At 3:08 wouldn't you want to cut the boards to be about 46 1/2 inches long and not 22 1/2 inches? That part confused me a little but great video otherwise
Oh crap! You're right! I think I got confused with the length of the plexiglass. Good call! 8 hours of editing and I still made a little mistake, woops 😬
Thank you for watching! And I'm really glad this was helpful. Be sure to check the pinned comment because while editing I did made a small mistake. But just to make sire you won't actually make that mistake while making an enclosure
Using the tracks for the plexiglass door is such a good idea. I was going to just put plexi glass inbetween two pieces of wood at the top and bottom so it can slide inbetween but the tracks will save material and effort thank you!
Will it hold too much heat if I don’t put vents since my tank is going to have inside heating bulbs ? Because I really don’t want to put vents on my snakes tank if I don’t have to, but I don’t want him to get too hot if I don’t
@@jpslizards I know I need to buy a 8'x4' 3/4" board. Could you just simply give me the dimensions needed to cut it down so I will have all the pieces to assemble it. Sorry for being so confusing lol.
I was the one that got confused bro, sorry. You were being literal lol I'm going to watch the video again because I was sure I added the measurements of the pieces. If not I will measure my set up to be exact and will get back to you later
Thank you bro. This video was not easy to make at all. At first it didn't really get much views but it's doing a lot better now. I'm glad a few people have found this video helpful 😁
Definitely, but it would have to go inside. Exact how? That I wouldn't really know because I don't use them. You would need to make sure the mat is below something that can let the heat go thru, like glass
I used liquid nail to seal the inside corners… it’s been drying for 48 hours, some research tells me “liquid nails” is chemically inert once dried, is it still safe to put my reptile in with the corners having the liquid nail on inside corners?
I used it along the inside four corner of the back the tops and sides, as my build had quite a few gaps along the inside where the boards met (uneven cuts) There is a generous amount of this liquid nails now, I accidentally used it in replace of the silicone, will any residue or chemicals soak into the bedding and cause issues with my Boas skin? (I’m not worried about it being peeled of or eaten)
Oh ok, I thought it was a lizard set up. As far as I know, no, it will be completely dry after a couple of days. I would still cut the extra stuff though. You can never be too careful. You can also waterproof the set up with drylock
Yeah you missed the picture lol but no worries, I found it for you. I used tracks, which you can get from Amazon. In minute 2:23 you can see a picture of the one I got
It would be ok for both. More for leopard geckos but yes, it can also be used for a crested gecko, you would just have to waterproof it. This would be a mansion for either one of them lol
My 9' boa loves to move about a 4'×2'×2' enclosure be to small for her needs. I am thinking 60" tall 28" wide × 42" across.....to accommodate her need to climb

Very helpful video. All the other videos on the subject on RUclips weren’t as informative. Thanks again!

Thank you, this was perfect straightforward, nothing fancy, and it is functional!
I'm glad you found it helpful 😁
How did you hang the heat lamps? I love the idea for the uvb light! Totally brilliant!
Thank you so much for this video!
I use a lamp stand, this way I can move it however I want and also put the basking spot where ever I want. And no problem! ☺
I am a couple of weeks from having my reptile room finished. I'll be building my critters some of these so they can finally have the space they need.
That's what I did when I knew the extra room was going to be my reptile room haha good luck with the enclosures!
Dang came across this glad I inspired you

No problem! I actually didn't use the tracks until after I made my first 3 enclosures lol
The tracks work a lot better for sure.
@@jpslizards what did you use to secure the track to your wood??
Just silicone. Used clamps to hold them for 24 hours
@@jpslizards thank you!!
No problem 😊
This helps a lot I’m gonna build my bearded dragon one soon. Thanks for the shoutout! Great video!
No problem. I'm glad this is helpful 😃
Good luck
Any problems with moisture?
Nope, not at all. These set ups are big and have good ventilation.
Thanks this definitely helped and I will make one
That's really good. You're welcome

Naw, since it's a big set up it has plenty of ventilation. It would probably only be bad if you want to add 2 basking areas
On future set up that I make for my lizards I won't be adding vents anymore
Thank you for this video. Could you possibly just give me a cut list? I have adhd very bad and this video confused me... not your fault. Thanks bro
No problem bro. Just to make sure, what do you mean a cut list?

@@joshuaburns7427 at 2:46 I show the measurements bro 😁
Nice JP!
Thank you!
How did you run the electrical cords out of the enclosure? I don’t think you showed that part.
On the vent that is on the right side I cut one corner and ran the cords from there. In minute 6:36 you can see it. Sorry if I forgot to mention that!
That too! I just didn't want to do that because there was going to be another set up on top
Excellent video. We'll thought out and very useful.

@@jpslizards how toes are always a great thing because people will always need youtube for DIY projects.
True! Once I make an enclosure that I have in mind I will record it as well
@@jpslizards Yes that will give you big views.
Could you use belly heating for snakes on this enclosure? And if so, how?
Definitely, but it would have to go inside.
Exact how? That I wouldn't really know because I don't use them. You would need to make sure the mat is below something that can let the heat go thru, like glass
Would it be ok to stain the wood or treat it somehow?
I know other have done it but I haven't. I wouldn't know what to suggest to be honest. I have only used drylok before
I used liquid nail to seal the inside corners… it’s been drying for 48 hours, some research tells me “liquid nails” is chemically inert once dried, is it still safe to put my reptile in with the corners having the liquid nail on inside corners?
I would cut what dried on the outside.
Normally you want to clean what comes out after nailing it together
I used it along the inside four corner of the back the tops and sides, as my build had quite a few gaps along the inside where the boards met (uneven cuts)

sorry im kinda dum and dont understand the measurements of the wood how thick was it in mm
I think it's 19mm
What thinkness plexiglass did you use?
I'm pretty sure 1/4 of an inch
How did you make the doors slide? And where did you get whatever you used? I think I missed a step lol
Yeah you missed the picture lol but no worries, I found it for you. I used tracks, which you can get from Amazon. In minute 2:23 you can see a picture of the one I got
Would these be ok to stack?
Oh yeah, I have 2 stacked.
Love this good work!
Thank you! 😁
Would this be okay. For

Might as well go bigger in my opinion. Basically a small room lol that would be so awesome
@@jpslizards I want to build it to look like furniture. Her current enclosure is 24W×48Lx38H
Great video but you are using your driver and drill the wrong way round the impact driver is for screwing and the drill is better for drilling
That's the way I was using them at first but the impact was making it easier to drill as well lol
But thank you!
If i got a dollar for every time you say "you know" in this vid id be a trillion air 🤣 (not hating)
Oh that's nothing, you should hear me in the videos where I talk a lot more haha 😂
So is the silicone needed or can you just sue screws?
You can only use screws if you want. Silicone is just to make it hold a little better and to cover the edges
@@jpslizards thank you
Unless you plan to try to make it waterproof. Then it's a must
@@jpslizards no its for a thai bamboo rat snake so just high humidity low temp
If it needs high humidity then I suggest to water proof it. Unless you make the enclosure from pvc
Don't sell yourself sort dude own that shit you killed it
Thank you! And to think that it was just to save a few bucks lol
What wood is the plywood made from?
I'm pretty sure it was maple. They also had cedar and oak if I remember correctly
Dope but I don’t feel like u gave enough info. Very cage tho.
Sorry, I'm just not sure what more info I could have given
@3:20 board looks uneven
Yeap, I need to by a better saw. Or get a table saw
You know
