Field Marshal Erwin Rommel was left out. He too was a victim of the after events of the failed plot (resulting to his forced suicide for being implicated in the plot). But he only favoured having Hitler arrested and brought to a German court over assassinating him.
@array s Rommel was eventually overruled when he suggested that idea of wanting arrest Hitler (resulting to the failed bomb plot). Plus Hitler's security was too high for them to do so. He opposed the idea of assassinating Hitler since he believes it would turn Hitler into a martyr and believe it would erupt a civil war between Germany and Austria due to how valued Hitler was to them. He had to commit suicide either way due to his support with the conspirators despite opposing the idea of assassination. Otherwise his family would have been punished too if he were to be placed on trial.
I'm not sure how that would work since Hitler and the Nazi party controlled all the courts.

The so-called judge, Roland Freisler, seems to personify all that was bad in Germany. It is too bad that he got such a quick death. A decade in a Soviet camp, and then starvation to death would seem much more fitting.

@metacosmos I admire Stauffenberg and his co conspirators try to do. I think it would not change a lot since Allies(Western) would refuse anny peace treaty but at least they had the "balls" if I may or the bravery to try to pull it off if you saw your country drowing what would you do? Now Stauffenberg is by no means a hero of "Democratical Resistance" as so many oportunistic low politicians like to make in Germany. Stauffenberg was Nationalistic Catholic Officer that love his fatherland

Friesler learned this technique from Stalin's showtrials. He was a pow in WW1 and became fantasized while in Russia. These showtrials are a mirror of Stalin's own showtrials.

@ImperialGuard9001 They were Germans of the First World War kind, but remember that at that time they looked too after a peace or armistice with the Allies when they were sure that the war was or lost or senseless and that their leader then, the Kaiser, was finished .They tried again to get an armistice with the Allies from 1942 to 1945 as it was evident that they would lose the war and that Germany would be destroyed.

You could not go half way as Rommel did....he was no hero, but basically a coward
I thought Rommel was given a choice from the SS either to kill himself or have his family killed and for him to be placed under arrested and executed.

@John Raymond no dude you are totally wrong about that. Fromm was the real coward. Before the assassination attempt on Hitler, Rommel was Germany's heroic general. Plus always repudiated Hitler's execution orders of Jewish soldiers or other POWs. He was even more heroic to the end when he took his own life to save his family and staff after his support with the anti-Hitler conspiracy was discovered. So don't assume things without research and get your facts right cuz Rommel was never a coward throughout his service in the war.
He was no coward, exposing himself in combat over and over.

As a Soldier, he believed that a trial would be the best approach.
And he had the guts to confront Hitler several times, namely in 1943 explaining that the war was lost.
