- The Turkish-Dutch band @AltnGunband play ‘Maçka Yolları’ from the album ‘Yol’ in the Eye Filmmuseum in Amsterdam.
Line up:
Erdinç Ecevit (keys, bağlama, voice)
Merve Dasdemir (voice/keys)
Jasper Verhulst (bass)
Gino Groeneveld (percussion)
Daniel Smienk (Drums)
Denzel Sprenkeling (guitar)
In the past period, the members of the Turkish-Dutch band Altin Gün wrote a new album together: ‘Yol'. They did this at an appropriate distance via wetransfer.
Bassist Jasper Verhulst started the band Altin Gün in 2016. He was fascinated by Turkish psychedelic folk rock. Among other things, he listened to records by singer Selda Bağcan. This and the Turkish musical culture had such profound impact on him that he felt compelled to start a band of his own which incorporated all the finer elements of rare Turkish music.
In a short time, Altin Gün achieved international success. Their second record ""Gece"" was nominated for a Grammy Award in the category ""Best World Music"" and they were invited to major festivals such as Coachella in America and Fuji Rock in Japan.
The Omnichord, a small synthesizer, plays an important role on the new album. Singer Merve Dasdemir plays the instrument with his harp-like and kitschy timbre.

Best ever!
Very great musician hollanda ❤️ love from Indonesia
The singer and song is Turkish actually.
This is such an underrated band. Will see them in concert when covid is over.
They aren’t underrated! Everybody really loves them!
@@SpringoStarr No I don't. I prefer the real ashiks playing acoustic baglama. This electric stuff sounds poorly but it will be for the youth I guess.
@@HarpsichordVinylGallery well, that’s matter of choice and taste. Altin Gün is already quite popular and well known among people who keep ears open.
underrated by whom?
@@HarpsichordVinylGallery nice channel, your Gallery! :)
What about that groove?! Magnificent combination. All the best from Argentina!
Ojalá vengan algún día 😭❤️
Müzik şöleni ❤

Çok tatlı çok.
Erdinç abi konuşturuyor yine Elektro Bağlamayı. :)
Leuke sound. Lekker bezig. Keep it 💯
what happened to their former guitarrist, ben rider of i‘m not mistaken ?
He left.
I love you
Goede muziekelijkheid.
Instrumentale versie ergens?
Electric saz (baglama) is poorly compared to the acoustics of an acoustic baglama :-(
@@user-nf7cr6wn6o We call those tones the natural overtones which of course you can filter away with echo and other artificial electronic stuff to make the sound less interesting.
@@user-nf7cr6wn6o First of all I am not conservative. I like all plucked instruments because of the different sounds made by the tension of the strings, the shape of the body, the material used, the art of playing. the traditional tunes and the cross-over music in completely different genres. However to put an electrical element and filters on such a noble instrument as the baglama to be part of the pop-scene. OK but not for someone like me who loves the sound of this original instrument.
@@user-nf7cr6wn6o of course it is not my löss but my appreciation for the natural tones. If you are happy with artificial distortion we are both happy.
