He could make it whisper. He could make it scream. He could make it cry. Gary Moore played the guitar with his soul.
This performance at Montreux is easily in the top 3 greatest performances ever. Took me awhile to find this concert on
Blu-Ray but finally I have me precious.
It single handedly has to be one of if not the greatest exhibitions of guitar playing ever, absolutely astonishing
Definitely caught on film for sure
Saw Gary many many time during the 80s n 90s.....theres never been anyone better in my opinion...RIP
Gary Moore passed away in Februay 2011 at the age of 58. He had a heart attack in his hotel room while on holiday in Spain. Sorely missed. The best ever !
I've been a musician since 1963 and have heard many of the greats live - including Jimi Hendrix, BB King, Jeff Beck and many more. IMHO Gary Moore is the greatest guitar player that ever lived and this performance, IMHO, is the greatest guitar performance ever recorded.
The younger generations in this video appreciate it. Based upon grandma's reaction? She "gets it". Good stuff
One of the greatest guitarist ever
This man is one of my favorite guitar heroes.
That's definitely one of my all time favorites when it comes to guitar solos.
Greatest guitar performance ever
Completely agree, absolutely incredible... I was lucky enough to see him live 5 times. The best ever.
@@michaelgardiner6295 I saw him 3 times, once with Thin Lizzy
A great cover of a great Roy Buchanan song. Never got to see Gary, but I did get to see Roy twice, and he played this song both times. RIP Roy Buchanan and Gary Moore, two great Guitarist.
What a gift for humanity. Rock in peace. You will never be forgoten. 💯❤️🇮🇹
This song always made me think of walking alone on a beach after a hard break up contemplating life without the one you lost.
Garry Moore and Ritchie Blackmore are the greatest ever lived
My fav guitarist of all time....Simply the goat
I alway have loved Gary Noore and i always will - legendary Guitar player and a damn good singer he was
But you can't spell his name correctly 😡
THANK YOU SO MUCH YOU 3 BABES FOR THIS ❤ GARY PLAYED WITH THIN LIZZY,,,, MY FAVORITE BAND OF ALL TIME CHECK OUT THE BLACK ROSE ALBUM AND STILL IN LOVE WITH YOU ON THE NIGHTLIE ALBUM,,,,,, IN 1979 HE WITH PHIL LYNOT BROUGHT OUT PARISEINE WALKWAYS ON THE BACK ON THE STREETS ALBUM,,,, THIS TRACK IS FROM HIS AFTER THE WAR IS OVER ALBUM,,,,,,, LYNOTT AND MOORE TOGETHER AWE MAN OH MAN ❤ GARY LOVE YOU TO BITS 😢 😢 😢❤
This was at the montraux jazz festival, and was an encore!!! Gary hadn't played this song for years, so if there hadn't been an encore, this performance would have never been recorded 😱😱😱 God forbid, it makes me cry every time ❤
He just show the arsenal he posessed..The greatest ever..
Granny totally gets it, Mommy kinda gets it, young girl just wants her phone back. Just an observation, not having a go. Keep up the good work.
And Rolling Stone magazine thought him not worthy of their recent list of the 250 greatest guitarists!
Shows what garbage that was then.
Maybe he wasn't in the " club " same with the great Rory Gallagher.
@@jessebongo46Nah, I think music journalists just like to try and be clever and unpredictable. Or maybe they’re not that educated.
@@penname5766na, it really is the case that plenty of music journalists and indeed journalists across the spectrum have zero knowledge of what they write about. Clueless most of them.
What is quite incredible is that Gary Moore was left-handed.
I'm in awe every time I hear him play. And he was a good singer too. This song doesn't need lyrics though because the guitar was doing the singing! LEGEND! RiP Gary. He passed in 2011.
I was blessed to see him live twice. I haven't seen anyone better than he was and I have seen most of the named guitar players over the year.
Separate ways, Live version of course.
2 legendary guitar players at once. Check out Gary Moore and BB King doing The thrill is gone.
That one is just epic, fun and so playful.
How can he be so underrated? Saw him several times. But when he played the blues, he just went up a level because he loved playing the blues.
You really need to do 'Parisienne Walkways', unless of course, you already have and I missed it. The live version from Sheffield, England will be perfect.
