Hi guys! I’ve read some of the comments left on this video and thought that I should pop by to explain a couple of things! If you follow me on Instagram or Tik Tok, you’ll know that I am a classical violinist. My first reaction when listening to Shut Down was ‘Did they just use La Campanella through the song??’ As a classical musician, I wanted (and even needed) people to know that this was sampled from Paganini (whom I respect and admire very much). This was the very reason I made the video of me playing the La Campanella motive, and why I captioned it ‘Paganini’s La Campanella in Shut Down’. Everyone is entitled to their own views in the debate on whether pop music should sample from classical music, and on whether credit should be given (I think it should - that’s why I made the video). You are more than welcome to leave your views on my videos, but at the end of the day, music should unite and not divide, so I hope people will stop sending hate/personally attacking anyone. Hey! Just wanted to make sure you know that the “SACRILEGIOUS” comments are just sarcasm and not actual hate from twosetter. It is simply one of the fan phrases. It would have been better if they comment the “A - MAZING!” phrase instead but it’s not used as commonly in the fan base. Anyways, great playing!

damn thats beautifull, I play the violin too but im a beginner (i've been playing for four months now) and I love seeing someone play a little slower and not in ten times speed for god's sake. When they play it like their life depends on it it seems impossible to play to me and probabbly to a lot of begginners out there and videos like these give hope that i'll be able to play pieces like this someday, hopefully😅

To people asking how she only used two strings and actually played it. It’s because there are different sounds when you press down on Notes for example on the A string there is C sharp C natural B and we also have D third finger and plenty of more on top I believe I am a musician so I do know what I’m saying on the E string we have B fourth finger and we have G sharp we have B flat we have a first finger F sharp we also have a second finger G and third finger A and finally a F on the first finger. And since he is a very high note, there is different. Sounds on that high note depending on what finger you place on the open A and E it will make a difference sound since she is also using vibrato it going to sound better and it’s when you see her moving her wrist quickly btw Ik this because I play violin myself
If I am correct, she only played on the a and then went to G and D but when you look at the Notes on Pagnini la Campanella, yes it has a lot of those notes like four octaves I think but it is not super Duper complicated but you do need a lot of practice because it is on the same note and with the rhythm it makes it sound like it because that’s kind of how it goes and then it just goes to switch to G or D at the end so yes it is complicated but when you practice enough, it starts to get easier because if you’re only doing the first part, it’s gonna be a little bit easier despite strings it is not on. She did switch to two strings using the a string, I believe if I’m wrong then it is two strings but I thought I did heard the D string. It’s complicated but I know what I’m talking about

It’s not pitched down to E, the starting note is a half step Lower than the original (F) thus making the key B flat minor
