Respect Kenyan Vloggers, is not easy to create content on the streets.
You are a strong guy
You both are doing an amazing job.
Am a Nigerian content creator here in Kenya 🇰🇪 and I know how it all feels👍
Same thing happened to me in Uganda woow. Sorry bro but we will recover slowly
Nairobi CBD is a total non flying zone even aeroplanes can't fly there, kenya has to be protected from terrorists at all cost even if it means having zero content, we don't want a case like the one that happened in the US
It's not that they disrespect vloggers, it's because of security reasons, Security is paramount especially due to the terrorist attacks, the drones can be used to bomb or even take reconnaissance by the terrorists. So that's the reason Kenya government is serious about the drones.
The restrictions are necessary for obvious reasons. If you know, you know.
I love hearing about other African countries. Even random topics like this is so enlightening for us in the diaspora. Keep up the good work Steven!
Thank you

Due to Trudy and African traveler I have subscribed .welcome brother and sorry for the experience you had in our country Kenya.
Thank you
I do not think drone regulations in Nairobi will become less strict very soon. If anything, the regulations will become stricter. Nairobi has a lot of international corporations and if you fly a drone they can think that you are spying on them that is why it is hard to deploy a drone especially in major areas around the city.
I never knew all of this
People are so insecure nowadays,God is all the protection any1 can ever need for eternity, thinking people are spying on you when they just doing their thing.
@@adewanick349 things have happened before and were ignored , later caused alot of devastation and loss of lives. So for security of the whole vigilance and high alertness is paramount.
What if its an irgaization flying in with a drone for work? Do we need a special permit or something like that. Kindly if you happen to know what we need to have before travelling will appreciate

With the number of terrorist attacks we have had in nairobi its understandable security is very important
You worried about terrorists using drone?😅
@@shangothunder1055 yeahhhh. Some do.
@@hillarykomen4801 In Nairobi?😂
Not only in Nairobi but everywhere😂😂😂😂 they survey the area using drones..... That's why embassies, army barracks, police stations and official residences do not allow flying of drones. That happens everywhere.
@@shangothunder1055 dont downplay the security issues.,even in armed USA you cannot jaywalk around a federal building

Wow! Such an experience. We learn every day. Weldone
So sad
Constant attacks by the al shabab that has allegance to al kaeda prompted the rules to be more tight flying a drone and even vlogging in the city can get you arrested what content creators go through to give us quality shots and contents despite the great odds
True. I could make a drone in my room. Imagine what a terrorist could do

Sorry about your drone experience in Kenya
Thank you
I am sorry for what you went through. But I am so glad my country is doing great on security and should do even more. It is crucial considering Nairobi is a tourist hub and has once been considered a terror hotbed
I understood where they where coming from
Mombasa even has worse regulations . not even filming the streets is allowed
Why didn't you put your drone in a GPS mode so that you can easily push the return home button? I hope you have warranty.
interesting topic about legality of flying drones. just be careful before you venture out, this may apply to all other African countries! ok, I'll subscribe. you should hit your 50k subs by mid August. best wishes ! cheers. 🍻

It’s actually mad. I was able to take my drone to Mombasa tho. Flew a bit around my hotel at Diani beach. Probably didn’t get much trouble cos it’s primarily tourist zone. Tho the hotel staff came to interrupt not long after. Watching this clip I’m thinking I was just lucky. The security there is on edge.
I think it’s less in Mombasa… cause you flew from your hotel, if it where on the road or somewhere public, you will be caught
Understand the security is so tight coz of terrorism.i respect content creators but but respect the security for doing their work.
Kenya definitely has very strict regulations .. that’s good though but probably they should create a more enabling environment for content creators 🙏🏽🥺
we are prone to attacks so we have to keep guard

“Red Zone” is international NFZ (No Fly Zone). DJi drones will not take off in NFZ. You will be warned if you approach a NFZ and if you get to NFZ aircraft will force a Return Home

Tough regulation over here in Kenya💯💯💯
Sorry men, Kenya has got tough regulations
They do
Wow 😯
Interesting video...and lessons....so one day when you are in a position of leadership within the African continent that can formulate policies to help ease anything that has to do with content creation, entrepreneurship especially with respect to flying drones, you would talk from a level of experience, citing your Kenyan adventure NOT text book, hearsay or theory. This is the real way we can change Africa for good for our generation and next .So did you finally get the drone back??
Yes we got the drone back the next day, but it will not in a good shape
But Trudi was in Lagos and the police seized her drone ( they gave it back eventually) but she acted shell shocked as if it was the strangest thing to ever happen to her !
The reason people give for not flying zones are atrocious and petty!
People all over Africa and the world, need to lighten up!
Thanks for watching
We missed your videos.
So sorry, been busy shooting
not come with it to Uganda as well it will be the some thing
Drone flying and photography laws in Kenya are actually becoming harsher and harsher! Most probability you'll be in severe trouble!
This rule is necessary.
It's for our own security individually and as a nation.
It's good there are regulations.
Seriously I wouldn't want to see a drone over my personal space let alone in the public space.
You don’t have right to fly drone to gated community houses and in the city taking pictures and you don’t have permit to do that
Yes with the drone it's difficult but don't exaggerate that we can't take videos and pictures with a camera.
Welcome home
Drone is prohibited here in Rwanda too.but at least here you can use your own camera anywhere apart from embassies and government offices .I think african leaders should give value to content creators because they are doing an amazing job to promote the continent .thank you for share with us some advices before we go to Kenya 🇰🇪

Almost everywhere is not allowed
You can take pictures but drones are not accepted in most part of the Nairobi but outside Nairobi is okay. Mostly because of al shabab use the footage to plan. But it also depends with the property owners
