it was quite disturbing, and frankly depressing, to behold how it even was up for discussion whether trump is suitable to be on the ballot or not.
And the ruling on that, by USA's so-called Supreme Court, is downright abominable.
As is trump himself, btw.
And now we are seeing what is if not even more downright crazy: that the question of whether a president is to have immunity or not, actually is up for discussion.

You can only judge the questions and the attitudes of the justice and not how they ruled because they have not ruled yet. The collective take by legal experts here is the the Supreme Court will send the case back to the lower court and ask the lower court to develop the record further so that the Justices can then rule which of Trump's "acts" were official acts or private acts (as a candidate). In short it is likely that the Justices acting with favor towards Trump will be aiding him only by continuing to delay any trial. Trump will not win the presidency in November and justice will eventually come for him unless he by chance dies before he is convicted for Jan 6. It's very likely he will be found guilty in NY in his current case.

michael cohen's saying "i went to jail for doing this for trump" has to be enough to convict trump.
If you read his case he went to jail on charges involving his own personal finances unrelated to Trump and it's quite possible his sentencing deal included an admission of wrongdoing.
They mention the hush money negotiations in the indictment but like here, they aren't illegal. Maybe eyebrow-raising given the subject matter, but not illegal.
As far as promoting/preventing election the ndas weren't covering up anything that would affect the country's national security or the like, they were concealing affairs which, based on prior situations left unprosecuted isn't uncommon nor against the law. To say keeping this from voters was illegal is intrusive and a stretch.

There is actually a proposed amendment to the US Constitution which has yet to be ratified and is still open for such. It's called the Titles of Nobility Amendment. It reads: If any citizen of the United States shall accept, claim, receive or retain, any title of nobility or honour, or shall, without the consent of Congress, accept and retain any present, pension, office or emolument of any kind whatever, from any emperor, king, prince or foreign power, such person shall cease to be a citizen of the United States, and shall be incapable of holding any office of trust or profit under them, or either of them.
Let's get that ratified. Since SCOTUS is on it's way to making a president a king, it might be nice to get out in front of that.

my theory on the "will he testify" question is thus: NOTHING gets a reactionary response out of trump quite like damaging his ego...i think if his ego is sufficiently attacked by the prosecutorial witnesses, he absolutely will chose to testify in order to "rebut" those attacks, and since he is such a horrible witness and compulsive liar, AND not nearly as charming and charismatic as he believes himself to be, his testimony will absolutely BURY himself.
