223: Monster Hunter Nergigante (Creators Model & Figure Builder) Review

- Well once again it’s that time of the year, so Merry Christmas to all of you!
Each year, I do a Christmas special and a New Year special, with one going to a dragon and the other a dinosaur. This year I’m doing this dragon, and I think it oddly inappropriate yet appropriate, because being one of the most dangerous monsters in Monster Hunter, this dragon reminds me of a Christmas tree.
The Creator’s Models feature some of the best recreations of the monsters from the Monster Hunter franchise, and I am delighted to have this incredibly detailed and monstrous dragon. You will see the sculpting, textures, and paintwork are very good and worthy of this Elder Dragon, and it’s not only massive in size, it’s heavy in weight too!
In addition, I also take look at the much smaller Figure Builder Nergigante. Like all Figure Builders we’ve seen, this one though tiny is incredibly detailed and painted, and certainly for those of you who don’t intend to get a Creator’s Model, the Figure Builder is a worthy representation.

The definition in the spines is really wonderful in this model, my friend bought this figure and I got to see it in person! Every single spine is painted so carefully they blend beautifully with the body
Exactly! It really has to be seen to be believed. What's more, I don't even believe this one I have is a first-run one. The first-run Creators Models always look better to my eye. The detail on this does make it a dust magnet though! 😪

Another great review. This guy is as brutish as Kushala Daora is regal and majestic and the sculpt does justice to that. Agree on Fatalis, pose aside, the proportions seem ‘off’ (note: it may be 100% accurate to the game) but the neck seems too long with a too large head at the end.
I’ve recently pulled the trigger on the Silver Duke Malzeno which seems just gorgeous in the pics - hope it lives up to that!
Btw McFarlane’s seem to have 2 new releases, surprise surprise!
Thanks Aamir! Yes, the Fatalis was really disappointing, and the pose was lame. Wow, did you get the Figure Builder or the Creators Model Malzeno? That has to be one of the very few new dragons/ wyverns I actually really like! I hope it's not going to be as big as Fatalis. Would love new offerings about the Rathalos size.
Yes I saw the McFarlanes new dragons. I like the Series 8 Sybaris Berserker, though very disappointed with the form of the Eternal. The Eternals are some of the most beautiful dragons in the McFarlane Dragons line and this one doesn't do it justice. What do you think of both of them?
@@DinosDragons actually I’m not particularly excited by either of the 2 new McFarlane offerings. Agree with your comment on the Eternal and the Sybaris seems reminiscent of the water dragon or even hunter sculpts (which were good) hence not very original.
With the Malzeno, it’s the creators model so fingers crossed!

Did you watch the video? 😉 I don't have it. It's too expensive for me, I find the pose underwhelming, and most of all... it's HUGE! I can put in 2 or even 3 Creators Models in the space that would have occupied this. If I really had the space and the money, I would rather have gotten the Sideshow Rathalos Fiery Bundle diorama. Sadly, I have neither 😭😭

Totally understand about the lack of space. Think I have slightly more large dragons from many different range than you but slightly less dinosaurs of high quality than you. Expensive hobby but space is the biggest limit.
