First fix a few known issues. Factory installed front grill guards. Redesign HTC rear deck so it doesn’t collect water. Narrower console allowing wider seat (I don't always want to be hugged). Stealth mode when you want to cruise quietly. Redesign headlights so they don't chip the paint. Allow HTC rear window to go down fully. Full engine exposure on HTC.
I would like to see a sexier rear taillight design...
Be careful what you ask for, you’ll regret not having manual buttons (removing The Great Wall idea is stupid) right at your disposal. Searching through the touchscreen on any car is annoying AF.
Yes, my C7 is just fine. C8 buttons are very dim.
Buttons could be mounted underneath the screen for easy access
@@Jimmerca true, but that has absolutely not been the industry trend at all.
I definitely agree with you Sir, removing the “Great Wall” is the wrong thing to do. Keep the important and frequently used functions out of the touch screen. Keep the buttons or knobs. Touch screen is dangerous.
Lighter car, less busy overall design-especially the rear end, better color palette, more color options on calipers, badges and other accents, more streamlined notification process of cars build progress, and less constraints especially on higher ticket items. Congrats Rick on your 30th anniversary….had a blast with you, Korey and everyone else these last few days!!!
I agree with the 360 cameras and rear facing PDR. I wasn’t sure about the wall of controls but now having it, I love it.
Find a better place for the cellphone, a slot in the dash or pocket next to the center console.
Get rid of displacement on demand. An 8 cylinder sports car is a corvette. A 4 cylinder car is a Toyota.
It’s done nothing but destroy engines , ie C7 auto
@@billfleming8281When I had Tahoes with AFM, my Chevy service manager told me that he would see two or three a month with destroyed engines. Haven't talked with him recently so I don't know if that's still the case. I guess GM didn't learn their lesson from the Cadillac 4-6-8 debacle several decades ago.
@@marct9360 another feature nobody wanted except the EPA , and all it does is cause damage . I’ve got a C7 , haven’t driven in auto ( I’ve done manual and paddle shifter since I bought it as I’m concerned it’s coming )
The V4 mode is the WORST thing about the C7 and C8! WE DO NOT WANT IT!!!
It'll be battery operated. I hope I'm still around when they start showing the C9
Congratulations on your 30th anniversary, Rick! Well done! ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊
I want to see a Convertible with a transparent top🙏
Like the 2025 McLaren Artura Spider...push button light to dark....I'm in.
Chevrolet could easily put a DCT filter/fill access panel in the existing underbody cladding; there is an aftermarket panel available now (though it does require some moderate installation skills). Chevy could do it at the factory quite easily.
I just had to get my trans changed in my 2023 and pray they get them sorted. Honestly scared its going to go out again. I did the trans filter at 7500miles too. As for the C9 id like the wireless charger to be in an easier place to get to, a park brake button in a better spot. Doors that go up would be wicked too
Congratulations on 30 year Rick!! You highlighted a ton of good ideas for the C9. I just hope that the new interior gives us more room, especially head room, and more comfortable seats, especially for people that are well over 6' tall . Maybe GM needs some larger interior designers and engineers to assist with the design?
I'm just getting around to watching this video Rick. Congrats on your 30 year anniversary of selling cars! That is an achievement!
How about "active " aero on the C9 ...and of course, the ever popular making enough with all the parts to be available for everyone who wants one.
btw manual buttons will always be cooler and stand the test of time. think of bugatti tourbillon. the great wall is just phenomenal. design wise too.
I AGREE on "WHEELS with BLING"!!!
Carbon fiber looks nice, up Close, and of course it can reduce weight in the car... Got a suggestion for a LOT of reduced weight, above the Center of Mass... GO ON A DIET!!
Carbon wheels just look like a big Black Hole in the side of the car! Reminds me of the guys back in high school that went to local Junkyards to find wider rims... and Spray Painted them 'Rattle-can Black' so they would match...
YES! I think your Chrome Wheels look GREAT!! And even Brushed Aluminum and bronze Wheels can be Really nice...
And if my personal "Fairy Princes" or GOD Above Blesses me with the resources... I would absolutely get those ne Blue Metallic wheels on a Black, or hysteria Purple Z06... hopefully a Convertible...
