i had this done today it’s not bad at all , you feel no pain during the procedure and even afterward it’s only a little sore.it’s nothing to worry about.the injections r the only part that u will feel and it’s no more painful than when u get a simple filling. if you read anyone saying otherwise then they r likely trying to scare you or just have a very low pain tolerance.i wasn’t even under anaesthetic or gas just plain old numbing lol
I have a question, so basically I chipped a tooth near me canine on the left side of my mouth and it stopped that canine above it from coming down, so when I went to the dentist a year later they said what happened and that I need braces and a tooth extracted, are you sure it didn’t hurt because I’m kinda scared now 😂

I had this done 2 years ago, and my canine tooth just came down a few months ago😬 definitely a long, painful process. The surgery was painful, but in my opinion, getting the chain adjusted every month hurt worse because of how sensitive the tooth is. My gums got so swollen and the area would bleed if I even touched it, I even cried at my appointments sometimes because the adjustment hurt so bad. But I’m glad that now it’s almost over!
Omggg I got my expose about two weeks ego and im in so much pain. I been worry like how much pain is normal ?

@@wholelottapain8130 yes! The tooth is perfectly normal, my orthodontist said it normally take 1-2 years for a canine specifically to come down

I got it done yesterday and my face swole up a little bit but besides that minor annoyance it doesnt hurt AT ALL. sounds bonkers I know but getting my first power chain hurt more.

My surgeon said this isnt the best way. Just removing all that tissue. But to make a flap so when the tooth comes down more tissue with follow with it.
I’ve had this procedure done. It sucks: and it caused canker sores coz of the trauma to the area. It hurts super bad all through the healing process.

i've had braces on since 2019 and had this surgery in 2020.. Now my impacted canine is almost visible in its position but all the pulling has made my other posterior teeth come inward while the teeth in my other quadrant are pushed outward.. my mouth looks absolutley weird right now.. my doctor said that once i pull the canine out then i'll be able to align your other teeth..

Oooops same with mine. I had my impacted canine on my upper palate. I’m done with my surgery, and yeah, i tell you... it doesn’t hurt a lot just make sure you don’t have canker sores in ur mouth

So question I’m getting this done ✔️ in 4 months or so. I have two impacted canines and wisdoms that need to be removed. When they pull my impacted canine down over my baby teeth 🦷 will it be a straight tooth or crooked?

@H L yea, I did it, confirm this, the doctor told me that he will put the braces and there are chances he will not remove the teeth, but then he said he will and in mind was like "oh shit, I'm out", but it was too late, even thought it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be even thought it was a little painful

@@wholelottapain8130 Had it done a couple weeks ago and it was a breeze but boy was the healing annoying. Let’s just say that dissolvable stitches are the worst.

@@wholelottapain8130 It ached a bit immediately after and for about six days. Might have been less, the day after there was a horrendous amount of swelling though, my face really puffed up on the side where the tooth was, but it had settled down after another two days. The stitches took about three weeks to come out though. The last one was gone by last Saturday I think. A bit of the gum still hasn’t closed up but it just needs time and there’s no pain anymore. A word of advice though, do not drink anything really cold when you get to go home, specifically a McDonald’s milkshake. I learned that the hard way 😂😅

It’s different for every surgeon but I’m pretty sure this might happen to me tomorrow. That or they manually cut into my gums. But i hope the suregery is short enough that I can take ibuprofen beforehand

Genuinely why after the surgery do they have the orthodontic assistants perform the exposure appointments considering all the pain it gives a patient it gives more anxiety knowing the actual doctor isn’t doing it just seems like something the orthodontist themselves should do

@@rebeccaoconnell6452 yeah it was very nice and easy the injections hurt too hard I was under local anaesthesia I only felt pain about 4 hour post the surgery some bleeding happened make sure you have painkillers for after the surgery . I recovered very fast I was able to eat normally from the first just avoided to get food into the site of the surgery. It was easier than I ever imagined. Don't be afraid the injections are the worst part . But you will be okay after all. wish you luck

@@hashimkhann._2961 Actually , I am not sure if they are the same, but they were many. The whole process of injections took around 10 seconds, personally I was crying in pain. Anyway don't over worry about it, you will ve okay
