This honestly looks like it would take all the fun out of the game for me. The absolute best part of playing Monopoly is getting to handle large amounts of fake cash.
I love how they try to make the forced deal mechanic work (unlike in cheaters edition which was mayhem and basically increased the luck factor even more) but they still don't understand that it's only "fair-ish" if and only if neither player lose a monopoly or gains one ... here they only made it so a player can't lose a monopoly, but can still get one with a forced trade (ruining the negotiation aspect of the game, which is a problem that appears in many recent Monopoly versions , they still don't understand that applying the rules of the Monopoly deal card game (which really is its own game and only works in a card game) makes no sense for the board game)
cheapest display ever. "The 90s are calling, they want their display back!" Probably meant for kids who are fascinated by pressing buttons and fake credit cards. I do feel sorry for the parents who are forced to play this with them...
@@KalmerVT not exactly... This game is entirely up to that machine and determine everything at random while regular monopoly is doing things manually and you can still control things around... Even the dice, trading with another player and auction properties manually without time limit
Good old cheap non backlit/front-lit lcd screens. Yea, my only criticism of the video is that he could have changed the light angle for the machine shots so it gives more contrast
Of all the Monopoly games that use credit cards instead of paper mone;, I best like the 2008 Here & Now The World Edition (in a round collector’s tin with 30 tokens), The Simpsons (with each credit card plastered with a Simpsons character), and the 2011 Electronic Banking edition (with a different keypad system).
My bother bought a similar electronic Monopoly game years ago with "bank cards." It is not fun to play. It is too fiddley having to interact with the computer. It is also too easy to forget how much money you have. I'd avoid this edition of Monopoly.
I played that game. You forgot these features: the sound effects and actual songs (in this case The Pointer Sisters’ I’m So Excited for passing or landing on GO).
If it did have such a cheap screen I think it would feel much coolers. I can barely see it on the video and I can’t imagine it’s much easier in person. For $62 they could have probably done better.