For those of us without a lift, it would be nice to have four extra pads to place the jack stands while you have the car jacked up. I remember Father Chuck mentioning and pointing out areas near the lift points a few years back and one of the tech Tuesday videos but I don't remember exactly where they were.
My two favorite recommendations are more exotic colors and chrome wheels.
Rear lights refresh, middle exhaust, and more subtle wall of buttons.
Custom color "paint to sample" Option. A LOT of people would pay extra for a (near) unique look.
A slightly larger frunk. Just a little bit more square. Fluorescent green calipers and matching pinstripe on the skirts and around the bottom of the car.
How about a usb c outlet up by the rear view mirror for a radar detector, and also ceramic brake pads as standard so the wheels stay cleaner, love your channel
21:27 1. Camera on the passenger's side mirrora.
2. Colored lights in the cabin on the doors and across the dash like the mersedes S class.
3. Flip cover over the start button.
4. Faraday key fob covers.
5. Unlocked ECU.
6. Trunk vents for the brake ducts like C7 Z0s
7. Louvers rear glass
8. Fog lights
9. Fix the 5th gear
I thought I wanted a manual. Then I drove the DCT.
There you go perfect 👊👊👊
Rick Corvette Conti ❤
Great content on this episode! I agree with your idea of expanding the caliper color palette… that shouldn’t break the bank and would make a lot of people happy! I also agree with bumping up the horsepower in the base model. That is always on the list.
The C9 needs a rear diffuser as well the C8
Congratulations on 30 years Rick of dedicated Corvette customer service the best in the industry.
I want GM to stop using high school kids to design the rear of the C9…like they did the C8
Hey Rick, how about adding an optional lower back heater for us older folks? Many of us have lower back issues and would welcome relief while we drive our Corvettes.
@@ronaldpeacock4133 thanks for watching and your feedback
They should put the C9 engine on the roof - after all - all they are aiming for is to be different.
One more. When the little car shows up in the side mirrors when another car is approaching from behind, put the image in the HUD.
Love, love, love my C8 (but if I had to change something…I’d move the phone charger to a more easily accessible location). That’s about it!
One body style , the most exotic for all like the ZR1. This would simplify building on the assembly line . Large side vents for cooling, standardize vent protection grills.
More color choices.
Optional chrome wheels and more wheel choice options.
I'm hoping they would have center exhaust with all of the models
Not sure if it has been mentioned yet... however I would love to see rear view mirror camera mounted in a way you can still use it with the top down for convertibles & some sort of sunglass storage and lastly a opion for a manual trans
Happy 30th! Thanks for your loyalty to Corvette!
I think the C9 should redesign the side Vents.
Should come with a factory display window on the convertible hardtop models.
Mutli camera security system in and outside the car connected to the vehicle recording unit.
Manual, yes i know its not in the plans, to much to rework, but for the ultimate historian and Corvette lover a manual transmission is part of what made Corvette so distinctive as a sport car .
To keep my comment to you on the new C9 Corvette feature I would like together with the rest Rick, I am mentioning my long wanted feature of window memory to be added. For us Corvette enthusiasts, it would be a leading edge feature to develop a memory preset for how much the window automatically rolls down at start up based on which memory setting is chosen.
Hi Rick...we still are hanging on to our 2011 convertible C6 because it's a beautiful supersonic blue heritage anniversary edition.
We just haven't seen a color since then that we like as well.
I would enjoy the new tech but our current color is a keeper.
My wish list: Softer styling. Look to C5 for inspiration. Hold the line on size and weight. Reduce if possible. NA flat plane crank for Z06. Manual transmission as an option.
Congratulations on the 30yr anniversary, and yes GM , should give you a crack at Indy pace car, no offense to Mike Strahand, would be will to bet he doesn’t own a C8 and or give a rats a.. , about the C8, and no doubt you are a lock for Corvette HOF in the future. My best suggestion for C9 would be to put more sound deadening material in cabin to cut down on road noise in cabin, that honestly is my only complaint with C8, I have taken off run flat tires to improve road noise and that helps a lot, one more would be the surround camera, I have it on other GM vehicles and it’s awesome. Good luck in the auto cross ( it’s probably over with by now). Sure that was a lot of fun. Thanks for all you do for Corvette Community, and GM should notice too😉.
