- Foreigner continues his travels through India and leave Bangalore station on a double decker train to the city of Vellore in Tamil Nadu. On the way as usual we meet all sorts of friendly Indian locals and one even takes me for a street food treat before settling in at a local hotel.
you know it’s india when a rajasthani man is showing around tamil nadu to a foreigner. The diversity of this country gives me goosebumps every time

People think building roads and fancy shopping centres is development while In most states there are
No standards for cleanliness and hygiene.
Indians don't drive with any discipline or follow road rules.
Indians litter everywhere even around national monuments.
Public toilets are filthy unless its a mall or airport. Women cant dress the way they want without the fear of sexual harassment or even rape.
Cows are allowed to roam free and shit anywhere because its holy but the same cows get hit by vehicles on the road.
All the above can be fixed if the culture was correct, you dont need to be developed tor modern to fix the above do you? but unfortunately many Indians turn a blind eye to the actual problems and praise themselves on foreigner vlogs lol.

Incredibly Unbelievable Bargaining Skill. Even majority of Indians won't be able bargain to such an extent. Though 50/- for 5 Kms was pretty low but amazing to see that you stood your ground. 100/- for 5 Kms was a very good deal.

A tip: always ask some local passenger the price or fare beforehand. Don't trust the auto drivers and cab drivers and ask them directly. If they see a foreigner they'll ask a much higher price. But i guess you already know that 😅

After you visit Chennai, you absolutely must visit Pondicherry or as now called Puducherry, a erstwhile quaint French colony with French architecture and cafe and bakeries. Also the experimental community township Auroville is situated there, a nice experience to get by a visit.😊

Just a little massage for our foreigner guests please don't pay too much attention to those auto drivers or other street sellers if you think the price is too high just simply walk away and find some other one or you can ask for others for help just avoid those with bad intentions.
Love the way you bargained with the famous TN rickshaw drivers. Thought you would have to pay 150 atleast. But Vellore seems far reasonable than Chennai. Waiting to see the bargains you strike in Chennai.

I said the Western thinking of bargaining, which we have in our DNA, is totally on a different perspective than what the concept of Westerners' bargaining power in india.the auto driver might be looking to pay fees of his kid, or a small charges of amusement tickets for his kids or a restuarant treat for his kids so he taken a surge of power over affordability. I am an Indian but living in the USA and traveling across the world, and after living away from India so long, the matter of economic needs is different.

@Madly Rover - they said the govt rate is Rs 35 per KM. For 5 KM that’s Rs 175. The guy offered you Rs 250. The difference is less than 1 euro.
