who else here went back to see the older video and see it is exactly 4 years ago to the day! Love seeing the moon and a beautiful morning. Love all of your videos. Thank you! =o)
This is the most beautiful quilt I have had the pleasure of seeing done on any tutorial, I have only been quilting for about 1 1/2 years, but already I have completed 2 queens, 1 twin and 6 baby quilts, also at present I have 4 tops done, been feeling a little moody for a bit, so this is it, I will be hitting the fabric store in the morning in search of the perfect fabric, I am going to build this quilt and cheer myself up. Even though it is still winter here in Idaho, my sewing room will be bright and happy, I really wish it was morning already, I can't wait to get started.
I'm so glad you mentioned the straight edged cuts instead of pinked. That alone would be what makes me buy from you instead of a company that pinks the edges. Thank you!
Thank you so much for the wonderful tutorial. I have the pattern and was questioning the cuts. Watching this tutorial really answered my questions. Again thank you
Look at that very straight wrist Donna has when she cuts fabric. Everybody needs to hold their wrist in such a perfect shape and none of us would have elbows!
Hi Matt, thanks for showing the video of your location and the balmy dawn with a full moon. I wish I knew where you were located when we took one of our cross-country road trips. I remember driving north along US 101 and spending a night in Crescent City, CA, then north long the Oregon Coast. Next time we’re in that beautiful region, I’ll know where to turn off and visit you. You and Donna should feel proud of all that you accomplished with your life over the last 40 years. I wish you both many more years of success and happiness.
I was so happy to get a notification that the "Glow" fabric was back in stock and ordered the jelly roll, border fabric & the pattern - can't wait to make this quilt. Thanks for taking the time to make your tutorials - they're all great.
It's been a few weeks now since watching your sewing clips and you always sew everything together sew easily. They may look complicated but thank you for always sewing them easily n simple. I love your clips very much and when I can I'll stitch a simple quilt one day. ❤💙❤💙
I know that this video is over two years old, but being from Grant's Pass Oregon myself I had to say Thank you to Matt for showing me Beacon Hill and the moon in the West. I love seeing the bits of Oregon in your videos.
Thank you, Donna, for another fantastic quilting tutorial. I just love what you've created this time and every time I've watched you work. I learn so much from both you and Matt. Thank you, Matt, for sharing your exquisite 5am mountain view and personal thoughts about it with those of us who don't live in such a picturesque setting (Chicago, ugh, concrete & hostility). It's crazy that I've never met either of you and likely never will, but I feel as if I know you both after watching so many of your videos. Blessings to you & your family!
Donna is a wonderful teacher. I'm a grade school teacher and I find her instruction invaluable to me. I've learned so much from her. I lived in Oregon for 45 years and I recognized the Oregon "accent". Thank you ma'am.
Donna. I just thunk you are one of the best, most exacting teachers on the web. I'm itching to get my sewing room reorganized and get out there and start on this one. Please, keep the great, creative ideas flowing. You make everything seem exciting and fun!
I don't normally write but see every video you two put out. They're all outstanding. I just wanted to say thank you to both of you for your time and efforts. :)
I bought this fabric and pattern from you and made it at my last quilt retreat - I love it. I would never have bought this pattern because it just doesn't look good on the cover - your tutorial and choice of fabrics sold me on this one. I was sure to tell everyone at the retreat about your tutorials and fabrics. Your fabric is beautiful and laser straight - a joy to sew.
I wholeheartedly agree! I have tears in my eyes! I truly appreciate Matt's gentle personality and his attention to his craft! I would love to see more of Matt in videos!
I really like the the time and attention your tutorials devote to cutting the fabric, finger pressing the seams, and ironing the sewn pieces. Your camera angle when you're sewing the pieces is terrific. I love this particular pattern!
I'm way too wobbly with my cutting to stack as many layers as you have ... but as there are no "Quilt Police" coming to check, it's no problem! Thanks for another terrific video tutorial. Those Cozy Quilt Design patterns you feature are terrific, thanks for sharing them.
Happiness is another quilt tutorial from Jordan Fabrics. Again I love your choice of fabrics-planning to make this one! Thanks for the great instructions.
Im new to quilting and have found your tutorials by chance on the internet. Thank you for taking the time to explain how to do the quilts. Very inspirational. Now im off to watch more. Love from England. xx
Beautiful quilt. I really want to make this one, but have a few projects that need to be finished first. I really love the colors and the simplicity of the piecing.
LOVE this quilt.. and thank you for showing the process! All your hints and tips along the way are wonderful:) Who doesn't need some great and more modern patterns to use up their Jelly Rolls:)) GB
Love this quilt! I have a few of Cozy Quilts patterns, and usually love all the ones you do tutorials on. I’m adding this one to my stash! Love your tutorials.
Beautiful! I keep watching your videos to see what I want to make with the jelly roll I ordered from y’all. But I’m having a hard time deciding!! I think maybe this one. :)
Making this one right now with Kate Spain Longitutde Batik strips, Sweet Violet Grunge for the accent, and a white Grunge. I got them all from Jordan Fabrics. I got the strips and accent online and I had no idea if they would work but it's perfect. TY again for this wonderful tutorial video and for turning me on to Cozy Quilt Designs
Ola, estou começando na arte do Patchwork e sou encanta, mas estou mais encantada com a sua competência e agilidade na costura, estou extasiada com tanta beleza dos seus tecidos. Parabéns! Pelas criações e estamparias.
I so glad I stumbled upon your channel. I enjoy watching your videos. Thank you for the weight idea, love it. Your videos give me hope that I can quilt too although I've never done one. Hoping to begin on my first one soon.
Matt, when I was younger, my family travelled from Myrtle Creek to visit my grandfather in Sacramento, CA. I always got Grants Pass wrong. It was "Grass Pants" in my family. We are scattered throughout the US and S. Korea, with only 3 of our large family still in OR. Surprisingly, the name of your town still comes up in fanily conversations and is still Grass Pants. 🤣
Again, a beautiful finished quilt! I absolutely love your videos. You may have already touched on this, but can you talk a little about your thread choices in general - as to weight, type, colors, etc.
I use Superior Thread cones - poly wrapped poly TEX 30 for almost all of my sewing. I usually use cream for most of the piecing unless all the patchwork is really dark. On the longarm, I usually use a thread color that is slightly darker than the light prints in the quilt top. This Long Tall quilt is one of the few where I used a contrast (deep turquoise) for the quilting.
I had really been having a problem in cutting out my fabric accurately and have watched other tutorials that say never use your board for measurements and only use your rulers, but in your video you mainly use your board with your ruler as a straight edge and I've tried your methods including the weight and my cutting is almost perfect now! You have really been such a great help to me. I was beginning to think I just couldn't do this, but you changed that. Thank you so much.
I really love this quilt especially because all you have to do is double it to make it wider. I hope you have some Kaffe strips sets available! Off to shop at Jordan's Quilts because the edges are straight and not linked! See you there!!!

