There is something about the basic art design and the filters- that makes it far more gross and unsettling than even the most technically impressive games. Your brain has to fill in the gaps- and I just don't want to. Another great video, my friend.
I loved Condemned. Missed this one tho. Gotta say brother. Everytime I hear you're tracks I get Mick Gordon vibes. Keep doing what you're doing. Well done sir. Also. Having voice tracks like " Ah my teeth" after smacking an enemy in the chops is something I didn't know I needed. But I do.
David Szymanski GETS his fans. Just a month ago I pitched a Condemned inspired found footage horror first person brawler with magical realism to a friend without knowing this was coming out. To be fair, my idea was more Manhunt with an underground fighting ring that captures homeless people and pits them against vaguely inhuman creatures but still. This man knows what the people who went feral over Dusk and Squirrel Stapeler want and I love him for it.
You ALREADY made the review?? Get some sleep dude! It definitely wasn't perfect, but I really loved this game. It was short but for $8, I can't complain. Anyway sick video as always. Your music is amazing 👏
Saw this released, but I'm gonna wait for Deficit, a new FPS game inspired by Condemned Criminal Origins and The Chronicles of Riddick Escape From Butcher's Bay. Looks like it came straight out of the 2000s and I'm perfectly fine with that. I'm glad to finally see 2000s FPS games returning. Was very burned out with all the 1990s styled FPS games flooding the market.
The quick line from Legion in your music near the end got me thinking. If you'd be interested in covering it now would be a pretty good time to cover the Mass Effect games. The announcement just hit that Bioware Edmonton will be shuttered (where the two founding doctors of the studio made Baldur's Gate, Dragon Age: Origins, and the Mass Effect trilogy). Especially considering you like to cover the legacies of games now might be the right time.
SPOILERS BELOW You basically self fulfill a prophecy of being consumed by Shub-Niggurath and satiating it completely with your bloodlust. The videotapes weren't really doing it for Shub any longer. Don't worry though, Ranger fucked that thing up... from the inside out, lmfao. (I know Quake isn't connected)
I just ended playing for the first time (2am!) and I'm quite impressed. I had played backrooms games which use these vhs effects... but this hits different. The immersion is incredible. The enemies are jank, truth to be told. Overall, I can't wait to play again tomorrow in the night.
I just finished this game last night. LOVED IT. I gotta ask though... because when it happened I wasn't sure if I screwed up or not. Was that REALLY the ending? Are there multiple endings in this game?
I really liked this game, I was kind of expecting more Manhunt than Condemned (it's on my backlog but I haven't gotten around to it), but overall I enjoyed my time with Butcher's Creek. (Spoilers btw so don't press read more if you don't want spoilers) The presentation is immaculate. The environments, visual style, and audio are all top notch. This game feels like what a Manhunt 3 would look like if it also had more rural/nature environments. I hope David puts the music on Spotify because I neeeeeed it. The gameplay is fun for a 2 hour experience. My complaints have to do with the end and story (slightly). The ending levels become kind of tiring, I think it peaks during the forest after escaping Fairy Castle. The invisible enemy gimmick sucks, I hate it. It's not fun or tense, it just feels irritating to go up against and they become too comfortable throwing the tie-dye Eric Cartman soundalike enemies at you. I also don't vibe with the supernatural stuff. Granted I haven't played Condemned or David's other games (it ties into them but i haven't played them) but I wish it leaned more into Manhunt stuff, by keeping the lore grounded in reality and just presenting the gang you fight as just generally crazy people, and a final boss like Piggsy would've been preferrable imo. It feels like the VHS aesthetic kind of clashes with the monster. I think that this game is enjoyable, but needs a expansion or sequel to refine it's gameplay and reach it's full potential, but as it is it's a fun 2 hour horror experience. 7.5/10, def gonna start a playthrough on Hard difficulty today.
It's a shame the AI were so broken in this game, it could have been a 10/10, instead it's a 7/8. Half the time they just stand there and don't do anything, and when they do do something, they just walk towards you and get easily killed.
@@Dougstanhope9STALKER, the trilogy games have impressive AI. The Division series actually has very good AI especially at higher levels. Operation Flashpoint did. Mostly older games. AI in games these days has been extremely lacking especially in triple A games..
@@HyperTensionJohnny it's such a awesome half life tribute, the ai is a bit dumb, but it was on sale for like $8 and the game is just a blast, also the gore effects are epic and the ray tracing makes it look like a surreal half life fever dream

I got into your channel because of Hypertension films. I love your stuff!
@@covertgorilla950 Thank you so much, my friend.
Hyper Tension is the GOAT.
See you here, and on my channel too!
This is great! DH makes incredible videos.

Yeah I could see that. I love some of Mick's work, so I wouldn't be surprised if the influence seeped in
Awwwww hell yea. I knew this was going to happen fast. Thanks HTJ for another heater.
My pleasure. Hope you enjoyed it!

This game looks so disgustingly grimy. I love it.
Ultra filthy
Currently in the middle of my first Dusk playthrough. I've already wishlisted and so ready to get it next.
Oh man I wish I could experience Dusk for the first time again

Right? I got this notification and I thought I misread the title. Stupid-fast turnover.
Music is on fuckin point!! 🤘🏻
As always.
That opening was such a bop. I had the cat meme in my head lmao

Always is
🤙🎵 so glad you enjoyed it!
Nice! I knew you’d do a video on this after seeing your preview a few months back.
Hope you enjoyed it ✌️
My man has yet to miss on a video- hoping it pops off soon, bro 🙏🏻
I was having kind of a crappy morning. This really helped man.
This will have to do, welcome back Condemned and Manhunt. David Szymanski really can't miss.

I can't wait to play Deficit. I keep checking Steam every week for an update.
That’s strange… to me deficit looks much more modern- a lot closer to the system shock remake than anything pre 2010 (referring to visuals)

11:09 Gorgeous detail with the tower!!!

Pandora review soon...

That would be the perfect unofficial connection to Quake. Ranger vs Tooth Sower would be sick.

Y'know, I'm not certain. I've only completed it once so far. Hopefully
Well I wasn't a big manhunt fan, cos it was too brutal to me. But I'm kinda interested, what Butcher's Creek exactly is :)
Great video and great game!

As relaxed as the censorship rules for video games are these days in Germany, I wouldn't be surprised if I had to buy it via VPN.
I hope you get to enjoy it, man

Recommend some games with good AI .
FEAR and Stalker 1. Hands down.
That's fair. It's not flawless or anything. I just loved it

good Review

How high* do you rate the Movie "Blair Witch Projekt" ?

It was worth the wait even though it was short. Check out VLADiD BRUTAL if you haven't. Fantastic experience
Oh that Russian game? I really want to try it. Looks like my kind of FPS
