    After doing a lot of research, I'm very close to making my decision to going to Peru this summer. It seems like every source I've seen said that they love Peru. I just think that when I go there, I'm probably going to end up eating a lot. They say that some of the food in Peru is the best. And a "Coffee and Waffles" shop??? YAYYY!! I'm probably going to be in those coffee and desserts shops ALL of the time lol 🤣

    I loved Lima the two times I’ve visited. I preferred Barranco over Miraflores, but I don’t remember any bad smells. We went in July so it was winter then.
    Have you made it to Parque Kennedy in Miraflores? The cats in the park are a trip! If you can, go early to see them sleeping in the park. We had a great time watching the cats.
    Miraflores reminded me a lot of Santa Monica, CA with cliffs and a major road at the beach level. Similar weather too.
    Hope you are enjoying Peru and thank you for the videos!

  • @jacklee279

    The video was excellent! Peru, is a country with diversity, including the people, Native American Indians of many different ethnic groups, black Afro-Peruvians, Asian-Peruvians, white European descent Peruvians, and mix Peruvians, or mestizos, mainly of Native American Indian and white European descent. It just depends on the part of the country. There is an interesting Chinatown around downtown Lima. Miraflores is a commercial area with many hotels, restaurants, and hostels. San Isidro, used to be a wealthy residential area, like Beverly Hills. San Isidro, has changed, many of the rich families have moved to other more quiet and guarded areas like Monterrico, La Molina, Las Casuarinas, La Planicie, and so on, which are residential wealthy areas. And San Isidro, has become a more business commercial area were many banks, and other such kind of institutions are headquartered. You guys should visit Iquitos, Peru. Best wishes!

  • @Rodo3919
    @Rodo3919 Год назад

    Great video guys, I’m Peruvian from Lima and I have to say if you like San Isidro you might want to check out other districts that are much more safe than San Isidro, and definitely not known by tourist but locals…. La molina, Rinconada del lago, Casuarinas, Chosica is super nice, maybe some parts in Surco and San Borja. But these are more residential areas.

    In lima we love our parks I think because Lima sits on a desert, most is irrigated with ancient pre-inca acueducts that Tun below the city, people dream of green hehehe in the Surco district where I live there is circa 800 parks well looked after….and manicured new expresión for me. Enjoy your time guys !! I love your videos and have been following you since Mexico. If you want to grasp what I mean by desert take a visit to Pachacamac archeological site, it’s safe just take a taxi from Barranco, there is a brand new museum there too. You will see views of the ocean, the desert and the green river valley below, I recomend the place many visitors and locals go there, take a hat and sun cream. On the way will see other social landscapes too, from A de Z.

    So happy you two are still safe and doing so well in one my favorite places to be. Lima is where I wish I were today, but, being I just left there in Nov, I have to give it some time. Any I did give Albania a look and so wanted it be my next travel location, but, burrrrrrrrr, too cold there in Feb. I might have to get a pensioners visa for Peru, so I can be there at least 6 months at a time. Peru no longer allows 183 days it has been reduced to 90 per 6 months and then you have to wait another 6 months to get another 90 days. This could change again on a dime though, there's no consistency with their visa rules. So for now, still looking for where to head in Feb 2023. Loving this video and you updates on your stay in Peru.

We have not traveled much or ever been to South America, so needless to say it is a bit overwhelming. It is useful to have your perspectives on the city. They are not neighborhoods, they're Districts administered by Mayors. Lima City is administered by a Governor and it has Provinces and inside of these, there are Districts and districts are made up for neighborhoods and these are made up for groups of blocks at the same time. In the case of Miraflores, Barranco, San Isidro for example, they're districts which are inside Metropolinan/Urban Area of Lima Province. Lima City has 8 provinces administered by mayors, too like Lima, Cañete, Chosica, Lurin, Huacho, etc, they, except for Lima, have a image more "rural" but they're inside of Lima City. In the case of San Isidro for example, the political administration would be like this: Peru>Lima City>Lima Province/Metropolitan>San Isidro>El Olivar neighborhood. Greetings from the District of San Martin de Porres, Lima. 😊🏙️ !
