So many actors on Xena stole every scene and Kevin Smith was definitely among them. It was such a wasted opportunity for the producers of Wonder Woman to have her fight a CGI David Thewlis and not an Ares on par with Kevin Smith's. RIP badass.

If you consider the three women who look identical to Xena and come from widely different backgrounds the Idea that one of the gods could be her father makes a lot of sense. Of course, if Ares isn't her father that would mean Zeus most likely is and that would make Ares her half-brother. Either way she spent a long time screwing a member of her immediate family not that that means anything to the Greek gods their family is basically made of incest. The first 2 seasons were shot in 16mm so they will look ok but potentially a bit grainy. The rest was in 35mm so there really isn't any reason for them to not look crisp, they would have just looked worse at the time of airing due to the tech used to air it, nothing to do with the filming.

The support doesn't make it all, there are lots of steps in the process, each one having a cost. And it was only supposed to be played on old TV sets back then, not on cinema screens. Today's TV screens brings out any imperfections. A real in deep remastering with current means would be welcome. I wonder if these new videos haven't been recently remastered in fact, as the picture looks better than on the DVDs initially released more than 15 years ago.

And because this was before HD TV and digital tv and being taped on VHS and being nearly 20 years old which again shows age and even some grain and allot of drop outs when transfered aka ripped to DVD as I've done! Today these shows and episodes could be given a proper remaster and upscale if done correctly! I don't have the DVD's of the episodes to compare to my old VHS of the taped episodes I have.📼

Kevin smith was fantastic as ares and lucy and renee said at one of their conventions that after they filmed this scene kevin went to darien takle who played my mum and gave her a hug and we was laughing and he was a lovely man and we all miss him.
It's funny. I grew up a really big fan of Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert. I also watched Hercules and Xena. NEVER occured to me that they were behind it, not even with Bruce Campbell as Autolycus. Years later it dawned on me, that's why the tone is so wonderfully silly on purpose. Watched the entire show and loved it.

@@Aaron-io8vw Hence why Iolaus (Hercules's maternal cousin and a descendant of Perseus too) was vastly beyond average in terms of battle IQ, tactician mind and combat prowess, even to mortal standards (albeit nowhere as bright as Xena, a _supposedly full-blo*ded_ mortal woman) .

Kevin smith was fantastic as ares and lucy and renee said at one of their conventions that after they filmed this scene kevin went to darien takle who played my mum and gave her a hug and we was laughing and he was a lovely man and we all miss him.

It DID always annoy me how easily she beats up Ares through the series. With Hercules he IS half god so at least that makes sense.
It's funny. I grew up a really big fan of Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert. I also watched Hercules and Xena. NEVER occured to me that they were behind it, not even with Bruce Campbell as Autolycus. Years later it dawned on me, that's why the tone is so wonderfully silly on purpose. Watched the entire show and loved it.
