Min Yoongi is genius fot creating Tomorrow, especially considering the fact he was high school student when he made it. It is my all-time favourite song. Yoongi himself is very proud of it till this days and the members call it "Yoongi's masterpiece" (they call this way all songs produced by him😂)

Skool Luv Affair will always be special to me cuz it's the era when I officially became an ARMY. 'Just One Day' will forever be my favourite song, l remember I'd listened to it every night before going to sleep (their voices are freaking lullaby). And I still remember I tried learning Boy In Luv & Just One Day dance lol. ANW, hi Caitlin! Just discovered your channel, I seriously love seeing your reaction (especially when the belt came out HAHA I'm wheezing). ISTG my watched history is full of you like girl.. your reaction is so relatable & entertaining!
- Boy In Luv - I always considered the background of this song to be that the focus girl in the song was "nice" to all the boys (light flirtations, eyelash fluttering, hair tossing, compliments, etc - nothing really bad, just teenage school kid things), and had them all confused and wanting to know which one of them she REALLY liked, and, to save the group from jealousy and fighting with each other, Jin dragged her in to get her to finally say who she really wants ("say what you want, say what you want") and end the debate - but each boy had a chance to plead their case before she made her final decision - while it may seem like manhandling to western audiences, the grabbing the wrist and dragging thing is/was considered a very forward, but masculine/romantic move by Korean standards - it only became an issue years later, when BTS started winning awards, and antis started looking for any and every little thing to use as ammunition against them - ARMY should not fall for that and give antis the fuel to keep it up - BTS didn't make the song for western audiences, they had no idea as rookies how huge they would get - those songs were made for Korean audiences, for whom those kinds of actions, while aggressive, at the time, they were still socially acceptable behavior - and before western audiences whine, remember - you lot absolutely LOVED 50 Shades of Grey, so let's not be hypocrites - "eat you up"/"bite you" - yes, in English to the western ear, those phrases sound violent, aggressive, and more than a bit cringey - but remember, when translating words, ESPECIALLY when translating phrases and figures of speech, they DO tend to be rather awkward, and often mean something completely different than what you think it does - as an example (and sorry for the foul language, but this is too good an example), the word "motherfucker" - in English, it simply sounds like aggressive and strong language/vulgarity - but if you break that word down, and then translate it to another language, I guarantee, the speakers of that other language would look at YOU as though you were weird and creepy - when it comes to foul language and figures of speech, you just need to accept that different cultures have different -isms and that's just the way it is - you can't really be all weirded out at other people's figures of speech, when your own is fairly questionable as well - just think of all the weird sayings there are in your own culture, and then how strange they would sound translated into another language - geosigi - for me, it is kinda like when an English speaking person says things like "thing-of-majig" or "thingy" - it's a catchall word to use when you can't think of the specific word for something, so it takes on various meanings and usages - Where You From - the premise of the song is the boys hanging out, seeing a pretty girl they all like, and they all approach her, trying to impress her, but, at the same time, trying to downplay the other boys competing for her attention - it's meant to be a funny little "battle for her love" kind of situation xD - Just One Day - during promotions and award shows, Yoongi's appendix burst and they had to rush him into the hospital for surgery - the boys continued their appearances while Yoongi watched from his hospital bed - he wrote his lyrics to this song while laying in his bed, imagining what he'd want to do if he only had one day left to live - also, as a personal note, I remember hearing that Namjoon had a girlfriend, with whom he broke up right before debut (he's said he had a girlfriend, but I don't know if anyone actually knows exactly WHEN they broke up, just that it did happen prior to debut), and, based on his lines in this song, sometimes I think it MIGHT be about her, though we never know, it could just be a hypothetical situation that he wrote about for the context of the song

