Nice review. I just ordered mine, all black with no serrations for carry duty in my private security job. I have a auto presidio & a mini reflex II but they are legal to own but not carry. The griptillian is perfect for what I need, legal to carry, great design, and of course, very well made, and made in the USA. Doesnt get any better.

I have two Mini-Grip's (D2/ODG & serrated spydie hole) & have been fondling the full sized one at my local dealer. I'm not a huge Cabela's fan, but to get the full size match to my ODG Mini, I guess I'll have to go back there. Great review & thanks again.

Just got mine today and it seems to meet my expectations thus far.....Good job with the review, it honestly helped a lot in deciding whether to add this to my collection.

This is actually a saber grind. The sheeps foot blade with the thumb hole is hollow ground.

I've enjoyed the Grips for a number of years. I do wish that the checkering of the handle sides were the smaller variety like the mini Grips.

Have you got your hands on a Benchmade 300 axis? Or do you have plans to to?

I tried to whip the blade out and put a hole in the soda can on my desk.

Yes i have =) it only took a month. Im a little disapointed with the quality control.. i got a pretty crappy blade and handle scales on mine. it looks like they made it out of the "failed parts bin"

Do you send it back to benchmade to get it re-sharpened?

Why on Gods green earth would not be a man and just do it yourself? Its amazing how as a whole, modern men have lost the skill of sharpening and honing when it used to be so common place

hey bud, could you tell me pls if the axis lock can be conveniently (!) used with one finger, meaning one side pressing only? also when wet and with gloves?
i just find videos of users pressing it two sided.
    thanks for replying.

I personally don't use it that way but everyone else I know just uses their thumb on one side to disengage the lock. I don't know about gloves though.

yes, if laws make carrying locking folders difficult, they are most likely the best thumb-hole opening knives. very lightweight, good steel and ergonomics. kinda... a dragonfly 2 for normal sized hands, 4 finger grip.

10 years later are you still with her?? Hopefully not. Never ever let a woman tell you what to do, you are not a child. Dont be a tyrant and dont take their opinion into consideration, but women telling men what to do is why our society is so chaotic now. They crave power but dont know what to do with it or the responsibility. But you need to be a man, not a manchild as well. Do what is right. Dont put it on your credit card ir stupid stuff. But dont let her boss you like you are a child.

  • @kevin6030

Blade shouldn't move up and down when locked. side to side play is adjustable. You have a bad griptillian my friend. I'd send it back immediately.

Elaborate please?? What causes that. Ive never had a Benchmade before and dont know if its normal or not. I paid 144 for mine, imo it should not move on lock up...its not a 20 dollar Gerber.

I have held it and was not impressed. Too heavy and bulky for a 3.18" blade.
