Good Morning, from California USA>.. have to share with you... I play videos to sleep all night long... last night I was watching a video of yours.. and you were still playing this morning.... which it usually turns off at some point.... well. honey pops into the room and says .... " Who were you watching?" I look at him, still sleeping slightly, and confused say... IDK what was it? he says IDK either, but what a great voice! Now, I have to say, he NEVER COMMENTS on anything like this, so feel blessed Rachel! that is a high compliment for sure.... :)

Ohhh Rachel… What a fun video!!! It’s so fabulous to see how each challenge member has taken the same idea and produced such different pieces. I really love what you’ve made!!! I also love that you completed the challenge using a regular sewing machine foot as it opens up possibilities and ideas for those who don’t have a free motion foot. It was really fun to see how you took them all to the next level by drawing on different rafting resources and your incredible imagination!!! Ann, where do you live? I have an older Kenmore that works like a champ for sewing on paper and fabric and I just decided it needs to move. I have two other machines😑

What a nice collaboration. ....l find it interesting that you found it out of the ordinary for you...when you have master this craft (paper/textile) blending. I have been sewing without that free/motion element for the pass 28 year's, and l only drop the dog feed's when l use thick paper/textile...as with all these elements after time we master it all. Thanks again for sharing your beautiful craft.

Love this idea! When I didn’t have a machine with a foot for free-motion stitching, I would tape piece of card stock over the feed dogs (so you can stitch in any direction) and just take the presser foot off. Just remember to lower the presser foot lever. You might try that? It’s a lot of fun!

When I first started quilting, I also quilted with a machine where I couldn't drop the feed dogs for free motion stitching. Covering the feed dogs worked well enough. ROXY, you may also see if your machine allows you to adjust the presser foot pressure. Most machines have it for sewing on heavier/ thicker fabrics. If you can lessen the foot pressure that would also make 'free motion' stitching easier on your machine. Hope this helps so you can experience even more freedom while free stitching your tags.

I love what you've created and fab inspiration as always 😍
If you don't have a universal foot you can get away with using your machine without a foot. Your fabric etc will just feel a bit looser as there isn't a foot holding it down (it'd be easier if you're stitching paper on its own or with fabric as it's firmer). If you put your fabric in a hoop (putting it in the hood so the top is flat on your table) you have much better control.
