  • Got the bigger brother of the K1 and this could literally replace all my printers ;) Happy to replace the larger Artillery Bedslingers at least, not giving up the Flashforge tho...
    ►K1max 🛒Creality: shrsl.com/4ifxf
    I deliver honest opinions, well researched and tested (sometimes "almost scientific" ;) reviews! If you can support this idea please check my PATREON 🙏: bit.ly/2ESMtIO
    ►Tipp: check the price at Geekbuying: www.geekbuying.com/go/8duqdpRl (use CODE ⭐NNNDEK1M⭐ should be there for 665€!!! (if the code still works)
    📋 Infos (covered in this test):
    Many components shared with k1
    + LARGER buildplate!
    + Lidar
    + spare hotend and nozzle
    + Glass top lid
    + filament sensor inside
    🐳Orca Wifi print only with rooted Klipper
    - but device tab can show crealitys gui
    - upload and print over that if one doesn't wanna root and update!
    Tip: You have to HOME all axis before you can start printing this way
    Error msg: "please return to the printer..."
    really means "home the printer axis"
    - came with pretty old firmware (1.3.0.39 from July/2023) and said this is the most current?
    - used USB Stick and downloaded firmware 1.3.3.8 (March/24) from here: www.creality.com/pages/downlo...
    - enabled root access in settings (on printer LCD)
    - only after you update to the most current firmware, you can have root access: user: root pwd: creality_2023
    💡 ROOTING guide here:
    guilouz.github.io/Creality-K1...
    or in short:
    1. Download the HELPER script: git clone github.com/Guilouz/Creality-H... /usr/data/helper-script
    2. RUN the script:
    sh /usr/data/helper-script/helper.sh
    (and here just install the essentials + maybe OctoEverywhere)
    if you need to roll back to ORIGINAL Firmware:
    guilouz.github.io/Creality-K1...
    some more tips 💡:
    ✅ df -h to check used diskspace...
    ✅ go thru this for correct date/time: guilouz.github.io/Creality-K1...
    ✅ download Timelapses via the net:
    (use WinSCP proggy and user: root / pwd: creality_2023 to logon)
    copy files from here: /usr/data/creality/userdata/delay_image/video
    ✅Make sure your K1max Bed is LEVEL!
    heat up the bed to your normal print temp
    let it measure the auto bed mesh (lcd, or gui)
    not the difference and try to counteract them with those "washers":

    Fantastic review, Mario! Thanks!!! 😃
    This is the 3d printer I'm going to buy, no doubt about that! (The only doubt is when. 😬)
    Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

    Amazing Review! I have one too and can you kindly answer this: when you printed TPU did you used the side/back spool holder or another method? Thanks!

    Hi Mario, finally wich is better, creality k1 max o flashforge m5 pro?

    • @Rcschim
      @Rcschim  Месяц назад +2

      For best possible quality I chose the flash. But over all I’d say the k1 max since it haha better build volume, better software, more reliable webcam and network (that’s driving me crazy on the flash).

    Hi Mario, Whats the best mini quad filament to use? Tough-PLA, Polycarbonate Filament or ASA.

    • @Rcschim
      @Rcschim  Месяц назад

      for wich part of the miniquad? for the arms? body? or just for gopromounts? I only printed TPU for the mounts on quads...
      So far I didnt print parts that were super rigid. I guess ASA or Nylon are quite stiff?

    I am on the verge of rooting my K1 max but I have some unanswered questions all is well and good that I can access remotely to print, but is the screen still able to be used to print in person?
    This is one of the only things stopping me from going down this path, any advice would be great.

    • @Rcschim
      @Rcschim  Месяц назад

      Yes, the screen works exactly as before. The only difference I guess is that he doesn't tell me each step (wipe nozzle, levelling,...) in detail.

      @@Rcschim so long as my wife can still print things on her own while I am away with work that is all I need. Thanks for the quick reply.

    This may be a stupid question, but with a stock printer running stock firmware, is the LIDAR sensor active? I ask this as I have never seen any red laser. Coming from it.

    • @Rcschim
      @Rcschim  Месяц назад

      haha, I also didn't see much laser - but then realized, these options are off per default ;) check in the settings, under camera, there are some LIDAR options (I have a screenshot in this video) but what I see from other reviews at least a few months ago it looked pretty half baked. Especially the motion advance calibration (where it prints a zig zag pattern and measures this with the lidar) is not really beneficial for print quality.

    hello :) do you have any idea what version your K1 max is? V1- V2 or V3?

    • @Rcschim
      @Rcschim  Месяц назад

      honestly: no ;) at least I saw it's not the one with "unicorn" nozzles.
      the firmware on it was from July 2023 - so maybe it was a V1?

    I'm in the market for a large volume printer and have been looking at the K1 Max for a while. What's your experience with VFA? Has this improved with the latest update? Were you able to address this?

    • @Rcschim
      @Rcschim  Месяц назад +1

      I didn't do beauty prints. Need to test this more. Shouldn't be a problem for this printer imho. Will update you here in a few days

      Printed the orca vfa test today:
      from 80-300 in 20mm steps:
      Severe at 180mm/sec on 60degree
      80,100mm on most directions
      On error on 300mm at 45 degree
      Overall quite nice results considering the speeds. More vfa to be seen on low speeds.

      I have received the printer and STRONGLY advise against getting one: quality control is non-existent, print quality is worse than my €250 printer, many failed prints, maintenace is a pain in the back and it's not noisy, the noise levels are infernal.
      I can't share your enthusiasm unfortunately.
