Protesters in Uptown call on President Trump to stop deportations, ICE raids

Sunday afternoon, the streets of Uptown Charlotte were filled with the chant: "Unite. Let's fight for immigrants' rights."
This protest, one of many across the country this weekend, comes in response to President Donald Trump's executive orders, triggering what would be deemed as the largest mass deportation of immigrants living in the U.S. illegally.
Dana Alhasan, an organizer with the Party for Socialism and Liberation, spoke to WCNC Charlotte about their message.
"The core message is that immigrant immigrants are not the problem. We are not losing jobs because of immigrants. We are losing jobs because corporate executives are shutting down factories and moving these jobs overseas," she said. "Immigrants are our friends. They are not our foe."
They say they demand full rights for immigrants and the abolishment of ICE.

Birthright citizenship. The 14th amendment had to do with slaves. Slavery ended in 1865, and the 14th amendment was written in 1868. It did not mean if you had a child on American soil that the child was a citizen. It was for the slave's children's children and so on, could be established as citizens. The Amendment talks about emancipation as well as slave. Slaves were property until they were freed. That amendment made them citizens. Their children got birthright citizenship. They do not have birthright citizenship. That belongs to the slave’s children.

It's absolutely insane and disturbing that someone would literally believe that illegally residing people would go to the polls and vote for a man whose entire campaign was based on deportation
It's also utter racist ignorance to believe that all Hispanics are here illegally and that it was not legally residing immigrants who voted for Trump. As they believe that if THEY had to go through the process then everyone should.

That's foolish to believe as illegally residing people can't vote. The electoral college put Trump in office by a 100 vote margin. You do know that they are actually the ones who put presidents in office right?
