Good video unfortunately mine failed after two years and it looks like it was the USB that was causing all the lights to flicker on and stay on so I had to literally open it up and disconnect the USB in order to use it just as a monitor, but even then it started making some noise and became useless. If you're reading this, I would pass on the big knob because this is the second one I've gotten, and surely after two years they just fail, probably because they overheat.
Mine failed after 3 years, the USB button remained stick when pushed, when I pressed it again to disable USB soundcard, I just couldn't, it remained pressed, and also de sounds via inputs 3/4 started sound noisy, so I dissassembled the whole thing to try clean it with WD-40, so I got the USB button fixed, it works fine now, BUT inputs 3/4 just keep working noisy, they used to work fine, I have to use the 5/6 now.... I'm deciding on selling it cheap, and buy a new one, or try the Behringer Studio XL.... opinions?
The reason why the output signal is low because that SM7B needs a boost the cloudlifter the mackie cant push it. Question can you use this without the usb, in just an analog mode??
Try normalizing or compressing the vocal to increase the volume, when I record vocals also the volume is too low, so I have to edit the recording with Adobe Audition, normilize, compress or sometimes just increasing the gain on the main window, then performing an adaptive noise removal
It shouldn't be that way you need to get an air lifter it will give you more gain to your mic .. or use a different type of mic like a condenser mic they do better with gain than a dynamic mic .. hope this helps..😀🙏🏾
@@XELOhh1 I'd go for the cloudlifter instead a condenser mic, unless you have a very well treated vocal booth, since I don't have one, a condenser mic gives me a lot of ambiental noise, that's why I need a dynamic one, and as far as I can remember a condenser also sound low in volume, so buy a cloudlifter! Thanks for the answer =)
Whats up man, I'm running Pro Tools with this Mackie Big Knob interface and everytime I turn on direct monitoring in Pro Tools, both mic signals sound robotic or autotuny, what can be the the cause of that? Thank You
Are the 1/2 mic outputs of this card suitable for recording electric guitar with DAW VST amplifiers? I did not find a Hi-Z mode, and I do not like the tone, too much background noise and distortion
What do u mean disappearing? So you where able to use it now it longer shows up in the DAW...🤔 Do you have any other DAW to see if the vst shows up in that DAW? You should be able to open the project in safe mode... Gold shift and then open the file will open in safe mode.. take out the vst that you think is the issue and try to pull up the project... What vst is giving you these issues... Is it a vst3 or a vst2?

My question is this thing overheating, please? I got one, but it is always hot like something is burning inside.
Thank you
They run hot from my experience

There are people that use it for that and they say it's fine ..🤔
@@XELOhh1 Yes. This is fine. My inexperience and incorrect auditory perception took their toll.
Do u know how to fix vsts disappearing in cakewalk and crashing when loading other projects with them

You may want to try the RodeCaster II
I will put it on the list... Thanks for watching..😀🙏🏾