Thank you Rick for all you do
GM needs to make some chrome wheels. Just got my trident wheels bright chromed with wheel craft. People stop and compliment those bright chromed wheels. Hardly no comments about the black wheels.
Bring back the "secret" storage compartment on the dash from the C7. I miss that on my C8. Came in all kinds of handy.
The C8 is so good, Chevy should have a Porsche 911 strategy with Corvette with incremental improvements, refinements, and suspension tuning but stay true to the winning form of C8.
You need to be able to put the top up as well as down with the remote fob on the convertible. And you also need cameras that give you a view from the nacelles at 120 -150 and 210 - 250 degrees. Front end lift could also lift a little higher. All of these are things that would even help the 2026 as well as the C-9
Like I said, with my other comment, a quick connect for your battery, tender from the outside without having the funk or trunk open or smashing the wire.
The C9 could have a wheel offset change. These wheels sit too far inward. Some active aero. Bring back Ceramic Matrix Gray.
Keep the wall of buttons
There is a company that makes an access panel for the transmission filter.Cut a hole in the Original One, this plate boats on it
I will look into that!
There are a couple of RUclips videos on this.
I hope to order a vet off of you when I can.
I like a lot of the suggestions made by others already in here but I'll just add this....I'd like to see a redesigned steering wheel....round on the top and sides but keep the flat bottom, new headlight design, redesign the dashboard/instrument panel and get rid of the wall of buttons and go back to the grab handle design.
Now I'm gonna go out on a limb with this last one but...a ten inch subwoofer mounted on the wall behind each seat with a 1000 watt amp...that would be a killer sound system!
I want GM to stop over-pricing the wide body models. They are mass-produced vehicles that share a common platform.
Lots of great suggestions for the C9. Very glad to hear Paragon figured out the light bar turn signal/driving lights. Keep up the good work. Congratulations on 30 freakin years!
Thanks my friend
All wheel drive is a must to be considered.
Move the steering wheel audio buttons above the center of the wheel
Cameras on each side that work together with the turn signal. Also should be able to record a security camera once parked.
I don’t know how you ask for more? I absolutely love the C8. I would like to see more availability, meaning if it’s offered on a build it should be on your car when you take delivery. I think the buttons should be of exceptional quality. The performance selection wheel is nice, spend the money on the window controls and the waterfall.
Congratulations on Thirty years, your the best!!!!!!Many, Many more
Thanks, appreciate you!
a round steering wheel
4K PDR/ dash cam front and rear! Performance sport cats and louder exhaust. More rims selection! FRONT RADIATOR GRILL GUARDS STANDARD! Cut out for transmissions filter changes, Lloyd Corvette thick Carpeted mats with logos. Better stereo with subwoofer! Best security so it’s impossible to get car stolen with LoJack standard. Facial recognition technology to help with security. Full width splash guards that completely covers 13” inches of tire and paint protection. Paint protection film options and outside emblem delete options.
I'm sure they'll smooth up the lines a bit for the C9. I suspect they may do something for the ease of servicing / access for oil and DCT. I doubt we'll see any more manual transmission models. The car should have the radiator guards as pretty much standard equipment given the location, etc. I could see a bit more aggressive look on the front end / little meaner look to the front - maybe a little more "hump" over the front wheels / widened vibe. Love to see some caliper color options to match paint on the car and additional stitch color / pattern options for interior.
No SUVs, Corvette is a sports car not a utility vehicle. Bigger seats, yes. More colors and matching callipers.
More dipped colors. No reason not to to have many colors. No market pricing, it makes me hate people who rip us off. I actually check to see which dealers do that. That just isn't fair, it is nothing but sheer greed. And I don't give a damn about supply and demand. I hate the tail lights and always have since they stole them from the Camaro. Most of the time I feel like Corvette has deserted the core Corvette people, you know the ones with the grey hair like me that have always supported the car. When you look at most of the gatherings, most of the men
Have grey hair. Chevys race to make money have made it difficult to take even small trips in the new car due to
NO STORAGE SPACE!