The best guitar player
Every single bend Gary did would cut your soul in half
I can recommend “Separate Ways “ extended intro version from London 1992 - or “the Loner” Stockholm 1987
Or the full/original version of empty rooms with the full solo...
Phenomenal.. pure and simple....had tears in me eyes first time i saw this.....and it still moves me now!!.....one of the GOATs.....Always in my up 3
just remember everyone, this is at a jazz festival!
Greetings once again Ladies from England. As I said in my comment on your Still Got The Blues reaction, Gary was in my humble opinion the best guitarist ever to walk this earth.
Yes there are and were many great guitarists but Gary was just a cut above the rest.
Below is a link to Empty Rooms Live in Stockholm in 1987. This was recorded in Gary's rock days and could be described as a kind of rock ballad. His guitar solo in this is absolutely brilliant. Here is the link:
ruclips.net/video/P3dapDTDJzk/видео.html
I really hope that you will react to this and look forward to seeing what you think.
Kindest regards to you once again from England. Take care and stay safe.
😊😎🎸🇬🇧🇺🇦
Thanks, hello, from Texas
My old friend, Flash Gordon, dragged me to see Gary Moore live in Wembley back in the late 1980s. Glad I went.
While Flash, like Gary, is long gone, they live on in my memory.
Carlos Santana said in an interview one time that you can tell how great a guitar player is by the expressions on his face as he plays. If that is true then Gary Moore is the absolute greatest !!!
Sex face on every note, check....
Adoro essa música a guitarra tem muito sentimento.... Muito feeling Hard Metal hehehe muito bom
I believe that in that one performance, Gary expressed his life from birth until death, with all the struggles and pain conquered and lost inbetween. His life story was the same as us all. He was human. To be human is to struggle. To be human is to have hope, even if it doesn’t materialize into what you expected. At the end there is only acceptance of whatever you did to navigate through your life for the good or for bad, until we meet our maker. Death is the one true equalizer of mankind. “The Messiah” is a synonym for hope. By the end of this song, you realize that the Messiah came and he is coming to everyone. This is because the Messiah is you. It always has been you. The Messiah is peace, hope and love. How collectively stupid we are that we finally realize the importance of this in its entirety upon the end being near. Be a good person. Live a life for others. Gary manifested this message through his guitar without words. It is an expression of his soul and it just flowed through his body. I tip my cap to his wisdom and greatness. He was remarkable. All we can hope is that the Messiah will come to everyone before the world is filled with too much hate. Manifest your own inner Messiah before it is too late. You can save yourself.
P.S. Love and respect to the three of you. You seem like really nice people.
Thanks
Loved the video, thank you ladies. I then had to go and watch Gary Moore & Phil Lynott playing Parisienne Walkways live together, a very special moment.
Gary was another one of a kind guitarist. Man how I miss this cat!❤
Gary..The Monster!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The MASTER
A great nod to Roy Buchanan!
Bogbrush hair and god like talent, I saw Gary live several times and he never failed to entertain, Rest In Peace Bonnie Lad, one of the greatest.
Out in the fields with Phil Lynott is a must
He was such an amazing guitarist definitely one of the best should check out his song "the loner" live from stockholm
Does anyone here know that this was one of the big time pieces of Roy Buchanan? Obviously this rendition was inspired by that one.
You should absolutely check out Gary Moore doing empty rooms from Stockholm 1987
Giggity giggity!!!
This was such a lovely tribute to the skill, passion and genius of the late, great Gary Moore. I was fortunate enough to see him live shortly before he died and it remains the best gig I've seen. I've seen some of the best guitarists live and, still, no-one can touch this giant. Your rection was so touching and true.
You really need to check out the next song he does at this concert it's called Parisian walkways with improv and solo! It makes this song sound like a warm up.😅😅
Sure
Ha! Grandma Donna gets it! So cool!
I’m so glad you ladies got around to this performance Gary expresses so much emotion through his guitar without a word spoken.
Great reaction , very enjoyable
Awesome performance by the late, great Gary Moore. Please review the composer Roy Buchanan's version. It's dynamite as well.
What an amazing guitarist he is
Gary Moore was a Guitar Legend 🎸 🤘 For young Gary check out Thin Lizzy. You can actually feel his playing , very emotional , just the Best IMO Gary owned it but Roy Buchanon was the origional of this song 🎵
El guitarrista mas completo y con mas feeling que ha exisitido
Must listen to Empty Rooms live. He's a great singer also
Wow! Just Wow! In agreement with you, ladies. 👍👏😀
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is Gary covering Roy Buchanan. The original is also a good listen.
