This is less of a full-on idea, but an addon for some other ideas - if you find some cool Brimstone combo, try giving yourself two brimstones! Repentance added some neat mini synergies and cosmetic changes for getting double of some items.

Brett, there's a new item in the game called R key. Using it will teleport you to the first floor of the game. This way you can enjoy your op runs longer if you want. You've always asked for an infinite mode, this is the closest you will get to it. You can give it to yourself infinitely if you want.

Man, the things this game makes you say.
I got a build for ya if you want Brett, it's not broken or anything but i had quite some fun with it.
The basics of it are Tech Zero, Jacob's Ladder and Cricket's Body but you can add more to it.
For example Angelic Prism to multiply the tears or Saturnus and Immaculate Heart to have an orbit of electric tears connected by electricity, it's pretty darn cool.
I found a fun "synergy" with tainted forgotten where if you get ipecac, the thrown tainted forgotten's impact damage explosion will immediately bounce it back the direction it came. You can effecitvely play catch. Seeing how long you can go without the bones hitting the ground in greed mode is a fun time-sink
Ok Brett. You have to try this.
Bethany + Book Of Virtues + Rock Bottom + Shoop Da Whoop + Revelation + Fire Mind + Ipecac + 4.5 Volt
= Behold the light show that is about to unfold before you!
The best part about this build is that all you have to do is build for damage and nothing else! Plus, Soy Milk goes pretty well with this build too.

I dunno if it still would work in Repentance but I found something that I called the Nailestrom: Rubber Cement, 8 Inch Nail, Soy Milk and Lacrephargy (You could add Rock Bottom and Range Up's on first as well if you wish)... I almost killed Delirium with this... In Afterbirth+

A fun combo I got once was simply Book of Virtues and Spin To Win. Using the active rapidly spawns wisps that shoot pretty damn fast. An incredibly strong combo for how easy it can be to get of you're playing Bethany for example

Hey, Brett, I thought up a build to showcase some brimstone's synergies in a fun and silly way. I call it "How to endlessly shoot a big whacky waving arm inflatable tube man THAT BLEEDS LIGHTNING!" Here's the build: Rock Bottom + Jacob's Ladder + Parasite + Cricket's Head + double Brimstone (yes, DOUBLE Brimstone) + Almond Milk. And if you want to fire more tube men, you can also add either Eye Sore or Monstro's Lung. Love your content and hope you enjoy this silly and probably broken build.

The best part is now with tainted cain you can now get these types of synergy thanks edmund for adding a truly fun character to play that isn't cancer.

I love repentance but its also missing my all time favorite item for gamebreaks(Tetrachromacy) so adding mods to this unholy cocktail is going to be a riot
And mods are on. (and achievements are on with mods all the time)

I have discovered an addition to this that could be interesting.
If you add tiny planet, the spin attack is disjointed forward a little bit.
The higher your range stat, the further ahead of you the spin attack goes.

Hhey Bret, got a good one for ya, a reeeeeeeeal interesting one. play azazel, give brimstones than birth rights then tech X. you can play as other characters for this synergy, but azazel makes it a bit more interesting since it allows for thinner tech-x shots! also if you wanna play around with it a bit before, soy milk makes the lasers color absolutely amazing

Hey Brett, don’t know if you see this but brimstone now has a transformation if you get two of it to where it’ll change your character both visibly and the brimstone lazer will be bigger, but any brimstone added after the first two will only increase damage

Holy crud it's the Jontron theme, YOU MAGNIFICENT BASTERDS!
bobs rotten head or white pony (both have been greatly buffed)+9 volt+ 4.5 volt+ ipecac. add rock bottom if you don't want to lose the damage boost
bobs rotten head now deals a flat 185 damage + your current damage stat and leaves behind a poison cloud.
white pony now deals 4 times your damage on both the dash and the beams of light plus 10 damage(beams) or 28(dash)
the beams also now tightly follow your dash instead of randomly raining in the room
both items also now have a 2 room charge. 9 volt reduces them to one room charge, 4.5 volt makes them more usable during boss fights.

and sorry this is long i just want you to see how powerful this combo can be
Try giving yourselfRock bottom, Cricket head, Champion belt, Polyphemus, Midas's touch, Glass cannon, Knockback drops, Sacred Heart, Curved horn,tropicamide. At this point you should become one punch man. Also give yourself like every damage up

It is very fun to watch and hits anything and everything in the room. Plus there's the neat thing that if the the sprite created by tear detonator dies it sets off the tear detonators effect, so if you are waiting on the recharge just go hug somebody and BAM. I shudder at the thought of Jacobs ladder or any tech items with this XD

If you want just a cute little synergy I suggest Psy Fly and the Soul. Between the 2 of them you end up practically impossible to be hit by projectiles including Hush and most if not all of Delirium. It's not the typical break but it's one that's honestly pretty likely for people to get in runs and something I think you should showcase

For extra boom get Mr. Mega and items that make tears split upon hit.
I prefer Cricket's Body, Scatter Bombs and The Parasite.
You have high chances to get hit so give yourself Host Hat too.
I got this synergy naturally once but without Host Hat and with Cricket's Body without The Parasite and Scatter Bombs.

Tear. Do you remember playing Crypt of the Necrodancer. There is a crossover of it and Legend of Zelda made by the creator of Crypt of the Necrodancer and was allowed by Nintendo as they let them use the Legend of Zelda property. Also it has multiplayer so you could play with the others.
