It's heartening to see even though she was injured so badly, that she was able to pick up the recreation.

love your story, my cousin was in a skiing accident Jan. 7th 2011 thanks to an improperly marked jump. he shattered his C-1 and crushed C-2 through C-6. if he didnt have his helmet on he would not be here. he is now a quadriplegic C5/C6 incomplete. hes doing great and i really hope one day he can have the oppertunities to do what you do :) your amazing!

What a sweet girl, and hot too! I would never be able to bounce back like she did- that's incredible. I'm sure she has her moments, but she also has a unique gift to be able to focus on what she needs to do instead of wallowing in self pity. She'll go far in life, no doubt in my mind- she'll probably start her own business. Gives me a whole different perspective now when I see someone in a wheelchair! Thanks Lauren ;)

For quadriplegia you need to consider the level of the injury as well as the injury completeness. Injuries in the C1-C4 area (the number denotes which cervical vertebrae) usually affects arm movement more so than a C5-C7 injury. Individuals with quadriplegia usually have some finger dysfunction. So, you could have someone with functional arms and fingers that don't work as well.

Watching you play rugby (I've done it a few times myself) makes me want to get back in my glory days of playing wheelchair basketball. Class II shooting guard. 6.5 second endline to endline sprints :) Those rugby players hit hard, the videos don't do it justice ;)

good job there girl. I have been a quad c6/7 compleate) for 40 yr and have never seen a quad rugby. living out here we are few and far between. i love the statement about "I want to do this now HOW do I do it" that message neets to be sent to every quad/para. Over the 40 yr I have done a lot of cool things with that attitude. One caution..take care of the elbows and shoulders. although 99 percent of my time I use a manual chair but I aabused my shouloders to the point where I use a power chair for extended runs driving and riding my 750 trike duee to my shoulders wearing out..keep at it kid life can be good if you make it that way My frear is not of death but of not living. good video.

Sorry if I sound misinformed or insensitive here. But, doesn't quad mean four? She's using her arms.. Someone please help me understand if I'm wrong or not.

Its easy to do. Shallow end of the pool - Falling in, and snapping your spine when you hit the bottom.
Its one of the main reasons as to why the signs for not diving in shallow water are there.

Like, even though your spine is hosed, you have plenty of pounce to the ounce, and you're very cute. You go, girl!

@12345nejihyuga it's really easy to be done, the sides of a pool are very hard.
