I‘ve got similar problems with my BigKnob Studio+, but I don‘t dare to take it apart like shown here as I‘m probably not able to put it together again! But when the pressure of suffering becomes too great, I’ll maybe try it. Anyway, you did a great job here showing how to! 💪🏻👏🏻👍🏻🙏🏻. Thanks a lot!
I encourage you not to fear electronics. I've been repairing everything from music gear to computers, cameras, household appliances, and consumer goods since I was in elementary school. I quickly learned that few things are as difficult as they seem, and it's not easy to render the item unusable-as long as you prepare, plan, have the right tools for the job, consider safety guidelines, and don't rush. You'll naturally get faster with repairs, the more you do them. You mostly have to be extra careful with extremely small and delicate parts in any item, and it's not a bad idea to discharge any static from your body before working on electronic devices. To actually do the work though, I recommend recording video of disassembly and keep a deep tray or bowl nearby for small pieces such as screws. Then, you can follow your video to reverse the steps.
I've had two of these and they had this problem with first use straight out of the box. I just use my interface's volume to get around the annoying fuzz. This is great insight!
Hello, Thank you for the video! I'm planning to make this service for my bigknob studio+. My issue is that the left channel (on all 3 monitor OUTs) where not playing any audio. After fiddling around, the issue was resolved by pressing the MONO button in and out several times. Yet I still hear the left channel fading in and out from time to time. Do you have an idea to how I could resolve this? EDIT: I tested that it wasn't the cables or speakers, by having both speakers playing from two separate right channels.
I just can't loosen the big knob, actually I think I just broke the 1.5mm allen key 😪 it doesn't fit anymore, I need the 1/16" now and I don't want to break it as well 😰😨😥
It also depends in the environment the product is in. I am a professional Sound Engineer for over 50 years. I'm now retired doing some works at home. My equipment is pristine, clean, no dust. I clean and cover my equipment everyday. The AC unit spread dust no matter how good of a filter you got. My equipment doesn't have any problems. You saw how dirty this unit was, even inside the pot...
@@josemiranda1241 The product is simply technically poor. The best example is the waste heat, the device gets noticeably warm even when it is only switched on but not actively used. This indicates poor capacitors. Of course, dust may play a role, but I have been using devices in my smoking studio for almost 10 years (id22) without them being defective even once (I even have the predecessor of the Big Knob, the analogue version, which is still alive although it is older). The Big Knob, however, broke twice during the warranty period (CH, 2 years) and a third time shortly afterwards. The last device I had effectively 1 week in use, then 4 months in dry storage due to relocation like all other devices, the only thing that broke was the Big Knob. Nice. So now I have a Big Knob at home that looks like new, broken.
Wow! This video completely solved my problem! Thank you so much for uploading this video! It completely fixed my big knob issues!

Dude Thank you so much. I needed this. I need to do this with my saffire.
I have the exact same problem with the USB button, thanks a lot for the video, now I know how to repair mine! God bless ya'!
