I know this is not the 1000th video in a row, but doing a video a day for 1000 episodes straight is an accomplishment. Congratulations! And sure it’s not a good Star Wars game, but at least it is based off the best movie, so that’s something.
Congrats for making it to the 1000 episode! The game though, I wouldn't call it a kusoge, but man does it felt like one. Though I believe there was one game in 1993 that was much worse than this. This also happens to be Victor's second to last game they made. Other than the Ys games I couldn't see their logo as a seal of quality. Hana no Star Kaidou was virtually unplayable, though nothing can top Outlanders from being the worst licensed title for the system (Super Monkey Daibouken doesn't count). Still, we are going to see Victor one last time at the second to last Famidaily episode.
I'm going to miss western made Famicom games, from what I remember this is the last one 🙁 Who needs Kirby when it is still the 90s and therefore time for Klax
4:54 - the game is a total mess, but it does have some nice details that show the developers at least watched the movie. When you are running around on the ground, if you press up and jump while standing in the right spot "below" an AT-AT, Luke will run up to it, rappel up to its underbelly, and drop an explosive charge inside, just like in the movie.
Congratulations on the 1000th video! Super proud of you. I’ve had the luck to follow you from the very first episode and I’ve watched all your videos while I have breakfast. Thanks for all your effort!
How did it make sense not to hand this off to Namco? For all of its zany touches, Namco Star Wars was at least a good game that got the spirit of the film as well as could be expected.
I was captivated by this game as a kid. It was extremely difficult, but I found the game sprawling in a mysterious way that really piqued my Star Wars nerd brain when I was 8. I realize it is not well regarded. I still think the game is pretty cool though, despite it being functionally and mechanically rough.
Here we are with very few games being released from 93-94 as we wind down after 1000 Famicom cartridges. For a NES game, released in the previous year, it didn't feel that "late," but as a Famicom game this is WAY too late to be releasing an 8-bit Star Wars game in 1993. On top of that, they're asking nearly $80 for it. Of course no one wanted this in japan in 1993. Was it worth the price tag? As a 4 megabit MMC3 game, no. This was just obscenely overpriced. I don't have the exact price for this on US launch, but I am sure it was nowhere near that much. NES games in the US were below $50 since the launch of the SNES, having to at least seem like a bargain next to the 16-bit games.
This one weirdly looks like a game boy title adapted/ported to the famicom. Awful game specially considering how good looking were famicom games during its final period. Edit: and congrats on the 1000th episode!! A journey with highs and lows, but still not at the end. Can’t wait for the Kunio-kun basketball game to be reviewed !!!!
The one thing you can say about ESB is that it makes Victor Stars Wars almost playable by comparison. Anyway, I've made it to Cloud City once. This game is so frustrating,
There's a Famicom software package called Ikinari Musician that lets you play tunes with backing tracks. The opening is the Rock track and the ending is the Canon track and the tune on top of it is just me noodling on the keyboard.
Ah, game number 1000... and it's one of the worst games of 1993. >_> I don't know if I'd quite call it kusoge, but it's very close - and there are really few of those left before the end of the project... still, what a ride to get to this point!
congrats on 1000! too bad it was on this terrible looking star wars game. will have to go back and see how the 'a new hope' game stacks up. (darth vader turns into a scorpion I guess?)
FINALLY WE ARE AT 1000 EPISODES WE ARE AWESOME ‼️😃

Congrats on 1000!! I’m still making my way through the 300s but wanted to celebrate the accomplishment :)
This game looks infuriating
Here for the 1000th episode landmark spectacular, aight! 🎉
Happy 1000 anniversary!
This game always reminded me of Spider-Man: Return of the Sinister Six due to the sickening screen motion 😁
Finally caught up at episode 1000! Now to wait for more episodes like everybody else.
Happy Episode 1000, shame it couldn't be an actual decent game.
I'm going to miss western made Famicom games, from what I remember this is the last one 🙁 Who needs Kirby when it is still the 90s and therefore time for Klax
You are correct that this is the last western developed Famicom game. There was a later one I wasn't sure about but it was developed in Japan...
Wow, a Bird Versus Camel remake level!

Ooo! Nice Japanese Star Wars poster!

We're only getting to 1000 now? I could have sworn there were more than eight episodes
A bit late, but congrats on the 1000 episodes!

It's funny cuz the actual Game Boy port came out some time later, and it's *much* worse.
Ah, that might explain why the player character looks so tiny.
*1000* 🎉🍻🍾

I see Disney has aqcuired this channel.
41 TO GO!
whats the song you use in the intro? always love it
He made it using a game called ikinari musician

We've got some real grade A trash coming very soon.