Good ol' Gary, can't go wrong with him.
And now the Roy Buchanan version. Roy is one of the most underrated guitar players ever!
Rip Roy and Gary!
Thank you . I ask you to listen to Gary moor's 1987 over the hill`s a far a ways live. --from south korea
Hey, girls. I like your reactions, especially when it's Garry Moore. One of my favorites is "Empty Rooms" Best regards from Germany.
( I'm in love with Donna) ❤😉
A song by the legendary Roy Buchanan. Nobody did it like Roy!
Try Gary Moore Still Got The Blues For You. :)
Studio version is the dog's
😁
He was playing Greeny....Peter Green's priceless '59 Les Paul.....His mentor was Peter Green the originator of Fleetwood Mac. Kirk Hammet of Metallica has this guitar now as both Gary and Peter have passed.
He was the best by far RIP gary moore
Ladies you have no idea how good he was I was lucky enough to see him live at the beacon theater in 1992 and yes he was one of the best I also saw another one of the best Stevie Ray Vaughan to me those two are number one and number two and I was lucky enough to see them both
1.SRV 2.GARY MOORE
Gary Moore was a fantastic guitarist, one of the best actually, he sadly passed away of a heart attack back in 2011, at the time of he's death he had a very serious drinking problem and that´s what also took he´s life. Being such a big musician since the early/mid 70´s and being around one of the biggest bands in the work I would imagen he have been taking other substances than alcohol earlier in he´s life. It's sad anyhow. A little side note, that guitar he is playing is known as Greeny, its a world famous guitar and now Kirk Hammett of Metallica has that guitar, the guitar is worth 6 figures so its highly expensive, but still, Kirk play this guitar live at every show Metallica does. Thanks for the video.. you guys are the coolest ones.. well, Lullu is a little Cooler though :D
Thanks
And Gary Moore played on a few Thin Lizzy albums before going solo.
The request will come again.... Hocus Pocus by Focus!! 😊
A piano player of this caliber is said to " tickle the ivories " I don't know of an equivalent phrase for a guitarist .
Gary moore is the only guitarist in history where you can mute the sound and still know what he is playing just by watching his facial expression. He is so underated " Rolling Stone" ommited him from their top 500 guitarists of all time. Go figure.
First comment:) He is a legendary player!
Thank you
You Must Reacto to *Gary Moore - Parisienne Walkways* Live version 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😱😱😱😱😱😱
A Master Guitar 🎸 God for sure!! He also played with the Band THIN LIZZY for I believe 3 years (?) SOOO much FEEL! Whew! Shout Out to the Phantom recommendation person(s) !! 😊 Great Reaction ladies!! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎
Hi there, yes Gary certainly was a guitar master as you say.
However, Gary did not play with Thin Lizzy for 3 years. He did play with the band on several occasions, but usually only to help out his friend Phil Lynott. Phil always wanted Gary to join Thin Lizzy on a permanent basis and when Gary agreed to do so (in 1978) he did so on an individual contract unlike other members of the band. It was during this time that Thin Lizzy recorded the only album with Gary as a 'proper' member, Black Rose. Many people consider this as Thin Lizzy's best album.
Gary quit the band half way through a tour of America because he considered the performances to be well below parr due to the increased drug taking of both Phil Lynott and Scott Gorham.
Cheers and regards. 😊😎🎸🇬🇧🇺🇦
@@stevehanham9266 Dang!! I've only listened to Jailbreak! Gary had great instincts! Thanks Sir!! ☮️
phil lynott and gary moore parisienne walkways
As a guitarist, I might get hate for this, but....Gary Moore is and was the greatest guitarist in history
I too am a guitarist and it wouldn't be hate Cobra it would be stupidity... Try to find anything from an album very early on called dirty fingers, I'm confident you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Unfortunately he has passed away. Which ;eaves all his fans going back to hear all his fans wanting more they will never get. He got his start playing in the band Thin Lizzy.
Hey girls, Roy Buchanan wrote this song, and played it. You have to check gim out. Hes from Ozark Arkansas
