For those who don’t know katakana, hirogana, or kanji (like me), I did research:
にゃ = nya
ミャウ = myau (meow haha)
にゃん = nyan
猫 = neko (cat)

With the size of the 'や' being closer to 'ゃ,' it would actually be closer to 'にゃ,' or 'nya.' Same goes for the 'にやん' actually being closer to 'にゃん,' or 'nyan.' I know hiragana so I just wanted to point this out ^ ^'