What do we need next? A complete body redesign to start with, this car has way too many sharp lines, bring back a manual transmission option also. Get rid of those God-awful wings
Congratulations on 30 Years. How about Brake Pads that don't make wheels dirty after a mile. Night Race Blue but without that much metallic, make it a Deep Shine. One of the reasons I sold my 2013 GS, to much sparkle.
Make C9 a bit smaller and lighter and include a manual. Bring back CarPlay. Engine view on the HTC would also be good. Hate to say it, but for the automatic versions there are some really good torque converter autos now (as in the M3/M4) that are much more reliable than the DCT….perhaps dump the DCT?
Absolutely excellent vlog ! Thank you Rick
A bump in horsepower up to 540 just to keep from going crazy on additional pricing. And a more aggressive sound.
I agree with keeping the buttons. With any competitive car your eyes need to stay on the road not a on a screen trying to find what you want. This is the same reason that you shouldn't be texting while driving. Also more colors would be great. Geez your spending tons of money please provide us more colors! I wanted the Hypersonic Grey Metallic then they took the choice away. Also can they put more flake in the paint like their competitors do?
Thanks Rick awesome that you actually talk to the Corvette owners and guys who hope to own one.
Auto lowering and raising of the c8 so you don't need to adjust the springs. When lower the c8 the front lift then only gives you a half inch lift. What would be nice is front lift hugger for us older guys so we can get out of the car 😅 and round off the top of the steering wheel.as I like to drive with me hand on top . Oh and an actual purple color.
Rick, from a passenger in the C8, it would be great to have a phone charger/holder on left side down by seat. For driver phone charger in front or other side by seat put their charger/holder. Hard to get at the one behind you!
Great feedback just build what we can't get ! Bring back Amplify and other exotic colors. How about a heated coffee cuo holder for you. Congrats on 30 years.
It took me 20 minutes to wash my C6, it takes 4 hours to wash my C8 because of all the nook and crannies. Clean up the tiny details especially the tiny breakable “CORVETTE” letters on the back of the car. I suggested this to GM already, make I so the high rear camera changes to the low rear camera when the HTC is down. Make it so that the Bluetooth is not mono-directional. Have it so you can see your iPhone on the Infotainment monitor and so the passenger can see the infotainment screen on and be able to change the radio or navigation or anything else that is available on the infotainment monitor on their device. Right now operating those features is extremely difficult for the passenger due to the position of the monitor. Put Easter Eggs on Anniversary series Corvettes like on the 70th they could have put the frunk pull down that became available on the next year’s model.
I agree with the color palette. So frustrating that they offer so many limited color choices. I had a 2021, sold it to upgrade to a 2024 E-Ray and they cancelled my color choices. They should do more like Porsche which offers a virtual unlimited color choice for their cars. Chevy should offer four or 5 no cost colors, then upgraded colors with some cost, and perhaps all the way up to paint to sample at a premium if customers want to pay for it. I'd also like to see the parking break in the center console vs next your legs on the left side, that so cumbersome. General performance improvements, better wheel choices, and return of center exhaust for all gas models.
Interior and exterior accent lighting with configuration from the car software. Maybe an optional application to configure colors, lighting pattern, brightness, to multiple lighting areas.
Thanks for featuring my comment Rick, love what you do!
Wheel offset is the biggest problem with the stingray. Hope this is better in the C9
Super show and ideas Rick! Thanks for giving us a voice to GM! Here are a couple of my thoughts. Keep in mind that I have a 14 and have only been in a C8 a couple of times for short rides. So my thoughts may be off the wall.
Elongate the frunk so there is more storage in the HTC. I can’t travel lightly…
Would it be possible to just add the gates to shift manually instead of using the paddles? Probably not a great idea but I love to shift, however I would not miss the clutch.
Again little experience with the C8, I love the sequential rear turn signals so I would like to see those standard and of course the front ones you added from Paragon as well. It irritates me when I’m behind a Mustang base model and its turn signals are sequential.
