Nintendo seemed to have lock-downed their games on other consoles for the most part but Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., and Mario Bros came out on the Atari 7800 in 1988! I assume Atari had some release rights from their 2600 ports still?
Atari made more ports than the 2600 so it was probably tied up with all of those. By the time the Jaguar came along, it might have expired or it might not have been worth it to make more ports.
don't think I've played this version, in that case if it's not the same as the TENGEN edition. I was never super good at this one but it was fun to play. sort of a cute-em-up take on defender.
My favorite home port of this was on the turbo grafx. The sound font was way off but it looked and played great.
Yeah, I've always had problems with the audio on that one. Looking forward to trying out the new MegaDrive port in about six weeks, though...
I like this port. It's not the best... but I like it. The NES version has softer colors, but it doesn't play as well. If only we could combine them.
I was VERY confused when I saw the name, hahaha!