Beautiful quilt. Beautifully taught. Really appreciate your method of working. Thanks Donna.
I'm so glad you mentioned the straight edged cuts instead of pinked. That alone would be what makes me buy from you instead of a company that pinks the edges. Thank you!
I don’t know why some people are disliking this, she s teaching us magnificent work of art here. Keep up the good work.
Glad to see the tall people have not been forgotten! Beautiful quilt, great video, much fun!!
This is a gorgeous quilt! It would also be spectacular done with a Kaffe Fassett jelly roll!
The "Glow" Strip Set is beautiful. Love all the varied and unusual patterns.
This was the quit pattern that got me into sewing quilts. 4 years later still beautiful.
Thank you so much for the wonderful tutorial. I have the pattern and was questioning the cuts. Watching this tutorial really answered my questions. Again thank you

With the fabric you chose this quilt looks like a Native American design. I just love this quilt.
I just love, love, love it that your Husband Matt supports you Donna. It's wonderful to see a husband support his wife. That is wonderful.💓
Look at that very straight wrist Donna has when she cuts fabric. Everybody needs to hold their wrist in such a perfect shape and none of us would have elbows!

Hello, from NY state. Love it! I enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work. Thanks Matt, for doing the cutting to help us get sewing faster.

I love this quilt! I really love that lone block to your left at 18:19. Hope you have a video on that one!
I believe it's the Sister's Choice block. She has a tutorial. You'll love it
We do have a tutorial for the block here ruclips.net/video/5CHagniaBZs/видео.html and will be offering a precut kit in the Christmas prints soon.
