  • It looks like it is almost completed, but believe me, there are so many more details to be looked at. I am really happy with the way it turns out though!

    Elin, sending you a well deserved pat on the back via the old interwebs for a job well done.

    You have quite a squadron of Triumphs forming there! Well Done Sir! I'd give my left nut to buy one of your restorations.

      Yeah, at some point there were 7 of them in the shop.

    This Navy man likes the fresh haircut, Elin. Interior looks awesome - good job! I personally am not a big fan of the TR6 (not sure why), but you've got a great one there...because of all of your hard work! I'll have to get Dorothy in on that car show next time. Love the TR4. And your first Rusty Beauty, of course!

      Believe it or not, I am not a big fan of TR6 too. But after I drove this one I started having second thoughts.
      LOL! Not many people made it to that car show. So next year it will be open only to those who are aware of it :) Dorothy will be the featured car!

    One remark on the luggage rack.......it should be installed the other way around since the higher part should be at the side of the interior. This way it protects you during a collision........

    • @RustyBeauties
      @RustyBeauties  6 лет назад

      There are many different opinions about that. My opinion is that in a collision the luggage (that I will never install there anyways) would roll over that bar even if it is in front of it. But having it behind the luggage will definitely help it stay n place in a fast accelerating (which I don't plan to do either) Anyway. I like the look of it better when it is in the back.

    Elin, you're a sports car driver now, you should be listening to the symphony which is the exhaust Sound System. Especially the beautiful howl of a TR6 !! best regards, Geoff from Merimbula Australia...

      Geoff Dunstan I totally agree. No radio required! 😎

      Thanks Cheftush, please get into Elin about it !!

      When it is your daily driver it becomes boring at some point to listen to the engine idling for 1 hour in traffic. It is easier to turn the radio off when you want to listen to the engine than to sing your own songs when you have no radio and you need one. LOL

    Hi Elin- I've seen package shelf speaker box designs on-line. You were saying you didn't know where to put speakers... nice work. (I have a '75 that needs resto.)

    Great work on this one, Elin! By the way, I like your WRC t-shirt! I've been a fan for many years, and never miss an event. Looking forward to Rally Deutschland this weekend!

      Yeah, I was going to some rellies with my friends when I was living in Europe. I was never a fanatic, but I liked the hiking part and the smell of the burned fuel. My friends are currently in Turkey for the Rally Of Turkey. I wish I was there too..

      Wow, very lucky for them. This is the first time in years that Turkey is back on the the WRC calendar, and it's a great event. Good to see that your TR is about done. Have a great time at British Car Day!

    Elin when you look at the suspension the only 2 things that can effect ride height are the springs and the trailing arm brackets.Stock springs are 11.5 inches in length and the trailing arm brackets are 1 cut out on the outside one and 3 cut outs on the inside one .

      Thanks Ralph. That information helped me a lot. As you know already the tires were the issue anyway.

    Thanks for sharing your TR6 restoration process. Your site has been invaluable as I restore my 71 TR6. Did you recover your seats or did you have someone do it? I plan on recovering my own seats and wondered if you had a video or a site that would help? thanks again!

    Great video, very instructive Elin. So what is the correct sequence for installing the dash support? You need carpet over the tunnel, correct? But leave carpet off the floor, so you can attach dash support direct to floor?

    • @RustyBeauties
      @RustyBeauties  3 года назад

      Correct. The floor carpet covers the "dog legs" of the dash support

    Elin, the panels that are over the wheel arches, do they just have the 3 screws at the top that hold them on? What about the front edge close to the B post, are there any fasteners on that edge?

    • @RustyBeauties
      @RustyBeauties  3 года назад

      The bottom is held by the seatbelt bolt to the bottom of the b-post, but I can't remember if there was a screw in the middle

      Well, just like kids are always kids in their parents eyes, my rusty beauties are always my rusty beauties :) I have to make a decision about the GT6 and 74 TR6... Not making plans for now

    Well done to you sir. I’m at the start of a restoration project and only hope I can get to this stage and your level of detail. All the best, looking forward to the next one. GT6 or something new?

    • @RustyBeauties
      @RustyBeauties  6 лет назад

      You will be surprised how when you turn back you won't believe you've done all that yourself... Good luck. Not sure if I will go back to the GT6 now or start with the 74 TR6. It is a little political question, not only my decision

    Great job Elin.
    Have you done a video on a Tr3/4 diff. Thinking of using a 4.1:1 on my 3a. Just not sure how difficult the set up is.

      I only replaced the seals on one, but other than that I've never done any other work on a diff. Sorry
