Yeah they are underrated, All these artists that are amazing at drawing and don't get a lot of popularity, and then there's people who do really stupid, obviously staged videos that just kill your brain cells that get all the popularity.

they used to be rlly popular back in the day in the art community but the advanced peoples skills get to animation/animatics people had expectations to that than still pictures sadly
a lot rlly great artists r underrated today for that reason

Everyone always says "JuSt PrAcTiCe" and you'll get better but it's so much more difficult. I'm still learning but I know for sure character art isn't all just practicing considering you need to find your art style, favourite brushes (if you do digital) and stuff like that.
