20,000 GRC Analyst Masterclass students?! Wow, great to hear of this interest in an awesome and underrated field that makes a great entry point into cybersecurity for applicants from diverse backgrounds. Solid tips outlined in this video to gain practical experience. If your company has a GRC team another idea is to ask them if you can help with an audit or vendor risk assessment as a stretch assignment.
You are awesome Gerry! I am going to download your book now. I've completed your GRC Analyst Masterclass just before New Years and I absolutely loved it!
I am incredibly excited to have come across your RUclips page and website, Gerald! I recently joined X and had an e-friend recommend YOU personally. I come from a legal background, and have been trying to break into Data Privacy & Cybersecurity, particularly the GRC side of things. I have already downloaded your free e-book and am currently going through it!
Woo! Thanks for this video Gerry! I get asked this question ALL THE TIME and I always respond with "well it depends on xyz.." This video provides actionable resources for individuals to take advantage of. I will be saving this video and referencing it when I get asked this question this year. Thanks for always providing great content!
I have the Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate. It's great but for a raw beginner, I don't feel super confident getting a job with just that. I feel I need more hands. That certificate I did in less than two months. Going to take the IT cert see if I feel better 😂 Its a great place to start though and I loved the course.
The idea of the google cybersec cert is to give you foundational knowledge and give you an idea of where to go. They even encourage you to get a dual certification with CompTia Sec+ following the google cert. the google cert alone will not help you get a job, I would do Sec+, and potentially another high level cert. additionally, you’ll want to apply practical knowledge, so, working on labs, using linux, using hacking tools. Grow your knowledge, the field is vast, if you think you’re done at the google cert, you’re in trouble!

Are there any upcoming promotions on the GRC Analyst program? I just noticed price increased right before I was going to enroll.
I can’t predict but if I was looking at a calendar mid April would be glowing….
