I take all my cards from people all thru the year, collect them in a large envelope and cut the fronts off , no writing on them and send them to St. Judes Childrens Hospital, they can remake cards or other items and they resell them for spending money. I will keep the ones that are written on from now on and the sentiments, thanks for the ideas. My dau in law wanted me to make her Mothers Day card, this year, and she loved it.
I have years of saved cards. You have given me the inspiration to go create with them. Thank you. I would love to see more. And by the way although we can hear your family, it is real life and I can still hear you very clearly. It does not distract me at all.
I love watching your videos. I had lost my inspirations and was ready to stop but after watching your first show I can’t stop making cards. Thank you. Please keep them up and don’t worry about your family...that is life.
I don't usually watch a video for so long but I thoroughly enjoyed this. I love to recycle old cards and you have given me so many ideas. Yes, yes, do please do more of this. Thank you.
ah thank you! Glad you enjoy! I also try not to do videos this long but once I got started I couldn't stop lol And I really wanted to share with you how easy it was
I honestly would be happy to watch another hour long video on recycling cards. I hate throwing them out and so I hoard them to make later, which I never get the time to do. Keep it up!
You are the only person I have seen who uses the interior of envelopes for backgrounds! I came up with the idea years ago. Great recycling. I vote for more videos of using things from daily life to make classy cards.
I use the interior of envelopes for backgrounds too! I make Badge A Minit pins and magnets and will use all kinds of things for backgrounds. If I have a sticker or photo that is smaller than the 2-1/4" circles, I can use just about anything for backgrounds, wrapping paper, the interior of envelopes, and one of my favorite backgrounds is to find a photo in magazines of someone in a blingy gown of gold lamé, or sequins, crystals, etc. and cut a circle out of that and use it for the background. The sky is the limit! Or...there's NO limit!
I love to make hand made cards. Great ideas. The background noises are not bothering me, it makes homemade more real. This is inspiration to get back to my card making.
I have kept Christmas cards to, thinking I love them and don't want to throw them away. I knew there must be a way to use them but never had sat down and figured out how to do it! Love your idea!!!!!! Thanks for giving me the next step on what to do with them!!! I'm off and running now with your ideal!!!! Thanks a million!!!!!!!!
I have saved so many cards over the years. Now I have to find them to see what I can use. Thanks for the ideas! Also, I add the ink to the edges, have been doing it for years. Love the look. I also punch the rounded corners. It softens the corners and gives the card a more professional look. Merry Christmas and blessings to you and yours! 😍
I have a hard time getting rid of cards. I have a ton of Xmas, bday, valentine, etc. cards. I knew I kept them for a reason, so the reason is what you are doing with yours. Recycle, and give. Thanks for all the tips.
What a good way to recycle...so beautifully. I love the sound of the screen door opening, the dog barking, etc...There is life all around you! Merci beaucoup d'avoir partager ton talent avec nous!
I have watched all of your Christmas card recycling videos and am beginning to watch them a second time. I love your videos! Yes, I am making mine while watching yours!!
Now I must make some cards in January - you have inspired me. Children can’t be expected to sit still or to be quiet. What upset me one time was a very young child left alone upstairs and mother made out she was being silly and left her to cry. Didn’t watch her videos again as it was upsetting to me. Thank you for sharing in spite of the obstacles.
Mine are much older so they don't have an excuse lol :) They seem to be louder as soon as I start to film! Hope that you do start in January it helps to make sure that you have enough . TFW
You are so quick! Love the ideas plus reusing the beautiful Christmas cards. I hate for them to go to waste because they are so pretty. Thanks so much!
Feel blessed for the children you have. Be happy they talk and jump around, it means the are healthy. I lost my child in an accident and wish I could hear him talking and running around. Just saying. Anyways I love your beautiful Christmas cards! Please do more of them for us. ❤
Oh my goodness, this was amazing!!!! I hope you have another video like this. Thanks so much for sharing your great eye for design. Loved all the cards, tips and tricks.
There's not that many tools that you really need. A paper cutter I would say is really the number 1 tool that I wouldn't be able to live without. The glue gun is a nice to have but you can use a glue stick just as well :) That's what I started with! That or you can get the scotch double sided tape. TFW And sure hope you give it a try!
That was truly inspiring! I save old cards for their pictures & have lots of stamps & neat papers to do this but never knew where to start to have them look sooo professional I would feel comfortable sending to someone! The cards made cute gift tags for kids to make but I don't do Sunday school anymore but they can have a New Life again! TY!
Very inspiring -- love that these are fast and easy to make, but the end results are not only beautiful, they're one of a kind! Going to make some now! TFS
Thanks I love your ideas. I have stacks of cards to work up. I have my husband save all his cards from the office for me. They are treasures to me. Also, you don't need to be sorry for your family and dog, thats just life!
This is inspiring for me. I have tons of Thanksgiving and Christmas cards left over after last year. I was making cards for the Caring Hearts Card Drive. I totally gave out and was totally burned out. I have so much card makings left, I can just use that. I don't have to buy anything new, except maybe glue and tape. THANK YOU for getting me moving.
Yeah that is something that you have to be careful about is burning yourself out because at that point you no longer have fun and might not do more... this is why at one point in the series I started alternating between Christmas cards and some using your scraps. Gave me options! TFW
It is Jan. 6, 2020 and I just came across this video. I wonder, if at the time you made it, you thought that it would be inspiring people years later. Thank you for sharing your great ideas!
I enjoyed watching your video very much! You are very creative & this inspired me to do the same! Please don't ever feel like you need to apologize for the sounds your family makes. Small children will be grown & gone before you can turn around-that is their home & that was just the sounds of life-most of us have been there! Again, I enjoyed watching this & will look forward to seeing other videos that you make! Happy crafting!!❤️👏👍😊
I have been hoarding Christmas cards for years wanting to do this, thanks for the inspiration to get them done. I love the recycled aspect as some of them are just too beautiful to thrash.
Absolutely Love watching this video! Would love to see more Christmas cards done Thanks in advance! Don't worry about the daily life happening in the background as they are not a distraction! Have a great day:)
Thank you for tutorial i have thrown so many beautiful cards out in the past before i came to the craft world you have truly opened my eyes i won't be throwing any away from now on can't wait to get into this years card creations and i to have made a pledge i will be starting in january making my Christmas cards all through the year thank you once again and all the best for 2020
What a great way to recycle!😁 it would be also a great way to introduce kids to recycling and learning how to make cards to give to their family and friends. I bet their imagination could conjure up some cute cards👍🏻🤔😁
OMG... I have wanted to do this for so long. In fact, I have saved Christmas cards for a couple years now. Thank you so much. I love all the tools you have.

You are amazing! So many card ideas so now l better get to work! Oh! As for your squeaky door just put a couple of drops of cooking oil on the hinge. Works like a charm!! Love your ideas. Love the family sounds lol
This is such a great idea... I took some of the cards from last year and made some new ones... sometimes they are even prettier than some I spend hours on making
It's true that it's sad to throw them away. Thought of it while looking at the cards that we had at work and that well were going to go to the recycling bin otherwise! I was happy to give them a new life! :) TFW
Enjoyed your video, I'm a reuser and it's always nice to find creative ideas for holiday "waste". i don't use a lot of stamps but like that you don't always need to run out and buy a bunch of stuff for a project. Great idea for a friends or kids craft night. These would make gifts also.
I did homemade cards two years in a row to close relatives. I never heard anything back. So know this year I want to send cards to veterans or nursing homes. Great video. I need to beg for peoples old Xmas cards now!