Also if you ever have the time and are up for some compilation videos, I highly recommend the bts on vlive series from Fandoms Unite. They have videos for namjoon, hobi, yoongi, tae, jimin and jungkook (for some reason I don't think they have one for Jin :(((() They don't really have crack editing and they're just really funny. nah boy in luv was pretty popular in korea too! I remember rm talking about their early discography and he said no more dream was a good debut, n.o. didn’t receive much attention, then boy in luv did really good, then danger didn’t do that good, and then i need u hit no.1! I remember a group of boys performing the song for the school talent show back in 2016. That was probably one of the first songs i’ve heard of bts lol. Also, the song kinda represents the typical love trope of a bad boy who’s only sweet towards the girl and would do anything for her while the girl’s the only one who has the guts to tease him and gets flustered at the boy’s confession of undying love - the stuff that was real popular back in 2014 (at least in korea - u could see it well often in kdramas) you know with all that wall-slam kiss and stuff lol

My interpretation of Boy In Luv, as you said how they're a bit aggressive in the lyrics and the video, is this (I have a similar interpretation for War of Hormone which is on the Dark & Wild album, but slightly different): basically the whole School Trilogy is talking about BTS's experiences, emotions and thoughts during their teenage/high school years. Teenage boys, often don't know how to control their emotions or think rationally, particularly when it comes to a girl they like. Even in the lyrics it says "I become mean, grumpy and whiny for no reason, I'm serious but I end up picking a fight with you like a loser, Why do I bother to care about you, you make me a grown-up child". The whole song it seems like the girl is playing games with them, and they're playing back. It's young/teen love, it's messy, and it's not really the right way to love. It's a young boy's interpretation of what love is. As you said they're borderline toxic lyrics, in that they're willing to give themselves up for the other person. But then this comes full circle in Boy With Luv, where they themselves have grown up, and the love they talk about there is what love really is, and what it should be. It's no longer aggressive or impulsive, as it was when they were teenagers. RM in an interview actually specified that Boy In Luv demonstrates love on the outside, whereas Boy With Luv shows love on the inside.
for V in Just One Day music video, he did parts of what RM does in the studio version. i love how his voice sounds on that track too! it really fits his voice 🥰

Love your reactions so much!! This album is definitely my favorite from the school trilogy. Also if you ever have the time and are up for some compilation videos, I highly recommend the bts on vlive series from Fandoms Unite. They have videos for namjoon, hobi, yoongi, tae, jimin and jungkook (for some reason I don't think they have one for Jin :(((() They don't really have crack editing and they're just really funny. I'd love to see you react to them 💜💜💜

nah boy in luv was pretty popular in korea too! I remember rm talking about their early discography and he said no more dream was a good debut, n.o. didn’t receive much attention, then boy in luv did really good, then danger didn’t do that good, and then i need u hit no.1! I remember a group of boys performing the song for the school talent show back in 2016. That was probably one of the first songs i’ve heard of bts lol.
Also, the song kinda represents the typical love trope of a bad boy who’s only sweet towards the girl and would do anything for her while the girl’s the only one who has the guts to tease him and gets flustered at the boy’s confession of undying love - the stuff that was real popular back in 2014 (at least in korea - u could see it well often in kdramas) you know with all that wall-slam kiss and stuff lol
So we are getting closer to THE album, Dark & Wild.

My interpretation of Boy In Luv, as you said how they're a bit aggressive in the lyrics and the video, is this (I have a similar interpretation for War of Hormone which is on the Dark & Wild album, but slightly different): basically the whole School Trilogy is talking about BTS's experiences, emotions and thoughts during their teenage/high school years. Teenage boys, often don't know how to control their emotions or think rationally, particularly when it comes to a girl they like. Even in the lyrics it says "I become mean, grumpy and whiny for no reason, I'm serious but I end up picking a fight with you like a loser, Why do I bother to care about you, you make me a grown-up child". The whole song it seems like the girl is playing games with them, and they're playing back. It's young/teen love, it's messy, and it's not really the right way to love. It's a young boy's interpretation of what love is. As you said they're borderline toxic lyrics, in that they're willing to give themselves up for the other person. But then this comes full circle in Boy With Luv, where they themselves have grown up, and the love they talk about there is what love really is, and what it should be. It's no longer aggressive or impulsive, as it was when they were teenagers. RM in an interview actually specified that Boy In Luv demonstrates love on the outside, whereas Boy With Luv shows love on the inside.
