Thank you so much! I couldn’t even figure out what brand of sink my mom had let alone how to fix the problem. This is exactly her issue and now I can fix it for her! Thank you!
Great video - I couldn't figure out why the handle on my faucet was loose and floppy, but then saw how you used a rod in the cartridge hole to keep it from spinning while tightening the top screw. Works perfect now!
@@anneg8319 I just replaced the plastic piece in my faucet today and had the same issue. I opened everything back up, and I made sure that the metal part that is seated around the cartridge needs to fall into place properly, and then screwed down with the Philips head screw driver. When that it placed correctly and screwed down snuggly, the wiggle in the handle went away.
Thank you for the informative video! I could not figure out how that plastic piece fit back in...since it was BROKEN when I took the handle apart! You showed how it snapped on!
Thanks you! The kitchen faucet handle just broke in our new house and my husband and I had no idea how to fix it. I was hoping to not buy the kit from Amazon, but it seems to be the only place it's available. It took me barely 10min thanks to your video!
My faucet has had the same problem for several months and the handle came off on Friday night. I have been frustrated with having to replace everything! But, your video saved the day and I have been able to remove the broken part, and hope to replace it at the plumbing store tomorrow. Thank you!!!
Sir Thank so very much! God bless you and your family. Your video saved me a lot of money to buy new faucet and on top of that to pay the plumber to install it for me. I am so grateful that you took the time to show it step by step. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. God bless you and your family! Amen! 🙏
You nailed it with this video. Quick and to the point. Well done. I was confluncted by spinning that top screw too and it not coming off until I saw where you discovered the flat wrench slotting to hold the stem. I didn't look at the instructions either after watching this. Parts cost $7. Got it in two days from Amz. I would add to the viewers that they make sure they screw that top screw all the way down and not stop when the loktite that's on the new screw tries to hold you up. Make sure they set the new screw to refusal (without stripping) or the valve handle will wobble when re-assembled. Thanks, dude!
Yeah, I kept trying to turn the screw with no avail. This helped so much, and proud to have been able to fix it. Now that I am aware of the fragile plastic piece< I gently turn it on and off the water. Now if I can just teach the family to do the same.
Thanks for sharing this! You saved me a ton of time! Also, if this helps anyone else I could not find the part on Amazon but Moen customer service was very helpful and send instructions on how to use while waiting on the part. Thanks again for posting this!
Moen was out of stock of this part for months now. Had spend $30 on Amazon. How Amazon has it and not the manufacturer is a little suspect. Moen wants you to buy a whole new faucet.
Moen customer service won’t answer phone. They say will call back and the appointment to call back is in one week. What a joke. We ordered the parts on Amazon. You mention instructions on how to use till parts arrive. Do you have them as we can’t use sink.
thanks.. great video, worked.. except.. I have to have the handle in the right place. and down, otherwise it will slow drip..what part do I need to screw down, the big screw? or did I do someting wrong?
Cap for Oil Rubbed Bronze is screw on: Unlike all other colors for this model, it is a screw on, not a snap on cap - might save you some frustration, ours had enough lime it was really difficult to tell at first.
Thank you! Our handle also stopped working but I have trouble removing the top cap. I tried to pry it open with a small flat screw driver but it didn't work. Did you just pull it out?
In my case the metal facade / sconce /cap covering the base wouldn't back off. seems it is seized to the underlying plastic threads and so counter clockwise rotation is not threading it off. Any suggestions on how to address that necessary step?
do you know the model number on this? I cannot find out how to take the handle off. I have removed the cap on the back but cannot seem to find what Allen wrench I need from there etc...
@@quentinharrison6345 no i believe the part # for cartridge filter is a moen 1255 though. You should be able to find some youtube videos with that info

Same here! I used the little allen hex that came with the kit.

Thanks. This helped see what the mechanism does. I’ll probably need to watch in another 12 years when it breaks again....thanks again

This video was so helpful. I just fixed my leaky faucet with the kid from Amazon and a broken plastic piece. Thanks much for posting this.
Kit is Moen 100429 single handle faucet adapter kit. Free from Amazon since shipping included with prime.
Thank you!!! 🙏🏼
This should be pinned at the top or mentioned in the description. 🙌🏼

THANK YOU!!!!!! Just fixed this morning. Saved my kitchen and me from a ton of headache!
Thank you so much. The instructions that came with are terrible. You have saved my Sunday.
My black collar broke...found the Moen kit for $6 and change...FIXED! THANKS!

Eureka! Your video did the trouble shooting for me. Now I just need the parts from Moen. They have sent me parts before and have my purchase on file.

Still fixing sinks in 2024. Thanks pal!
Moen guarantees for life. You can call them and get the parts needed for free, don't pay Amazon. Just finished mine.
Thanks so much! I fixed my sink for 5 bucks 😊
Thanks so much on these details. Help me lots of time.

Thank you so very much!!! You are ABSOLUTELY correct. Cap SCREWS ON . Moen needs to add this to their website. Thanks again.
@@miaejohnson3823 agreed! Took me like 2 hours to find this...
Would this also be the reason that the faucet is dripping? The handle is a bit wobbly but moreso the faucet drips.

If it is the Aberdeen Bronze if may screw (twist) off like S.L. has mentioned.

Do you know the model number of the faucet? I need to replace the aerator in mine
Can you please have the video for the spout if you have where water comes out, mine is broken from where you move right left, appreciate it!
Followed step by step, thank you!
Thanks this helped me alot👍
Is there a specific kit to purchase?
What is the name of that particular faucet or model, thanks.
Thank you sr. I fix it !
My handle is not lose how do I take it off do I just pull on it ? Thank you
It worked. Thanks!
Why that's not made of brass I'll never know . Thanks for the video
Your video was a lot better than moans instructions. And helped immensely. Thanks

Like literally...$6 vs having to replace the whole faucet...
What was the repair packet you found on Amazon? I’ve the same faucet handle with the same issue and roughly 12.5 years of ownership.
I used a Moen 100429 Single Handle Faucet adapter kit.
Lantern Gaming found it. Installed it and it worked perfectly. Thanks so much for sharing.
Can someone post the link to amazon spare part? Not able to search for right part name
we have the same faucet tap with the same problem.i tried your method but handle adapter not came out after removed slim screw.
Are you able to give the model number ? I have same faucet and same issue also I have issue with the shower head and I can’t fine the part
I used a Moen 100429 Single Handle Faucet adapter kit.
If the handle operates stiffly., leaks or the plastic piece breaks then it's time to rebuild the cartridge.
My handle is loose but still works. How do you remove the handle without having to brake it?
Unscrew the little hex screw until the handle pops off.
Having a hard time taking the top off the handle I have the bronze finish type faucet, can someone help?
Top unscrews instead of popping off.
Thanks!!!!
W video
I can’t get the cap off to even do step 1- I have same tap but brass
Brass cap unscrews rather than pops off
2nd video that fails to show the proper removal of the handle. On to the Next video. wow
Moen will send parts for free. Just got same parts for free
hi there, our faucet is the same , but the leak is at the pull down sprayer top base, do you know how to look for this problem?
thanks , I had the gray piece 180' wrong way, perfect illustration. All good now, my wife thanks you & so do I.
