  • On Doubt in Creative Processes: Become a Patron now: / on_doubt . This project publishes long-form interviews with creative minds of all fields. Here's a trailer of such an interview, with Stephan Hövelbrinks ( talecrafter) who's been working on his game, Death Trash (deathtrashgame.tumblr.com), for three years.
Except for music and sound design, Stephan implements all aspects of the game: he designs and implements all tools, workflows, game and level design, dialog structures and world building; art style, character animations - the scope of the tasks seem to be without end - he's both the only programmer and artist, meaning that every aspect of this game traces back right to him.
As a result, it's an extremely personal project - in this clip, Stephan talks about his daily and weekly rhythms, and how working towards a goal that's several years in the future, differs from how most jobs work.
The interview was recorded in Stephan's flat in Berlin, in August 2017.
For now, all aspects of these interviews are self-funded (travelling, equipment, production etc), but I hope for them to eventually work financially: through Patreon. If you want to become a supporter, see what benefits you will get: / on_doubt