I really liked the idea of the z51 cooling system on all Stingrays. One reason I have a z51 is for the extra cooling capacity I think I need here in Texas. I also love the extras that came with the Z51 but I think the non Z51 cars might have a better life with the extra cooling.
The intakes guards should be standard. You have said that many times and I bet we all agree!
Also I love surround PDR idea!
Thanks for your great content as always!
Update-I was reading comments, a usb c outlet at the mirror for the radar detector would be wonderful !! And moving the cell phone charger to a pocket in the door would be great!
Richard
More headroom please. Imagine a 6’5” driver tracking the car, as intended, trying to wear a helmet.
Some of these requests on here folks are not sports car categories. Designing is a passion and
a pursuit of perfection at the highest level especially in automotive design. Art Center in
Passadena would be laughing at this stuff you are asking for.
Larger trunk?
Wider seats?
Manual buttons?
Are you kidding me?
Great upload Rick. Thank you for featuring my 2012 Supersonic Blue Grand Sport with Pikes Peak in the background. Yes, that color is the best ever.
Hey Rick! Butterfly doors would be cool on the C9.
Rick, You need an Ember Travel Mug. Keeps your coffee hot and fits in the car’s cup holders perfectly!
Getting rid of the "wall" of climate control switches might be the biggest mistake they will make with the 2026. That interior separates Corvette from every other sports car, super car and hyper car. It is the perfect interior for the driver. Add a grab handle for the passenger if you must, but, when you're driving the car, who cares about the passenger! J/K about that last part.
Well done Rick, very interesting video and congrats on 30th.
Very interesting suggestions! Congrats on 30 years!!
Add more clearance to the window gap, at the bottom of the engine trunk hood on C8 coupes, for easier cleaning...then make that same window easily removal, for the Summer time heat to escape...which is ALL year round in Arizona. I lift that engine hood every time after parking to dissipate that heat... it's Freaking Brutal.
In the will-never-happen-but-fun-to-imagine category, I'd like to see Cadillac release a GT type car (this is where Super Cruise is an ideal fit) based on the C8/C9.
C9: Better taillights, rear of car. Better, more color options exterior and interior. Another C8R public version. Different seat belt geometry options. An option to have non-electric seats or at least have a manual override so you can get in and out of the car easier and faster. Personally, I would like a manual transmission if available and it cost a little less. Agree with the lighter version. Better striping options. No crazy markups at dealerships.
I would like to see a higher resolution and refresh rate on the rear view mirror. Too often the headlights of the car behind me flash making it look like a police car with flashing lights requesting cars pullover
Don’t own a C8, still love my C5. With that said, Love to see the Great Wall of buttons gone. Been wanting to get into another corvette, but every time I sat in the C8 the wall button and it being driver focused made me feel claustrophobic.
Active aero and yes a better seat! It would be nice if seat could come up out and at a 90 degree angle so easier to get in and out without throwing out your back. I’m still amazed as how some folks in 80’s can get in and out. I know there is an accessibility payment you get but it should be something you can order.
Yo have received a lot of great C9 ideas, but one other is a grab handle for the passenger perhaps attached to the A pillar. Or maybe done on C8 refresh?
I spoke directly to GM’s chief Engineer Josh about the ability to open the glass rear window on the coupe for c9 and or reverse clamshell or standard clamshell to gain access to a large part of the engine Bay Area and rear tires exposed like on a koenigsegg and change up the rear lower bumper to gradually angle upward and designed to expose more of the width of the menacing rear tires and lower the weight by 100-200 pounds realistically. Steering feedback and precision feel improvement
How about some secret cubby holes to stash stuff how about a hatch thats reachable from inside the car.
Option to have iron brakes on all models. Those who track know iron tech has caught up and is more cost effective and not nearly as fragile.
I would like better visibility for the side rear panels. 😮
Rick, GM should offer all GM colors for Corvette. If there is a color you love that is offered on a Cadillac or traverse or any GM vehicle, it should be an option for Corvette. Give us more color choices.
Active cruise
I love it on my F250.
Very disappointed my new Z06 doesn’t have it.
WHERE'S the GM '"CORVETTE S.U.V."' I CAN NOT GET IN OR OUT OF THE CAR. THANKS TO MY SAVERE RA.!!😮
