It's actually better written than squid game. Really make us think about current society and capitalism. If we are born into a certain strata of society, we will never be able to rise to another class that is not ours to begin with, and how we feed the capitalists and oligarchs and in the end all of us are playing the game and it only ends when we die.
Later episodes even delve into, very subtly, different forms of government, from democracy, monarchy, socialism, dictatorship, slavery, outright rebellion etc.
Ooh that's so interesting! Never realized that the different forms of government were reflected through the state of the contestants... very excited to see more!

Agree that they're both great. I think I just appreciate more the social commentary of this show at this moment, while Squid Game is a show more focused on character growth and development

Apparently the average hourly pay in Canada is $30 dollars, minimum wage in our province is $14, which translates to 30,000 won and 14,000 won. So our protagonist was making the average Canadian hourly pay every minute… crazy to think about 😂
I really enjoyed it. I bingewatched it in 2 days. I gi ve it 4 out of 5 stars. I found #4 to be the most irritating character. I had the least amount of sympathy for her because she flip-flopped so many times.
It was very enjoyable indeed! I think my least favourite character might have been #4 as well, but a close runner up would be #5, only because while the #4 flipflopping was very flagrant and obvious, #5's indecision and "compassion" made a lot of situations worse.

The art style is a bit similar, but it feels like the antithesis to Squid Game... nothing is fair, like society
