt... but I think it would look so cool as is with a slicked back bun and bold earrings! That would be so fun and bold, but it’s also a very cute skirt too.
I would love to see the last dress upcycled into a two piece! I think it would make a cute button down and skirt.

Ahh that cute sweet pretty green vintage dress, i´m so in love!
Omg love that dress on you 12:48 and I picture your bf looking up dinner boat reservations lol. So cute!
You could turn the floral dress in to a skirt AND a halter top!! That way you can keep the adorable bow detail on the neckline.
You got some lovley items. Be amazing if you get the skirt made & top made in to a blouse or something 🤷♀️🤔
Thank you for taking us along 🥰
The dress with the wide belt is definitely 80’s. I had a lot of dresses like that in that decade.
A more straight or longline bralette is so cute with that jacket!

The light green dress is by far my favorite 🤗
I would love for you to do an Old Navy haul, I feel like they’ve really come back around to have good clothing and workout gear again.
Please post an update when you’ve made any of these alterations!! Very interesting!
Love how you styled the lacey jacket and I think the dress would be way cuter as a skirt!
I loved the vintage pieces. I was surprised at how good they look once on. The jacket is sooo cute and the one you’re turning into a skirt is awesome. The green dress is so classy. I hope someone can make a romper out of the last one, love the material 😁♥️
Totally do the skirt! It looks amazing as one.
Turning the green & cream dress would be adorable as a romper!

Oh my, the second to last dress, that can be a two piece set. Gorgeous ❤❤❤❤❤ even last jumpsuit also can be a two piece set ❤❤❤❤
For the collard Parisian coat, I would lean into a pink crewneck tee, and some slim white pants. Hair in a loose bun.
Upcycling doesn't have any rules. If it's something you don't wear and you can find a way to love it, go for it.
You should make the dress into a skirt and top duo. That way you could wear them together or separate.
I’m on a solo trip for work in TN for two weeks and I miss my boyfriend and cats so much, and haven’t been able to stop crying… until your video thanks for always bringing light to peoples lives!
That blue grey dress is gorgeous and looks amazing on you!
The pants are an easy fix in alterations.
The white jacket type blouse looks super good with the flip of vintage and trendy.
Repairs are easy on the soft green dress. It looks adorable and you do t need a boat to wear it. It’s just stunning.
I love the skirt look
No issues in changing parts of the vintage looks.
They might be able to make a matching top for the floral dress so it could be like a two piece set that you can mix and match with.
It's very interesting and educational.
Love the outfit and presentation
I absolutely love the white lace jacket and the first dress was gorgeous. I hope you do get the 80's looking dress made into a skirt. I would love to see someone make that last one into a cute romper for you. Keep us updated on what you end up having altered. Great video!

Oh the dress as a skirt is my favorite, the dress you had on made me automatically see you on a cruise outside on the deck.
You should check out Blue Velvet Vintage! They sort their clothes based on decade. It's right down the street from this area, right next to a great coffee shop too!
I liked the floral full dress the best!
I’m excited for you, I hope you show us the pieces after they’re altered, hemmed ect.
The floral dress is 80's fashion and I think cream color dress that you love is 80's too.
I say the dress is yours and you can do whatever you want with it that makes your heart happy.
You could also style the "girly" top with some leather pants to really lean into the edgy style 😁
When you’re all done with the white/pink sweet granny flower blazer, I call dibs!!! It’s absolutely beautiful!!!
That dress was made to be a skirt. Stunning find 😍 There's nothing wrong with repurposing a piece to fit your style. You're giving it a new life.
Great hall, and yes to upcycling the floral dress to a skirt. I would actually consider using the material from the last one to turn into a skirt as well.
I think everything is great, except of course the last dress. Love love the jacket over the bralette. Great job.
This was so much fun! I can't wait to see the pieces 100%. Three of my favorite things.....vintage, thrifting and Michel! :) Thanks for sharing!
The green dress is so beautiful on you! Vintage stuff is so cool! You have great ideas for up cycling. It gives things a second life. Great recycling!
love these video.. "Happy" is looking really good on you Michel
Great vlog.
With that last dress you could roll up the sleeves and wear it open like a duster over a white tank and some jeans.
Here’s a video suggestion: create a few outfits inspired by a few of your favorite songs of Jordy’s.
Reeally love that print on that Hawaiian print dress, really hope someone can turn that into a romper because it would be adorable!
Love your pieces. I prefer white with the skirt over black, or even pink, but that lacey sweater top is my fav- so many possibilities of styling options!
I feel like that flowered one could be made into a skirt AND a cute sleeveless top with high neck!
The green dress is so gorgeous! Also, the flower dress is so beautiful! Definitely looks 60s. But do what you want to feel comfortable. It's just such a pretty dress.
That pale green/gray dress was straight Mad Men- loved it and you rocked it. Also Stepford Wives vibes. You wear all those vintage pieces beautifully💕
Am I the only one who thinks taking the sleeves off the dress/ skirt maybe would also make a super cute dress/ top ? Xx
I love the top on the dress 🥲✨💕 but the shoulder pads are a no go for me haha and yeah the tie looks a little funky!
Loooove these finds! Yes definitely upcycle the last dress, it's so beautiful!!!
