- Foreigner explores the "real" India in Bengaluru on MG Road. After videos on the wild Indian streets it was time for a walk around a modern area in the city of Bangalore. I've never really enjoyed this kind of traveling and generally avoid it so I try to explain the kind of exploration that I do enjoy. That is to experience parts of a country where life is mostly unfamiliar to me. Modern outgoing areas and shopping streets are pretty much the same everywhere around the world where it feels like you've never left home at all. A bit tongue in cheek and it's hard to put into words but I've experienced time and time again during my travels that the most interesting people and experiences are found in places where you'd least expect it and life still flows at a slower pace.
Thanks again for the kind words since last week 🙏 but please no more apologies, we move forward and welcome to all who joined as we grow past 80k. YOU ALL SET IT ON FIRE! In this video with a bit of playfulness it try to put into words what kind of travel drives me and that's not modern Western looking places. I want to experience that which is unfamiliar and I really don't know any better then to walk/ride into places when it interests me even if sometimes these are places that some of you wouldn't recommend or don't like to see. Over the years I've had some of the best experiences in those kind of places and the good people and kindness that come your way there most of the time doesn't really surprise me anymore. The same thing in India so far, a lot more good than bad and if you've watched a few videos you've probably noticed by now that it's mainly the people we've met that make the video. The world is only getting smaller so I'd like to keep exploring the to me unfamiliar and at time wild side while it's still possible.

It's not fault of indians that we don't want the natural rawness anymore But wish for develop into same materialistic modern developed society as developed countries are today coz there's a limit to taking in insults by outsiders for ur financial & lookwise poor condition that is result of what exploitation done by those same outsiders too in past, We are working hard to remove that shameful category & racist tags they put us in for our Nation's condition and keep ridiculing us, we don't want that & thus working hard to change into such greedy, selfish, self-centered, show-off, wasted, materialistic, individualist developed nations societies for better or worse, But one thing for sure We trying to keep the indian touch & spirit of india alive along to that Unlike China or US where culture & traditions, diversity in languages,etc got crushed first before high end modern development. Also, pedro may found it gud & unique coz it's different rare to him but it's all pain struggles for the locals who have to live such life in such condition daily, We too wish to enjoy life, leave in relaxed clean place like they do in their place back home, so we can have privilege to be bored of the luxury, the ease enough to go on fulfill not our needs or wants but luxury passion & wishes like travelling around globe to see other humbled ppl struggling living the way we used to do decades back And feel gud when they treat us with their self-humility & we can find items in their places dirt-cheap as the place itself they live in.

However, the reason why many Indians often emphasize showcasing the modern side of India is because in the West, there's a prevailing stereotype that India is solely defined by its slums, often perpetuated by movies like "Slumdog Millionaire." This can be quite frustrating for Indians because when they visit Western countries and mention their Indian origin, they often encounter assumptions that they must be from the slums, which doesn't represent the diverse reality of India.
Why do you guys stress about uninformed people..this is an African talking here and what western country people think is the least of my worries coz they're peasants coz what they think is usually so far from what actually is so who cares at this point...

I almost didn't upload this video because I don't think I managed to put into words 100% what I wanted to say while recording. Also tongue in cheek can easily be misinterpreted and from my perspective alone I can't judge how hard I'm putting it on. But I mean no offense and the main message is positive, and it's exactly that what you say 🙏. What a way to reply. Loved it. India has many many sides to it like most places in the world. You should definitely explore rural India too for the authentic experience of culture and history. Also interesting is that its different and changes every 50-100 kms. Happy exploring my beautiful Karnataka, my beautiful India.

Quite clearly these trains represent the PR managed imagery of modernity; which is away from the reality of general class train bogies.

I felt what you mean. Many Indians consider these small streets in major cities with modern brand shops and buildings as development. But they don’t realise what they leave behind in the real India back in their villages, the cows, dogs, cats , humans living together, the temple meals, the local chai stalls, the spice markets, green fields, the dhabas, the plastic less life, the “addas” where people gather just to talk, etc etc
That is the real India. The precious one.

The fundamental truth about india is that it is a very divided country.
India often boasts the slogan 'unity in diversity' but this is not the case.
Villages discriminate against other villages, religion discriminates against other religions, different communities discriminate against other communities.
If you are a true citizen of india, then you know very well how it is in your home and the conversations you have about your people.
India can only grow if it is truly united, when indians have discarded the concepts of Brahmins, dalits, Hindus, Muslims, biharis, UP.
When someone from other state looks down on people from other state then how can india grow. People accept English instead of Hindi. Hindi is enforced but actually most of the states in India are non-Hindi speaking states.
Indians are proud of their culture. But denies the truth that for centuries indians have discriminated and stolen, cheated, blackmailed each other based on caste, creed and color. That's Indian history.
Indians don't respect fellow indians. Try to observe how when you shop. Observe while you are in traffic. Observe as you stand in line for a simple movie ticket. Do you find this experience peaceful. No, no. You are in anxiety. You are on high alert as most of the indians will cut in line to take your place. Is there respect shown to you as a human being?
That's the indian mentality. Intrude on other people's space and property. Indian mentality is barbaric and savage, which is impossible to change.😢

Hi @MadlyRover Yea its familiar and usual to you as a western but for our people its like something special ! that's why they recommended you so much.. but you really want to experience the authentic cultural roots visits villages in Karnataka like Dakshina Karnataka , mandya, westren ghats much more .. bengluru is modern city which is familiar and usual for you..
I understand and I'm happy for the people and they can absolutely be proud because India is only going to go up. All that it is is that we're coming at it from different angles. Thanks for the suggestions, I hope to get more out there in the north and probably Rajasthan because I love the desert.

Hey Pedro, goto to magnificent place, Sringeri sharadamba temple, which is in place called Sringeri. You need to take bus from Bangalore (6-7 hours Journey), if you start journey at night bus, you will reach morning. You can visit whole day, so many spots to see in that place, same-day or next day you can return back to Bangalore.

I'm an indian brought up in the well privileged city life of delhi and I felt every word that came from your mouth in this video, I've been trying to go to the countryside/villages where my roots belong every time i get and the brands and modernised versions of places have become dull for me as well.
