BotW Black Spine #2 is one of my favorite eps thanks to him. Also love the drunken Kubrick stare he gave in a subsequent episode (the camera was at a low angle, so it's both sinister and hilarious).
Porn in the woods is such a particular nugget of the past which I can't describe to today's youth without sounding like I'm talking about drop bears or bigfoot. But this was a real thing, I promise you!

Loved it, but I also watched it growing up in the 80s. I imagine trying to watch it for the first time these days it might be hard to watch for many; probably really hard for anyone that grew up after the 80s.
I'm always happy to see Josh in these episodes, but having never seen Tim outside of Best of the Worst, this was fun to watch. I like seeing him in a different light. Seeing him talk about a film he loves and is well acquainted with really shows why he's a regular on RLM. Hope to see more of him on here in the future.

I miss those old 80s / early 90s sci-fi action or sci-fi fantasy films where pivotal story devices & elements were never questioned, we simply accepted things like "guy plays video-games used as alien fleet recruiting tools", "boy's imagination gets so engrossed in a book that it becomes reality and he flies on a luck-dragon", "same boy is actually a government-created robot set for disassembly", and so on.
Watched this so many times as a kid. My dad was a part owner of a gas station convenience store in the 80s, and like so many of the day there were vhs rentals in one corner. We got free rentals and this one was on regular rotation.
So many places had rentals in a corner lol. We had a grocery store that sold hiking gear, guns, sears dillards, macy’s clothing, of course movie rentals, somehow also made trophies for kids baseball, basketball lol. Place had like a pawn shop section with used guns too. I think the owner was in the mob. Dude had his hand into all kinds of gear. The 80’s were so wonderful.
@RxYouth well tbf if they were watching the movie then it wasn't available for rent, assuming they were watching during store hours so it did potentially cost money to loan them out if that follows. Plus they were extremely expensive and had a limited lifespan.
Robert Preston was a fabulous actor and singer that steals every scene he is in! My favorite scene was the last scene with the Khodan Commander saying "We die!" This is such a fun film with a great cast! Jolanda Egger did have a great spread in that playboy, i don't blame him for loving Jolanda!

I had no idea this movie existed until my sister and I rented it way back in the 90s. We had a blast watching it, goofyness and all. A true classic. And the score is way better than it has any right to be.
Fun fact: The younger brother of the main character from this movie became a film professor and I actually took a film class from him in high school! Really funny and well spoken guy and it was hilarious when he showed the movie and revealed his role.

I misrecall things from back in the day all the time and Atari DID say they were going to make the cabinet and I'm sure they showed an advert for it ( I would need to look it up tbs ) so if you're saying you saw a magazine ad then you probably did. There were a lot of games that never happened and as I said a lot of space shooters that did. It is completely possible, just not in person unless you saw a private owner's build. It was 40 years ago afterall
For a really long time, since my childhood, I had my memories completely mixed up between The Last Starfighter, Flight of the Navigator, Explorers and Enemy Mine. I had the most crazy, fucked up movie in my mind for like a decade and a half until I reunited with these movies once again. They are all great.

The memory stayed with me for years but i didnt know what it was. I later watched this in my 20s and that scene blew my mind. It all came back to me..i always wondered what movie that memory came from. Admittedly it wasn't that scary and i realised i was a puss. I had similer experiences with the same uncle and Alien.
