I'm walking out and feeling fine Laying my job on the line The time has come for me to be gone Change the words to my song I'm gonna do it my way I'm gonna leave it all behind 'Cos every day is a new day I'm getting tired of running Tired of running blind I've had my fill for the last two years The time is right for a change Ain't gonna shed no more crocodile tears I'm getting on the next train To nowhere... I'm gonna do it my way I'm gonna leave it all behind 'Cos every day is a new day I'm getting tired of running Tired of running blind Don't try to call me back I'm just not listening You've no longer got a hold on me, no I won't forget you, but just remember There may be more fish in the sea I'm walking out and feeling fine Laying my job on the line The time has come for me to be gone Change the words to my song I'm gonna do it my way I'm gonna leave it all behind 'Cos every day is a new day I'm getting tired of running Tired of running blind
Proof you don't need to be master musicians or the greatest production. You just need to be good song writers and paint a picture in the listener's heads
Martin Carrillo Again, welcome mate. I use to live in a community where no one knew old school bands. Shame because there are so many great ones. Anyhow keep it heavy my friend and blare some NWOHBM or anything else.
Been depressed lately, 67, thinking about life. This came on You Tube by itself, I stopped right in my tracks, felt something magical, picked up my guitar and went into that beautiful lead part. Made me remember what I loved about classic metal all my life( not this noise today) The best years EVER /NWOBHM . Fantastic time period and fantastic obscure 45’s like ours also. I was in THE BEAST! ‘Power Metal ep. I was always balls out but am a romantic at heart. Love this fucking song⚡️❤. Check out our ‘Born To Metalize tracks and our new 20 song cd/ DVD The BEAST ! I do love Stoner though. Fourth generation Sabbath style is back, Jack!! Wolfstooth ⭐️OMG!! The first one from 2018. Thousands more!! Stoner is Metal with out the stupid leads!! It’s feeling not Speed!
As I'm not an English native I'm always mishearing lyrics to be "ain't gonna shoot no more crocodiles here", it made me laugh when I read correct lyrics :)
This was in a cd that had a mix of NWOBHV , in a metal magazine i bought when i was 17 years old. So glad i bought that magazine the cd had many great uderated gems like this , we stand to fight and many others...🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I grew up in the same town as these guys (Lichfield, Staffs). They always put a great show on...any band who could get away with a metal version of Rudolf The Red Nose Reindeer in the middle of the summer is fine by me!! Drummer Rob can often be spotted cleaning windows around the city centre! Any of you NWOBHM experts remember Big Daisy, they came from LIchfield too.
holy shit i first discovered this song 2 years ago and have gone through my days just bangin...today i listened to the lyrics all the way and find they are actually quite relevant to my life so just to affirm what i had said two years ago...shit this is fuckin amazing
I dimly remember being at college in Lancaster with their bassist Ian Threlfall, who I think was known as Truff or somesuch. None of us could understand why Bashfull Alley were called Bashfull Alley and I remember a music journalist on (I think) Sounds expressing the same sentiment. Could they have made it bigger with a different name? Who knows. But I'm glad they're still playing their material. Good luck to 'em.
Really great song: Do you know that 2006 there was a release called "It`s About Time" from Bashful Alley. That`s an compilation of all (?) their songs. And this CD is still available. Just if you didn`t know it.
Rob Baxter is playing with Greg from Early Daze and John from Virgil Splint funnily enuff! Never heard of Dead Men Painted but I'm familiar with the rest. Did you find your way here from the new Facebook group for the 70s & 80s Lichfield scene by any chance?
I think too many ppl are in shock. They can't believe it's real. They think, "It's too perfect." However, I predict you guys will be as big as Metallica some day. But Metallica and Queensrÿche took over 10 yrs each to get recognized properly.
Chris is Rob 'Millwall' Baxter still drumming I wonder?, what about Virgil Splint, Early Daze, Spring Auction Torture, Dead Men Painted, R.P.M and the Victorian Parents...ring any bells ?
Ever heard of an NWOBHM-era band called Mother's Ruin? I heard their self-titled LP, but I know nothing else about them. I think they're an English band, but I'm not sure.
Loving this track. Those were the days.
I'm walking out and feeling fine
Laying my job on the line
The time has come for me to be gone
Change the words to my song
I'm gonna do it my way
I'm gonna leave it all behind
'Cos every day is a new day
I'm getting tired of running
Tired of running blind
I've had my fill for the last two years
The time is right for a change
Ain't gonna shed no more crocodile tears
I'm getting on the next train
To nowhere...
I'm gonna do it my way
I'm gonna leave it all behind
'Cos every day is a new day
I'm getting tired of running
Tired of running blind
Don't try to call me back
I'm just not listening
You've no longer got a hold on me, no
I won't forget you, but just remember
There may be more fish in the sea
I'm walking out and feeling fine
Laying my job on the line
The time has come for me to be gone
Change the words to my song
I'm gonna do it my way
I'm gonna leave it all behind
'Cos every day is a new day
I'm getting tired of running
Tired of running blind
Love it. Takes me back to a better and worse time.
Ilija Mihajlovic thanks a lot!!

What a magical song with killer riffs. Absolute GEM
Proof you don't need to be master musicians or the greatest production. You just need to be good song writers and paint a picture in the listener's heads

sure will brother! I have the same story so I feel were your coming from!
Beautiful song... melody and lyrics... rough sound as I like... and reflects the way I feel these days. Guess I've just found a "new" anthem :)
Daniel Farje I hear you bro old school ftw!
Now this is a total road trip tune! Definitely one of the coolest hidden gems of the NWOBHM!
Great single, was lucky enough to pick-up a copy in my local record store soon after it was released.

I hope you’re doing better
This song is a real gem of the new wave of British heavy metal. I wish this band put out more music back in the day. Same with Aragorn
As I'm not an English native I'm always mishearing lyrics to be "ain't gonna shoot no more crocodiles here", it made me laugh when I read correct lyrics :)

Bashful Alley is actually the name of a street in Lancaster, where they formed.
Máster piece. .
My Uncle Is Rob!
