Thanks it’s a perfect match for this radio. Just don’t expect a solid 50.W on every single band. The lower frequency bands require less power input.. the highest power I have seen is 57w but for the money, you can’t grumble and it works super and is virtually automatic
I looked at the manual and I do not see any Band Pass Filters for that amp. If no BPF's, that means it does not meet specs to be used on the ham bands. Barry
Hi. Great video! How did you connect the cables ? Radio -> Amplifier -> ATU -> ANTENNA? how much power are you tuning the antenna with? do you have to switch off the amplifier at this point or can the tuner handle the power? 73!
Great question the tuna can handle the amplifier. The aerial coax goes into the tuner and a patch lead goes to the amplifier. A patch lead goes from the amplifier to the radio
Thanks man, I’ve just worked America I’m sitting in that location now
Thanks Chris , always useful videos , some guy is selling the PA50+ for £100 delivered , so may give that a go, all the best mate .. M7PJD
Hi Patrick thanks for the comment. I saw that advert if it is Mike Lewis he is a very reputable seller
Just bought it mate , thanks Chris . M7PJD
Love this radio, nice powerful setup! 73!
Thanks mate, it was nice to use the 705 mobile my 7100 is in for repair so I was looking for a replacement temporarily
Amazing greets from Swiss
Thank you very much!
If the IC705 had 100w, I would buy one tomorrow, it would be perfect along side my ICOM IC-9700.
Yes I get that, but you can get a cheap amp that will do 50-100w. Thank you for the comment.
Fantastic setup. I've been thinking about the 705 as a unit that might be plugged in to an amp/atu on the bench or in the car mobile.

Thanks, I will look into it. I was advised it was a good combination.
Nice one Chris, I have a couple of those ATUs. Great value. Interested in the Micro PA50, I might have to look in getting one 73 👍
Thanks jason, yes and its very good I would recommend it. Only problem is it will prevent it self working when over 2
Nice Chris. Hopefully you’ll be able to use 100w if Ofcom proposals go ahead.
Yes, that will make a big difference to me. It will flatten my battery also ha ha

You have to play about with the power I think I had about two or three w from the radio
Do you have to switch the band manually on the amplifier?
No, it's all automatic, it senses the. R f transmission
Bonjour,
L'ampli est branché apres ATU ?
Merci

Yes it's running 45 Watt as shown in the thumbnail. Thanks for watching
what wires for keying the amp? buffer?
I have not got any wires, only patch lead and power, it is auto sensing the power from the radio
