Just to avoid confusion, the OEM location for a 3.5" HDD is where the bottom intake fan is located. So perhaps in the video I should have made it clear that the lack of 3.5" drive support is only a concern if you are dead set on using a 120mm intake fan. Obviously with 2 fans up top, the system will still pull in air from elsewhere so the bottom 120mm is not 100% required - especially if you are using a air cooler to get some air flowing over the motherboard VRMs
Great review! It's hard to find a good ITX-case, and in my case, HTPC-case for Ryzen APU. This case seems to be a lot better than its price indicates. Totally missed Raijintek as a competitive brand. Thanks for this!
SFX PSU is a must for this cases. The airflow improves vastly. They told are gonna release a aluminium side panels but I don't find it out in their web site.
Great video. I really like this case. The only thing that's preventing me from purchasing this case is the lack of a power supply shroud. I think they could've easily added on and have the case support only SFX power supplies, which is more than likely the power supply form factor that most ITX folks would go for.
I like the looks of this case, btw wanted to thank you for your Vega 64 video you did while back. Managed to finally get a deal and I am very happy with it.
Great video quality and content. The GPU height limit of the case is a pity. There is so much room on that chamber they could have easily lowered the PCIE riser location 2cm.
Really good video. Would be great if they can adjust this case to have a mesh front to help with the airflow. Also, I feel they can add in a power supply shroud but probably would only work for SFX power supplies. You've done a very good job in creating this video.
I love the look of the ophion but stupidly I want it to be as tiny as the Dan A4 sfx.... Is it possible (or even probable?) to get tempered glass panels made for the A4? would cooling be adequate even with that gap?
I will make some custom acrylic side panels for this case to improve the temps and add an extra I/O panel in the front for more usb ports and headphones.
Hey F7GOS - great review! Can you check the vertical distance from the top of the case to the partitioning wall (MB tray)? I think it's one of the most important dimensions if one goes custom loop (I think of thick radiator and slim Noctua fans?) but there is absolutely no documentation available on the web. Thanks a lot 🙂
Being limited to 2 exhaust fans (from the AIO) and 1 intake fan (on the bottom), as well as the open vents around the side of the glass - I'm guessing it's impossible to have positive air pressure in this case? I was about to pull the trigger and buy one until I realized that, or have people found a way around the inevitable dust and cooling situation with this case? Also, I read somewhere that there's ~135mm clearance from top of GPU to bottom of the AIO - how tall is your GPU??
In which part of the case does it support the 3.5" HDD? Their website says they support it (on both the big and small one), but it's not clear where. Also how does one get hold of the aluminum side panel options? Thanks for the review!
It does technically have room for it, at the expense of other drives. Fine if you have an M.2, not so good if your wanting to use a 2.5" ssd and also have an intake fan below... but like I said you should be able to creatively squeeze one in 😊
Theres always the option of using extended motherboard standoffs (same fixings as the glass) if you run out of room. Raijintek cases are generally pretty... adaptable compared to others when it comes to using them out of spec.
2:42 - can I suggest just turning autostabilisation off? it's a very jarring affect, maybe a cheap tripod and a little rotary tabletob thing? even if it isnt electronic.
This would be the perfect case for me to replace my quite voluminous ITX case, but that GPU power clearance issue is a real concern. I have an MSI 1660Ti Gaming Z and I seriously doubt it would fit. Slim fans had abysmal performance last time I checked, so using one of those is out of question.
If you are creative you may be able to, depending on the thickness of the HDD. The main location for a 3.5" is where the bottom intake fan is located though, thats the officially supported location.
@@F7GOS good to know, thermals is not really a concern I think for the 1070. I'm gonna be adding 2 fan exhaust at the top to support that and btw I'm planning to opt for the smaller Ophion
Hi, Please can you help me.😃🙏 I want buy the Dan Case A4 and put in there the ryzen 7 2700 and and a 1070ti or 1080 card. You think this case here the Raijintek Ophion Evo is better ? Lorenzo Nespoli I have an Asus strix rtx2080, 2.75 slot, with the glass panel on it left around 5mm or so of space for the card to breathe. I doubt a 3 slot card would fit though. Side note, the side panel holding the tempered glass is quite sharp and i accidentally sliced my hand not knowing. Overall great itx case!
HuskyTech yeah it does get hot but I haven’t measured how quick it reaches the same temp comparing to a more ventilated case. When my gpu is at about 98% utilisation it runs between 79-83C 100% fan speed. It is noisy not gonna lie.

Got Vega 64 today. Some cleaning (total overhaul) and will test it a bit later. Looking for some aftermarket coolers. But will test it first.

You can thank AdoredTV for my love for the Scottish accent, and this good review for my subscription.

I guess that means double sided tape then haha. Thanks for the reply!
You can use it instead of the bottom van.
Great review! Do you think it's possible to install 2x120 aio radiator/fan combos up top where you have the 240?
Should be room yeah
I really really want to rebuild my 3 pcs into mini atx or itx.. But i can't afford it lol. Nice review m8
They really need to fix their logo.
I agree! Its a deal breaker for me to see the logo on the switch. Im thinking to replace the button or wrap it.
Look my comment is prob quite late by now but I just bought this based on your review for traveling gaming companion and man it's perfect!
Glad to hear it 😊
Hello, any information about case ( far left , wider one , similar to Thetis) from that render You talking about?

@@F7GOS cheers for the reply.
Did yours come with motherboard standoff screws? I just received mine without the standoff screws. Now I can't build in my motherboard...
i guess i should buy a right angled power supply cable?
No need, theres a psu cable passthrough in the case
Wonder why the slot for the gpu isn't lower on this case.
You don't make enough videos. I would watch your content everyday.

There is now a slightly taller one that fits matx boards also... could be the answer your looking for as its still pretty compact

would a 2.5 slot GPU like the 1070 Jetstream fit in this?
Might be tight, you could add a couple of washers to push out the side panel if needed but you would be restricting airflow

The Ophion is a little bigger. It ticks all the boxes for me so just depends on if you prefer function or size.
For me id pick the ophion.
